Hello,

I'm trying to wakeup my Siemens Scaleo-T using WOL - but without
success :-(

The PC to wakeup:

- Siemens Scaleo-T AMD64 with Onboard LAN (Tulip chip)
- Linux 2.6.20 with ACPI enabled
- Gentoo amd64

The router:

- ASUS WL-500g Deluxe
- OpenWrt White Russian - With X-Wrt Extensions RC6
- WOL-Software: wol

What I've done:

- BIOS: Wakeup controlled by BIOS and WOL enabled
- Gentoo: echo -n PCI0 /proc/acpi/wakeup ; halt
- Router: wol -h PC-IP-Addr PC-MAC-Addr

I've configured the router to start wol periodically. On the PC
wireshark is now showing incoming UDP packets to the UDP port
4. The packet contains the ethernet frame, the IP header,
the UDP header and the magic data (6x 0xff and 16x MAC-Addr).

It seems all ok - but the PC will not be started.

What's going wrong? Should I use some ACPI sleep mode? Is this
supported by the DVB drivers? Is the Siemens PC not usable for
WOL?

Thanks for help,
Bernd

[vdr] Xineliboutput and G550

2007-11-29 Thread Kimmo Taskinen
My G550's DVI port is connected TV's HDMI. On software side have tried
xineliboutput's remote frontends. Otherwise everything is fine but I
have small issues with both X and DirectFB.

1. With vdr-sxfe I seem to have some tearing effect. Does XV support
sync-to-vblank?

2. With DirectFB the output seems to be limited to 16 bit colors. The
pixelformat and depth values should be OK in /etc/directfbrc.

Both setups are using 720p50.

Any advice which one is easier to solve? And how?

Yes its does. You can use xvinfo and xvattr to see the current

The problem is that the subtitles for hearing impaired people are
shown when watching recorded show. They are not shown if I watch the
same program as direct broadcast. Isn't there any way (except
completely disable subtitles) disable hearing impaired subtitles?

I find it strange that it would behave differently in live and replay
 mode.

I'm curently using 1.5.17 version with ttxtsubs and liemikuutio
patches. My language selection in DVB setup menu is suomi (finnish)
for both Audio and Subtitle language.

Does it also happen without these patches (and any other patches, for
 that matter)?

I tested 1.5.17 without any patches and only plugin I used was
xineliboutput. I was lucky to get REALLY suitable program for testing
from finnish YLE FST channel. There was a talk show where they talked
in finnish and swedish. The difference between live mode and replay
mode was interesting:
Live mode:
- talk in finnish: no subtitles
- talk in swedish: finnish subtitles
Replay mode:
case 1 (when start from a moment there is finnish talk)
- talk in finnish: swedish subtiles
- talk in swedish: no subtitles
OR
case 2 (when start from a moment there is swedish talk)
- talk in swedish: finnish subtitles
- talk in finnish: swedish subtiles
- talk in swedish: no subtiles anymore after finnish dialog

I hope you understand.

Another program (danish speaking series) from same channel. In live
mode I got finnish subtitle and in replay mode subtitles were in
swedish.

So t seems that live mode is OK but replay mode behaves really strange.

Language setup in DVB menu was still the same, suomi (finnish) for
Audio and Subtitle (only one language).

I can send you a sort clip if it would help you.

Re: [vdr] Hearing-impaired DVB subtitles

2008-03-09 Thread Kimmo Taskinen
Hi,

Your patch didn't fix this problem although it changed behaviour.

Subtitle language selection is now kind of inversed in replay mode. I
mean that when I select finnish subtitles (suomi) I'll get swedish ones
(during finnish talk and nothing during swedish talk) and the other way
around if I select swedish subtitles, I'll get finnish subtitles (during
swedish talk and nothing during finnish talk). Well first I suspected
that the subtitle language ids were mixed in broadcast but then I tested
it with new broadcast. It's info.vdr is here:

C C-0-1-5 YLE FST5
E 469 1205088615 3609 4E E
T Dokumentti: Tangoa, riitoja ja reumasärkyä
S Hans ja Kerstin ovat olleet 50 vuotta naimisissa. Nyt on ikä alkanut

piristäisi heitä kumpaakin. Toimittaja Jerzy Sladkowski, SVT/Ruot
X 1 04 fin
X 3 11 fin
X 3 11 sve
X 2 03 sve

Everything was OK in live mode (I got finnish subtitles as I had
selected them) but during replay I got swedish subtitles. If I selected
swedish subtitles from DVB setup then I got finnish subtitles during
replay but nothing during live mode (it was swedish spoken document).

Unfortunately I had log level set to 0 and there wasn't PID settings

changing pids of channel 8 from 514+514:670=eng:0:2321 to

In the PID settings they have the first audio PID set to sve and
the second one to fin, while in the EPG data it's the other way
 round.

In live mode the PID data is used when selecting the audio track,
while in replay mode the EPG data takes precedence.

I just wonder why Petri Helin (see his recent posting in this thread)
 gets correct behavior.

@Petri: can you please also post the PID and info data you get?

