I applied the patch with no success.. The patch works, compiles cleanly,
but does not affect anything and the error continues.. Perhaps I'm patching
it incorrectly or missing a step that is otherwise obvious, but I'm not
aware of..

To summarize: I've tried the patch, it failed(or I failed in applying it).

Hi,

Yup, read the archives to see what needs to be done. Specifically, you'll
need a patch to vpopmail.c

Rick

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have Courier-IMAP use
vipmap'd domains? I've asked the question before, but never got a complete
answer.. If anyone can help me out, it would be appreciated.. Thanks

[vchkpw] ucspi-tcp-0.88-mysql.patch

2002-11-06 Thread Frank Stars
Hi,

i've a Problem with the tcpserver-mysql-patch.

The patched tcpserver is installed and running with the -S option. It
looks like it reads the /var/qmail/control/sql - file. (When I change the
filename there is an error in the smtpd-logfile...)

My IP-Adress is in the mysql-db after I do pop3. But I can't relay.

I've installed the same on a test-system 2 weeks ago. There it works fine.
I've installed exactly the same, I think.

Do you have any hint?

Thanks,
Frank

[vchkpw] autorespond on OS X

2002-11-06 Thread Bill Shupp
Brad, all:

I just found that when compiling autorespond on OS X (jaguar, gcc 3.1),
you have to include fcntl.h *before* dirent.h. Otherwise, you get this:

/usr/include/sys/dirent.h:74: undefined type, found `u_int16_t'

Also, there is no group wheel, so chgrp root
/usr/local/bin/autorespond fails.

[vchkpw] SqWebmail denying some users but not others

2002-11-06 Thread Jeremy McNamara
I have a qmail+vpopmail+qmail-admin+SqWebmail installation here. I have
about 10 domains setup on this machine all working perfectly...I just
setup a new domain three days ago, some of the users of this new domain
can use SqWebmail without any trouble, but others absolutely cannot
login via webmail at all. I have deleted the accounts and recreated
them but still cannot login to SqWebmail but every user that cannot log
into SqWebmail can POP their mail with no trouble, so I know the account
works and passwords are correct.

I have gone through the installation docs four complete times now, and
everything is exactly the way it supposed to be including having
authvchkpw in /usr/local/share/sqwebmail/authdaemonrc

Is there some sort of logfile somewhere that tells me why a specific
user got denied webmail access???

Or could someone tell me why 8 users created using qmail-admin works
perfectly (pop and webmail) but 3 users created using qmail-admin can
only pop mail?

Interesting...I just created a 'tester' email account in this domain in
question and it cannot log into webmail, but I create a 'tester' in a
different domain and webmail works perfectly

hi all,

i modified my script and put my edquota commands at this end
 and now that s ok...

(before i ran them after my mkdir, chown, chmod, ... commands)

and i didn t take lsd, that s crazy!

perhaps i should, like that my scripts work time to time...
and most of time not!

i have no problem with

qmail-smtpd+vpopmail+qmail-pop3d

but with

qmail-smtpd+vpopmail+courier-imap
or
qmail-smtp+vpopmail+sqwebmail

what could i do except only use pop3 protocol?

the problem is only for postmaster
and appears or not in function of the system quota...

thanks a lot in advance, i have to know, it s crazy!

[vchkpw] qmail + vpopmail backup queue

2002-11-06 Thread Nate D.
A client of mine had their mailserver go down this week, and has asked me if
we can have ours act as a backup mailserver.

I've got a pretty standard LWQ qmail setup with vpopmail.

I have the client's mailserver's MX as 10, and my server as 20.

I did some research, and found that all I should have to do is add the domain
to the rcpthosts or morercpthosts, but make sure that it isn't added to
locals or virtualdomains. I also found out about the smtproutes file, but
seems that this file is only necessary if you need to force the server NOT to
use the MX records.

Here's my questions:

1. If I add the domain to morercpthosts, do I need to restart qmail or do
anything with vpopmail?

The reasons I ask are because I saw a morercpthosts.cdb and morerspthosts.lock
that I honestly don't remember seeing when I setup the server. Also, I added
the domain in question to morercpthosts and watched the e-mail enter the
queue and stay in there until I restarted qmail.

2. The smtproutes file doesn't exist in /var/qmail/control. Do I need it? If
so, would I just add the file and qmail would know what to do with it?

Sorry for the lengthy post. Any assistance is *much* appreciated. I normally
use vpopmail for domain additions/deletions, and I don't want to screw
anything up, as we have hundreds of domains on this server.

Thanks!!

Nate D.

No, just run /var/qmail/bin/qmail-newmrh to update the cdb file.

Yes, you'll need to add an entry to smtproutes like so:

domain:host

Where domain is the domain you are acting as a backup mail server for,
and host is the hostname of the server should receive the mail.

 FQDN /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d
 Maildir 21

And in log appear this message :

vpopmail[4828]: vchkpw: system user not found kambing:

Re: [vchkpw] very very very strange problem

2002-11-06 Thread tech
i m going to be really crazy...

i installed courier-imap version 1.5.3, 1.6 and the latest snapshot,
i also installed sqwebmail 3.3.7, 3.4 and the latest snapshot,
each time authentification for those users (some postmasters) failed.

in my mysql.log, we can see that vchkpw accept those users because
it update the timestamp in the lastauth table...
so what s wrong?

courier-imap - vchkpw - mysql - ...
sqwebmail - vchkpw - mysql - ...

i don t understand too why if i let quota fixed to 0 (unlimited)
when i create new users with my scripts i have no problem,
and if i fixed quota to 50MB, 100MB, 150MB i have that problem,
and not with the 3 others scripts (200Mb, 250MB and 300MB)

i really need help, please :-)

[vchkpw] deleting an alias domain

2002-11-06 Thread Kurt Bigler
It is unclear to me from the documentation how to delete an alias domain.

I was afraid to just remove the symbolic link from the domains directory,
thinking this might leave something not cleaned-up somewhere.

But I was also afraid to run vdeldomain on an alias domain, thinking it
might follow the symlink and delete the original domain.

So what is the right way to delete an alias domain using vpopmail?

Thanks,
Kurt Bigler
