[SOGo] Default carddav addressbook in iPhone 4S with iOS 6
Hello all, Sorry for asking a question that is not necessary related to SOGo but i write here in the hope that someone is facing the same situation and already found a fix or a workaround. I have a SOGo 2.0.2 in a multi-domain configuration that work fine on a CentOS 6.3 box. My problem is that: after the iOS upgrade to version 6, my iPhone 4S does not show all my carddav address books in the list of default account (that is Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Contacts). I ususaly have 5 or 6 address books there from 3 SOGo servers and i can select one to be default. For example, now i have 3 carddav address books (all on the same SOGo server) and in the list i have just 2 address books. After several days of tests i'm pretty sure that is a bug in iOS 6 but my question is: is anyone facing this situation? Anyone found a fix or a workaround? Thank you in advance. -- Relu -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

The backend is developed in PHP, using the Slim Framework[1]. It is modular so you can adapt it to your users database (LDAP, SQL, ...). It is a small piece of code, less than 600 lines of real code. The frontend is developed using SproutCore[2]. So it is fully Javascript and only runs in the browser. Frontend and backend communicate via a REST interface. SOGoAccountsManager reuses the cookie of SOGo, so there is no need to re-authenticate. SOGoAccountsManager is not features complete for now. It is stable enought to be tested for accounts management. Domains management, Mail groups management, etc... are not developed for now. As soon as accounts management will be rock solid, it will be easy to continue the development. It is like an alpha 1 release. There is no real documentation for now. Basically: 1/ Place backend/ on your SOGo server (eg: in /srv/www/webmail.example.com/SOGoAccountsManager/) 2/ Extract Slim Framework (tested with last stable, v2.1) and Zend Framework (tested with last stable, v2.0.2) in one of the PHP includes path: - /usr/share/php on RHEL6/CentOS6 - [...]/backend/library/ 3/ Edit [...]/backend/application/config.php 4/ Build the frontend with the SproutCore tools and upload it to your server (eg: /srv/www/webmail.example.com/SOGoAccountsManager/static/) 5/ Put this in your Apache config BEFORE the SOGo config: ProxyPass /SOGo/AccountsManager ! In my 1.3.15a configuration userPasswordAlgorithm was not configured, so passwords were stored in clear text. After upgrading to 1.3.16 LDAP passwords was saved in the form {none}clear_text_password. This has screwed up my authentication for Dovecot, which is authenticated on the same LDAP. Thus, the web interface started with a long timeout caused by mail module. However, I noticed that the contacts and calendars were functional. After I configured userPasswordAlgorithm to ssha or crypt I noticed that I could successfully change the password. Can anyone help me with some advice? Enterprise address books (= LDAP ones) are special. It is not allowed to download them completely. You only can search in them and get several matching address cards. On our system these are 25 addresses at most. This is intentional! In our example we have ca. 14000 users in this address book. To synch them all would be way too slow. Your client tries to download the complete address book content. So this will never work. That's the same problem as in other address book clients/apps/programs. Perhaps your client is able to only search in it? Perhaps can at least use autocompletion over searches? If yes, you have to configure it accordingly. As I don't know em Client at all, I can't help you there, sorry. Kind regards, Christian Mack Hi Christian, And thank you for your response. The log was generated by searching a single contact, not a full sync. And of course, autocompletion does not work with users from LDAP, which is very unpleasant. -- Relu -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

Thank you. Do you use the Connector add-on from Inverse with CardDAV or the LDAP connection provided by Thunderbird itself? If latter, then you have to ask this Mozilla. If not, which version of Connector are you using? Which other add-ons and plugins do you use? Has this effect to do with your account or with your machine? Kind regards, Christian Mack Hi, And thank you for your reply. In the meantime I found the cause for this strange behavior. I use SOGo connector and SOGo integrator version 10.0pre4 and my users are stored in LDAP. In SOGo i have in fact two domains, domain1 and domain2 and the problem was the ID key. For domain1 i put initially the ID public_domain1 and for the second domain the ID public_domain2 ( i don't remember now why i did it at setup stage). After I change both IDs in public the strange behavior is gone, TB load the Shared Addresses at start-up and make the look-ups just fine. After I search one bit deep I discovered that all my computers have that behavior, not just two of them. My mistake. -- Relu -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

Re: [SOGo] Thank you
SOGo is maybe the best piece of software I found in the last years. Big thank you for developers.
