[SOGo] Thunderbird 10 to 17 ( upgrade )

2013-03-04 Thread Louis-Philippe Gauthier
Hi,

We plan to move to Thunderbird 17 with Lightning 1.9 and SOGo extensions.

I saw this bug on Lightning :

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=827078

Without the release of Lightning 1.9.1, we can't use Lightning with SOGo ?

Do you know when this version will be release? There is a roadmap somewhere
?

( I don't want to use patches in a production environment).

Regards,

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 10 to 17 ( upgrade )

2013-03-04 Thread Steve Ankeny

Are you saying you won't use the nightlies?

https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists/arc/users/2013-02/msg00159.html

I do not know why Mozilla has not published the nightly as the
official extension.

However, it's worked great for our environment, and I can always update
later if a better candidate comes along. Simply place it in
'/var/www/plugins' and make sure 'updates.php' properly calls it.

Hi Ludovic Marcotte,

I followed the manual, but still does not work!
The Connector Integrator is installed and put as if they were not.
It makes no connection with the server SOGO.
Even with the add-ons have to create new remote calendar and point
to the server using URL
https://mycompany.com/SOGo/dav/USER/Contacts/personal/

Thanks

I'm not sure if I got your question/problem right:

1. You see another persons calendar but you should not see it, because
you have no rights set in sogo.

2. You see another persons calendar as set by the rights in sogo but
when you try to modify it, an error occurs.

If it is no. 2: Does the same error occur if you modify the calendar in

Hmmm... right clicking in the calendar pane should give you an option to
reload remote acls.
If this doesn't fix it, check in your prefs if the calendar is set read
only. (This is (a) dangerous and (b) tricky but can be done by directly
reading the prefs via Preferences dialogue...)

atm it is a safe choice -- there is only 10.0.1pre1 version of connector

Hi!

Thanks for your suggestions.

I just tried and two things happened:

(1) After restarting Thunderbird by following your steps, there were
TWO Personal Addressbooks that couldn't be deleted. So I created a new
remote addressbook to my CardDAV server.

(2) Clicking Synchronize pulled contacts from the server, but still
not the one that didn't sync before!!!

This seems like an interesting problem, but also frustrating. Does
anyone have any other ideas?

BTW I am running Thunderbird 10.0 with the just released SOGo
Connector on Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Thanks!

 Try this:

They're not synced automatically, but they are if you right click the
 address book and select synchronize.

However, there's a nasty problem (not new, it was there in the extension
 for
tb 3): if you want to completely refresh the address book and try to
 delete
abook.mab and abook-1.mab[*], when you restart thunderbird it will create
new ones, but they won't get existing addresses from the server, only
 newly
 inserted ones.

[SOGo] Thunderbird 10 Connector and the Calendar and Contacts Server

2012-02-14 Thread Daniel A. Mayer
Hi,

I am running the Calendar and Contacts Server
(http://trac.calendarserver.org/) to host calendars (caldav) and
contacts (carddav). I am trying to use the tb 10 sogo connector to
access the carddav addressbook. However, when I add a new addressbook
pointing to my sever, I get the following error messages for each entry
on the server when syncing:

unknown content-type: text/vcard;charset=utf-8(ignored)

I assume, sogo uses a different mimetype for its carddav entries than
the calendarserver does. Is there a way to make the mime type a config
option for the sogo connector? As far as I know there is no other usable
carddav client for Thunderbird out there.

Let me know if you need any more information. If you are interested, I
could contribute in the effort of adding this feature.

Thanks,
Daniel

They're not synced automatically, but they are if you right click the
address book and select synchronize.

However, there's a nasty problem (not new, it was there in the extension for
tb 3): if you want to completely refresh the address book and try to delete
abook.mab and abook-1.mab[*], when you restart thunderbird it will create
new ones, but they won't get existing addresses from the server, only newly
inserted ones.

[*]the same way you delete the calendar cache to force a complete download
from the server.

Bye

Can we get a response from Inverse regarding SOGo extensions for TB 10?
Possibly regarding the status of development, future releases, timeline(s),
 etc?

If not, at least knowing where SOGo extensions for TB 10 stand presently is
 still helpful.

We are working on them. A prerelease should be out this week.

Test a new release or addons before release it could be a good idea.
In this ML there are a lot of people that could help!
We can download and test it before final relase! And inverse can
prevent a,b release..

[SOGo] Thunderbird 10 Extensions

2012-02-05 Thread Daniel Erlacher
Hello

Since the extensions for Thunderbird are based on TB 3.1, I am wondering when
new versions for the latest Thunderbird will be available.

I am a user of Thunderbird 10.

Thanks a lot for your great work! I am in testing mode of SOGo

Cheers

Are you referring to the SOGo Connector extension for Thunderbird?

I've been waiting for it also. Is there a timeline (even a rough one)
for when an updated Connector might be released?

I would be willing to help with testing if needed.

Thanks for making SOGo so great!

[SOGo] Thunderbird 10 (Extended Support release) release is on Jan 31st, beta available

2012-01-18 Thread Fabian Rodriguez
Hi,

I'd encourage any SOGo admins/users using Thunderbird and awaiting for
their release 10 (and corresponding updated SOGo extensions) to join the
tb-enterprise Google Group or mailing list (both are the same):
http://groups.google.com/group/tb-enterprise
https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/tb-enterprise

Another beta for TB 10 will be available tomorrow so it's a great time
to report bugs there, and make sure TB 10 works, getting ready for next
SOGo versions. Having several SOGo users/testers there can only help the
SOGo project too. TB 10 target for release is Jan. 31st.

Regarding this, in order to validate the proper behavior of our ACL
hooks (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=586276), folks are
required to install the attached extension. That code will eventually be
included in SOGo Integrator once we go final on this for Thunderbird
10/Lightning 1.2.

You also need to do one more thing to enable the ACL hooks on your SOGo
Calendars. Once you've installed the extension, quit Thunderbird. Edit
the prefs.js manually and add something like:

user_pref(calendar.registry.42a2ce67-bafe-034d-8ff0-2db8c266faad.aclManagerClass,
@inverse.ca/calendar/caldav-acl-manager;1);

Where 42a2ce67-bafe-034d-8ff0-2db8c266faad is the GUID of your SOGo
calendar as defined by Lightning. Do a grep 'calendar.registry'
prefs.js | grep uri to see the list you have. Then, start Thunderbird.

This will also be included in SOGo Integrator at some point.

Would like to beta-test it with TB 10 nightly when it's ready
