I'm looking into purchasing some new editing software because I'm quite fed up with windows movie maker, does anyone know of any really good editing programs that export in the quicktime format and cost less than $100? A lot of people like Sony Vegas and they have a lite version that's well spoken of. Not sure if it's under $100 but it's in that range. Re: [videoblogging] TV/radio covering blogs
I don't usually watch CNN, but caught it one day while they had a program running called In the blogs... a sign of the times. The topic of decentralized vs centralized media, especially news, is a very complicated one with alot of hard questions. While i like the decentralized media myself, there is always the questions of echo chambers. I guess the real question is if we want one big echo chamber (mass media) or increasing number of smaller ones (rss feeds, social news networks, etc) It's all getting cyper punk :) -Addi http://esc.chicorockstar.com On 1/22/06, Jay dedman [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I was listeing to the radio in the car yesterday and heard a whole show about blogging. [videoblogging] Re: question about sony vegas software
Well, it is the transitions. What works on TV and movies does not necessarily work well with web video. My understanding of this is that you should try to avoid using transitions other than fades and dissolves. Now this is not a bad thing. If you can work around the constrictions you can come up with some nice looking stuff that will not hurt your visitor's eyes. However, for every rule cited someone will bring up a bunch of wonderful exceptions. I have used Swish Max (a low cost flash alternative) if I really wanted to create something that I can overlay in my video editing program. It also has limited free trial at www.pinnaclesys.com Always try before you buy. All three $99 sotware are much better than Windows Movie Maker: Ulead, Pinnacle, and Adobe Elements. If you hate Windows Movie Maker you will hate even more the Avid Free DV--very very limiting on outputs and creative options.