It's not a big problem as it's only related to exiting the frontend

It's the yesterday's cvs version. I can't say when did it start.

I will try with the CVS version, anyway I don't think it's

fault, since it's working on the main PC (also with crop enabled).
I suspect it's some dependencies missing on the client...

The obvious one to check is that you have the autocrop post plugin in

You could start vdr-sxfe with argument --verbose and see if there

I'm not quite sure if I understood your problem right. So you get the
right codes with irw and have put them on remote.conf. remotes.conf as
you wrote is not right place.
Do you start vdr with --lirc option? If you use --lirc for vdr-sxfe
you should give --lirc to vdr (at least I don't).

cheers, Kimmo

 Hello all,

Please help me with remote control configuration since I'm breaking
my head on a wall for more than a week already. RC is the only thing
at the moment that stops me using the VDR as my main TV source.

I've bought a nifty (and cheap) remote and a nice USB receiver.
Looks like a clone of MCE remote. It has a small joystick to control
 the mouse.
The USB receiver pass keyboard and mouse events to the system, so I
can use it instead of my keyboard without any LIRC configuration.
BUT, I do want to use LIRC since I want to bound one of the buttons
for other tasks (such as switching to XBMC or running vdr-sxfe to
pass sound to my sound system instead of the TV).

 irw works ok.
I've set /etc/lircrc to pass the commands to vdr-sxfe and ircat
 shows them successfuly.
I've added some commands such as LIRC.Volume+ and LIRC.Volume-
manually to remotes.conf, but it doesn't really help.

I can run vdr-sxfe with --lirc and see that it receives the codes
direcly without my lircrc configuration, but it will miss many
features since some of the RC buttins send sequnce of keys, which
can be catched using lircrc configuration.
Without specifying --lirc, vdr-sxfe seems to receive the keyboard
commands instead the commands from LIRC.

 Can anyone help me please?

People who have the original MCE remote, does your IR receiver also
pass keyboard commands to the system?
I saw that as soon as there is a connection to lircd (such as with
irw or ircat) the keyboard events are not passed the system any more
 and that's good, but vdr-sxfe doesn't connect unless I'll use the --
 lirc switch.

 I'm stuck with that.

 Any help will be appreciated.
 Thanks.

Re: [vdr] vdr-sxfe + remote control

You're right. It was my typo as I was suppose to write If you use --
lirc for vdr-sxfe you should NOT give --lirc to vdr (at least I
don't)..

Sorry.

No, that will not work. If you give both vdr and vdr-sxfe the option
--lirc you will get every action twice. I use the option --lirc with
vdr-sxfe and the option --lirc=/dev/null with vdr, so that I can use
lirc with xbmc after I have stopped vdr-sxfe without stopping vdr.

Magnus,

What kind of remote controller / IR receiver are you using?
Does it have integrated receiver supporting lirc?

[vdr] FullHD OSD problem

2009-08-25 Thread Kimmo Taskinen

Hi,

I am still using 1.6.0-2 and have patched it for FullHD OSD (http://www.vdrportal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=79647threadview=0hilight=hilightuser=0page=1
). Frontend is xineliboutput-cvs (vdr-sxfe in other computer; tcp
connection) and skinenigmang-0.1.0 is in use. Everything seems fine
except that if I use antialiased fonts there is one problem that I
have noticed only with epgsearch plugin Schedule view. The problem
is that Schedule is not shown if the OSD should be really full. With
short EPG info the schedule is shown.

The problem seems to be in buffering as I get following message in /
var/log/messages:
Aug 25 18:04:35 server vdr: [7573] [xine..put] write_osd_command:
socket buffer full, OSD send skipped (got 262142 ; need 302366

256k seems to be the limit.

Is it the problem in vdr, xineliboutput, epgsearch or somewhere else?
OK I understand that these versions were not designed for fullHD
support but anyways it would be nice fix this.

I can avoid problem by disabling anti-alias fonts or setting Try 8bpp
single area: no from skinenigmang options.

Re: [vdr] vdpau experience

2009-10-28 Thread Kimmo Taskinen

Hi,

I noticed couple of issues with vdpau extention patch set v11:
xineliboutput-cvs-20091013-vdpau-extensions-v11.diff.gz
xine-lib-1.2-vdpau-r284-extensions-v11.diff.gz

1. Cropping is not reseted if I switch to 16:9 channel that has the
same resolution as 4:3 channel that has turn on the cropping.
2. DVB subtitles are not positioned correctly during cropping if vdr-
sxfe is used to show subtitles. Vertical alignment is about at half of
the screen.

where is the problem? Just do an

Re: [vdr] xineliboutput vdpau crop

2010-01-04 Thread Kimmo Taskinen
Hi,

Yes, I'm using VDPAU.

And YES the patch seemed to fix issue 2, at least subtitles are much better
positioned during cropping. Thanks.

Issue 1 still remains. The problem is easy to notice at Welho network
(Helsinki) when switching channel between TV5MONDE (often 4:3 letterbox) and
Deutsche Welle (16:9). DW remains cropped when switched from TV5MONDE and the
cropping was turned on for it.
