Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
When using applets in JiveLite (on PiCorePlayer), where to the logs go? I've reviewed the log file specified by the PiCorePlayer configuration (Squeezelite settings/log file name), but I don't find any of the expected log messages from an applet. Where do the applet logs go? Do I have to configure something to actually create logs from the applet? tcutting's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103330 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
At the risk of cross posting (I posted this in pCp 2.0 thread), I ask my question here because it is a Jivelite setting, and not a pCp 2.0 setting per se. My is question as follows; one of the Jivelite screen settings is *-date and time format-*. Does this mean that there is or will be a clock screensaver plugin or applet? Hi Greg. Thanks for you reply. Router is definitely within range as it lists it when I run the diagnostic/scan mode from the picoreplayer GUI. As a sanity check I booted the pi from another SD card running a Raspian and the wifi worked fine so that proves the hardware is functioning correctly. Have been over the SSID & password a dozen times - it almost feels as if those parameters aren't being passed correctly to the OS. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelit
Hello Everybody, first of all I'd like to thank the team behind the piCorePlayer as it seems to be exactly what I was searching for ages now! Unfortunately I'm experiencing an issue and I'm hoping that someone can direct me to a possible source of the issue. I've set up a Raspberry B+ with the latest image (2.00) and booted the RasPi with cable network - no issues so far. Then I attached the Wifi Stick (TP-Link TL-WN715N V2.1) and configured my wifi network - unfortunately the PWD has special chars so I expected something failing (the UI states that PWDs have to be alphanumeric only) and indeed it fails when using the wifi setup via web interface. So I logged on via SSH and adapted the /home/tc/wifi.db and the /usr/local/sbin/config.cfg to use my password with special chars. After that I ran the script wifi.sh and the network connection gets established - I can even load the web UI over the Wifi-Stick and log on via SSH. Now where's the issue? As soon as I disconnect the network cable, the wifi stick is no longer reachable; web UI and SSH are no longer responding. Only My router is of the opinion that the wifi stick is still working (also the led in the stick is still blinking). As soon as I reconnect the cable network the piCorePlayer gets available again over the wifi-stick IP. Also SSH works great connecting to the wifi-stick IP. I'm assuming a power issue, but the power adapter can deliver 2.5 Amps, which should be more than enough, imho. I hope the issue is not related to the PWD. Also I had an issue once that disconnecting the wifi-stick and connecting it to a different USB port killed the piCorePlayer installation. I had to completely re-write the image to the flash card - is disconnecting a network device from the RasPi while it's turned on a bad idea somehow? I greatly appreciate any help - I hope I haven't overlooked anything in the docs. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
Hi w7r, I believe your wifi adaptor is support by piCorePlayer, I have a few. So normally it should be very simple. :D The main reasons for wifi not connecting: 1. Incorrect or invalid SSID 2. incorrect or invalid wifi password 3. Hidden SSID I assume for testing your wifi adaptor is close to your wifi router. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
... this looks to be a very interesting project - although I must confess I only discovered piCorePlayer a week or so ago (hangs head in shame) it piqued my interest so I bought a pi2 Mod B to play around with. I've spent a chunk of today attempting to integrate with my existing LMS setup, Radio, Touch & Duet. The initial set-up is very straightforward but I'm tearing my hair out as to why I can't get the wifi (Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter) to work, installed noob just to test all the hardware is working okay - which it is. I've written piCorePlayer to my sdcard, attached via cabled ethernet, booted without issue and can access the web GUI. So the on to configure wifi is where my issues begin. I'm persistently getting a message of:- --- Found wifi device wlan0 Standby for scan of available networks... Set to try a few times to obtain a lease. Attempting auto connection With GONZONET Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) : too few arguments. udhcpc (v1.24.1) started Sending discover... Sending discover... Sending discover... No lease, failing Network connection down! Attempting reconnection two times, etc, etc I'm completely at a loss as to whats going on, it almost as if the wireless params aren't valid/not being read - I've tried editing the newconfig.cfg and used different combos, have changed the hostname just to make sure it's implemented my changes which it appears to have done so for all but the wifi part. Has anybody else seen this behaviour? I've attached the output of the diagnostics WIFI.txt and listed below. Really appreciate any suggestions as to what's going on here. ifconfig wlan0 down ifconfig wlan0 up Found wifi device wlan0 Standby for scan of available networks... No mods, no cutting. It's almost like they predicted the advent of tablets. Got a couple 6" L Brackets at Lowes, with short stand offs at the top and longer ones on the bottom to correct for the minor tilt. I need to mount the rotary encoders and find some big old Chrome knobs and I guess it'll be done. Also might add a headphone jack and I need to pair it with some speakers. Ideally I'd love some old Bakelite enclosure speakers but probably just stick with some bookshelf speakers I already have. Also need to make a back for the thing as well I guess. What a blast. I'm about 90% done but just taking it slow. IQAudio stuff sounds quite great as well. I'm surprised. +---+ |Filename: IMG_1858.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=19772| +---+ hagensieker's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59959 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105033 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

I solved my power issues with one of 'these cables' (http://www.amazon.co.uk/aLLreLi-2-0M-Micro-Cable-Heavy/dp/B014UP9ICQ). I'm powering a Pi2 with IQaudioDAC+ and 7" screen with one of those cables from a 3 x USB power supply from Ikea rated for 2.4A for a single output. Try PS to screen first, the screen provides power to PI. May need short USB to MicroUSB. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelit
Dear Community, I've been using piCore Player on a new Pi 2 model B, taking data via wired ethernet and feeding a Marantz SA8005. Everything works great via hifiberry digi+ w/ toslink, through 24/192. I have trouble using the coax spdif, w/ no sound when using a wall wart and some sound but w/ dropouts using a Jerome linear power supply I used to use for my Touch, so I guess the coax issue is power-related but anyway that's not why I'm writing. When using USB, I occasionally get a horrific loud continuous white-noisy kind of continuous hissing static. Sometimes I can tell when it's about to start - the music starts to "tear" or "spit" and I know "oh crap here it comes". Sometime it plays OK for hours but I never know when I'll get blasted. I've tried a few different USB cables -no difference. The static seems to happen more frequently when I switch tracks. Happens on 16/44 w/ or w/out upsampling as well as w/ higher-rez either upsampled or not. Thinking this may be a buffering issue I added buffering to the Buffer Size Settings tab (tried 4:4000, I think). I thought this fixed it but then it came back. I noticed that when I turned the volume all the way to 0, via a Duet controller, that the hissing stopped, and came back full volume when the volume was set to 1 out of 100%. Sometimes I hear music playing through the static and even at volume level 1 out ouf 100% this music plays at full volume. Thinking that the whole static issue is somehow related to the volume control I disabled it but the static still comes back. So I don't use the USB anymore which means no DSD. I'm left thinking that this may be a quirk of the Marantz, where it sometimes loses the USB connection and responds with a full-volume blast of white noise. Very unpleasant as you can imagine. Any ideas? Any hints? Better yet any solutions? I installed the piCore 2.0 and same problem. One thing I didn't try was to remove the digi+ to see if it has any impact on the USB. I'll try to borrow another USB dac so I can check out this issue and the coax issue as well. Thanks in advance for any assistance! (although my setup does still sound great through the toslik!) -Mike mfsoa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65172 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
