See the text below, and, if it gets through, the attachment.

The text below, and the attachment, are from a message sent to a
person that queried me, off-list, about this.

A more than 20 years old bug, relating to the refusal of thunderbird
to itself, display the two columns and their information, has been
treated with contempt by mozilla, which has the objective of making
thunderbird dangerous.

The deliberate security threat by mozilla, had been overcome by the
use of a third party add-on, but, when mozilla became aware that
thunderbird had been made safer, mozilla prohibited the add-on, to
again make thunderbird dangerous.

Thunderbird may be free, and therefore, some say that we "should not
look a gift horse in the mouth", but, when a free meal has ground
glass deliberately put in it, by the provider of the free meal, then,
the free meal is not so good.

The reckless endangerment by the programmers of thunderbird, has
been discussed on various other, more appropriate mailing lists for
discussing available email software.

when I upgrade the installed version of thunderbird, on two of my
computers, I found the imposed danger, and so, switched to using the
out of date installation of thunderbird on this computer, which is
safer.

As an example, view the attachment and note that the information of
the two columns with the headings "Sender (a)" and "Recipient (@)". is
malignantly concealed in versions of Thunderbird after this version,
so as to deliberately endanger users, and, anyone to whom they send
email.

The programmers of thunderbird, who are responsible for this, should
be burnt to death, and their ashes flushed down toilets, for their
evil act.

As the mailing list stripped the attachment, I will try to copy and
paste the applicable text into a message body. It may look like rubbish,
but it is the only way that I can imagine, to post the applicable text.

So, this message is sent from a dangerous version of thunderbird, as
this is on my primary computer, and, I only use this version of
thunderbird, for dealing with messages of which, I am confident, are
trustworthy.

As a link was wanted, relating to the deliberate endangerment by the
thunderbird programmers, as I have mentioned, a bug that is over twenty
years old, relating to this, exists, and, has been treated with contempt
by the thunderbird programmers, as they treat the safety and security of
users with contempt.

I have just checked, and SeaMonkey has the same inbuilt insecurity for

Remember that Opera is now owned by the chinese imperial government, to
which, the Norwegian organisation that created Opera, sold the software,
some years ago.

So, if you want whatever you would use opera for, monitored by the
chinese imperial government, then, you might be happy with that, but,
any email sent using anything to do with opera, should not be expected
to be regarded as anything other than dangerous.

If using a UNIX-like operating system (thus excluding Apple operating

The email application that is my strongest recommendation, is available,
I believe, for most operating systems, is the most powerful, and, is
older than the World Wide Web, and, older than the Internet, upon which,
the World Wide Web runs.

But, it is not as pretty, as what most people want, as most people
prefer pretty, with bells and whistles, rather than functionality,
power, and stability.

Re: Email software

2024-01-07 Thread Amin Jack Pędziwiater
I shouldn't giving advices about a software i've no permanently using ,
Robbie , but if i had to do it, I would recommend the Opera Software email
client because of my previous experiences when Opera browser had imperfect
built in mailing system but after establishing cooperation with Google it
abandoned the built-in version in favor of creating independent e-mail
software.
So as so, try recognising that option among others.

Very good point Amin! So what do you recommend? I hate the MS 365 Cloud
products actually, used to love desktop Outlook. Would like to purchase a
desktop email client, getting ready to buy a new laptop.

Primarily using an Apple email address, but will be starting a new business
with email based on my domain name.

Off topic but I figured other Open Office users would also be interested, as
Amin makes a very valid point!

Thanks!

The Apache OpenOffice project does not offer an e-mail client. One well-known
open-source e-mail client is Thunderbird (https://www.thunderbird.net/) and
there are others (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_email_clients).

Thank you!

For the question to be properly answered, the question should first, be
properly asked.

What operating system and version of the operating system, is the
original poster running?

Apache OpenOffice doesn't have an email component. You might consider
Thunderbird.
