Re: API command listNetworks error
H Thomas, attachments won't work on this list, I'm sorry. You say you have editted the 'physical_network' table. Then you say listNetworks doesn't work. the networks that should be returned with this call are not in the table 'physical_network'. These are in 'networks'. This table does refer to 'physical_network' so maybe some logical key relation is broken? make sure you don't have any existing networks where physical_network_id==205 good hunting,

Re: How to upgrade cloudstack from 4.0 to 4.2
Steven, You'll have to give the community more clues as to what your environment is. In a clean (lab) environment you would only have to update the cloudstack packages/management server. But that is probably not what you want. update procedures are described in the docs, for several hypervisor settings. regards, Daan On Fri, Nov 22, 2013 at 10:19 PM, stevenli...@yesup.com wrote: Hi All, Who can tell me how to upgrade cloudstack from 4.0 to 4.2? Re: replace host best practice
H Lisa, this sounds like a bug. The systemvm should be marked as stopped. You can do this yourself in the db as a workaround. I don't know the best practice for volumes. regards, On Mon, Nov 11, 2013 at 9:27 PM, Lisa B. nordlicht1...@hotmail.de wrote: Hey! Isn't there a better way than fiddling directly with the database and probably messing up the installation? I managed to delete the host but I have still the System VMs and the storage volumes. I think deletion fails because cloudstack can for obvious reasons not reach the host. What is best practice for this use case? Thanks! Lisa

hackathons so far
Users and developers, So far the list of hackathons on CCC Europe has taken a serious shape. Don't forget to check and make sure your personal or company interest is represented at https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/CCC+Europe: h2. hackathon proposals || chair || subject || description || | Daan/? | automated testing | Improve the quality of releases by adding more unit and integration tests to our automated test-suites. Discuss whether the present suites of unit tests and bvt are enough or we might need more classes of tests (i.e. component level and a seperation of integration from functional tests) | | Daan/? | modularization and plug-ability | make cloudstack more plug-able and maintainable by 3rd party vendors. At the moment several mudularization efforts are on the way. The UI guys are working on splitting css, the storare guys are driving towards a better plug-model for drivers and at a system level work is being done on better organizing the injection framework. It's nothing fancy, but it's been working perfectly now for months. All seemed to go very smoothly except for the very last step: {code} nohup cloudstack-sysvmadm -d cs-east-dev1 -u root -p support -a sysvm.log 21 {code} It could not restart the system vms for some reason. (I do not have the original sysvm.log as I've now been playing with this failed upgrade for two days). However, here is the sysvm.log from the very last attempt: {code} nohup: ignoring input Stopping and starting 1 secondary storage vm(s)... curl: (7) couldn't connect to host ERROR: Failed to stop secondary storage vm with id 14 Done stopping and starting secondary storage vm(s) Stopping and starting 0 console proxy vm(s)... I even restarted all of the CentOS hosts (which was a huge hassle), but that didn't seem to help at all. I eventually found this bug: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-4826 which seemed similar to my issues. I was also experiencing a strange issue where all 10 of my private Management IP Addresses were used for some reason. Every time I restarted the cloudstack-management service, 2 more IPs were taken up, but none ever got released. Also since the System VMs would not start, my secondary storage wouldn't start up either. About an hour ago I gave up on 4.2 and I decided to roll back to 4.1.1 on all 4 workstations. Re: 答复: Monitoring feature for CS
The ui uses the api which calls the management server, which delegates functions to complete the api call to agents (for instance to query hypervisors). To add monitoring functions you'd have to extend both the api and the hypervisor drivers. Have a look at http://cloudstack.apache.org/docs/api/index.html to see if you can do what you want yet. Replicating this into Cloudstack with KVM doesn't seem possible? Can I use VLAN tagging? Other questions I have are around the multitude of DNS servers(internal, external, etc) that the CloudStack Management server asks me for when I set up the Pod/Cluster/Host as well as internal and external networks - then how do I assign and make sure all configuration is okay across hypervisors?
