Just to add to Roland's suggestion, using SoX's equalizer effect and a custom-convert file is fairly straightforward. See, for instance, this 'recent thread on the topic' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112497-Using-Sox-to-parametrically-equalizing-I-m-losing-seek-functionality-Could-it-work) or search the forum for "sox" and "custom-convert". It would also allow you to specify different EQ settings for each player, depending on room acoustics, user preferences, etc. It takes a bit of processing power, but as long as you keep to a reasonable number of equalizer commands, you should be fine. This is basically the same scenario as in 'this thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112426-How-to-mix-white-noise-with-the-music-radio-being-played-via-LMS-and-SB3) (i.e. modifying the audio before sending it to the player, in this case using sox with the equalizer filter), so what I wrote there applies here as well. AFAIK, this is the only feasible approach (IIRC, plugins like Inguz or BruteFIR simply write their own custom-convert.conf, hiding the complexity behind a GUI) 'Various SW' (https://www.nexus0.net/pub/sw/): Web Interface | Playlist Editor / Generator | Music Classification | Similar Music | Announce | EventTrigger | LMSlib2go | ... 'Various HowTos' (https://www.nexus0.net/pub/documents/LMS/): build a self-contained LMS | Bluetooth/ALSA | Control LMS with any device | ... Looks interesting for a proper parametric EQ although Ill have to see if my very limited unix skills are up to it as only got my Pi a few weeks ago (and love it). But as SpiderJon says, and like Man in a Van's, this seems to work outside LMS so assumes the Pi is used as the actual player rather than just a server. So ideally I'm still looking for something that works more at the server level (like Inguz for LMS on Windows) so I can supply EQ to my various SB3 and don't have to use the audio out of the Pi ... Man in a van wrote: > I did not read any of this, it's too early :p > > https://www.hifiberry.com/docs/software/guide-adding-equalization-using-alsaeq/ > > ronnie Unfortunately, I -think- that'll only work with sound output direct from the Pi -- eg, via a sound card or bluetooth -- as opposed to a signal sent to an SB3. (Basically, you configure the Pi to send the sound output to Alsaeq, which then processes it, and passes it on to the actual output device.) You -can- use Alsaeq with Squeezelite -- see https://scribles.net/enabling-equalizer-on-raspberry-pi-using-alsa-equal-plugin/ -- but I suspect that's because you can configure where Squeezelite takes its input from (ie, the equalizer, instead of straight from a soundcard), which you can't do with an SB3 or similar. *Tech*: Duet x 3, via various hi-fi. [SlimDevices: Unix] Equaliser for LMS on Raspberry Pi
Hi - is there a (hopefully parametric) equaliser that runs on LMS on a Pi4 (running raspbian) that works with SB3 players? There is Inguz for Windows but I can't find anything for the Pi? Failing that, is there a way to get an equaliser going on the LMS/Pi if the Pi is used as a player instead of a SB3? I have searched and found a 10 band equaliser but can't see how to get it to work, or does it only work with piCorePlayer? Ideally I need more than 10 bands if possible...
