There's only the £5/10/20 in general circulation, £50 tend not to be trusted

Hello. Get the app Enotify and you can set various different alerts for
certain types of emails, battery alerts, and data usage just to name a
few. The app is completely voice over friendly and the developer is good
at responding to suggestions and bug reports. If necessary I can provide
the app store link, however if you simply search for the app name as I
wrote it you should be able to find it just fine. I believe the developers
name is Josh but I can't remember the last name.

I think what we should really have is a translation circuit like they have in

What is the easiest way to create group messages?

2015-04-30 Thread Sandratomkins
Hallo the list!

I know that I have created a small group of 3 people in my messages app,
but a friend of mine, new to the iphone, needs to create a group which would
send text messages to upwards of 70 people, on a regular basis. Can he do this?
I am imagining it is possible as it is the sort of thing that one has to do
when in business or involved in some sort of group project.

What he would need to be able to do is set up the first message, add in all
the necessary contacts to it, and, from then on, only need to choose that group
message and all future messages would go to all of the chosen contacts. Can he
do it?

The poor man is suffering because he is trying to adjust from a Nokea,
which he is missing like an old friend!

Thanks for any tips,
Sandy.

Re: Apple TV audio

2015-04-30 Thread Jesper Holten
Hi.
You can also buy a da converter that enables you to connect digital
audio to the converter and from the converter you can use rca analog
cables to your stereo. That way you do not need to have the tv on for
playing music or youtube videos. However, if you want to have the
audio from a movie e.g. from netflix, you have to have the hdmi
connection active.
I have bought a Arcam dA converter with remote control with 2 toslink
in and 2 digital coaxial in as well as 2 usb connections in. And then
it has rca and line out.

If you have the latest Apple TV, it will have an HDMI port, the rectangle
one that feels like a USB. You can do what I did and buy a little box that
connects to the port and then use a patch cord to run the audio to your RCA
jacks on the stereo. The RCA jacks are the pair of inputs. This little box
plugs into the wall for its power, and I got this one on Amazon for about
$30:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KBHX072/
When you get it, set the switch to the middle position for audio output to
the RCA on the little box. This box is an HDMI switch. It's used for those
times when you have an input on a tv, but no way to get the audio to your
stereo. Enjoy.

Rotor action changes without intervention

2015-04-30 Thread Todd W
Hi All,

I'm wondering if this is a common scnario. It seems like it's been
happening since the release of iOS 8, but I can't be certain. Here's
what's happening on both my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 running iOS 8.3:

When either on the lock screen with iMsg or txt message alerts being
displayed or in the Messages app, a single finger flick announces the next
Action menu item, where you can delete or activate, etc. If I perform a
delete and then flick on the next message the rotor selection has moved
from Actions to another item, typically headings. It seems to be moving to
whatever the next counter clockwise item in the rotor is. This seems to
only be happening with Messages and doesn't crop up when deleting other
types of notifications. Is this something that others are experiencing?
It's beginning to drive me bananas...

Thanks,

Todd

I have used windows 8.1 with iTunes.
It is very easy to use.
How ever I was using iTunes 11 at the time.
Now I can't speak for iTunes 12 or later because I never used iTunes 12 on

Re: Rotor action changes without intervention

2015-04-30 Thread Alex Hall
I can confirm this one. My personal theory is that it happens when any
notification on the screen has an update too it's relative time (as in it goes
from, say, 1 minute ago to 2 minutes ago), but I can't be sure. I've seen it
happen with emails most often, but other notifications as well. Definitely
report this to Apple!

I'm wondering if this is a common scnario. It seems like it's been happening

on both my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 running iOS 8.3:

When either on the lock screen with iMsg or txt message alerts being
displayed or in the Messages app, a single finger flick announces the next
Action menu item, where you can delete or activate, etc. If I perform a
delete and then flick on the next message the rotor selection has moved from
Actions to another item, typically headings. It seems to be moving to
whatever the next counter clockwise item in the rotor is. This seems to only
be happening with Messages and doesn't crop up when deleting other types of
notifications. Is this something that others are experiencing? It's
 beginning to drive me bananas...

the latter, just hit the Compose button, add all the contacts, and send a

 Can he do it?

Re: Any battery ffull notification app?

2015-04-30 Thread Alan Lemly
I think the confusion about eNotify is partly due to its presentation in the
Apps store. And I'm speaking of the US Apps store.

On my iPhone 6, searching for eNotify brings up first the app eNotify by
Varietas Software for $4.99 that includes in app purchases. That company also
has some sort of eNotify add-in pack as well as a free eNotify version. I
believe the fourth listing or maybe it was the third is eNotify Basic with josh
Pressnell listed as the developer. This basic version is listed at a price of
$1.99 with in-app purchases. The odd thing is that the description for both the
Varietas and Pressnell versions are identical as far as I could tell.

I have no clue why the Apps store would show two Apps similarly described with
two different developers. Maybe Pressnell sold some of his app to Varietas or
set up a new company to market the app but I find the Apps store presentation
more than a little confusing.

Maybe Raul or someone else more familiar with the app can clear up this
confusion.

Hello. Get the app Enotify and you can set various different alerts for
certain types of emails, battery alerts, and data usage just to name a few.
The app is completely voice over friendly and the developer is good at
responding to suggestions and bug reports. If necessary I can provide the
app store link, however if you simply search for the app name as I wrote it
you should be able to find it just fine. I believe the developers name is
Josh but I can't remember the last name.

For some reason, our HD TV doesn’t have audio out jacks other than the Digital
Audio out.

So, after looking at the different converter boxes and reading reviews, I’ve
just ordered the FiiO D3 DAC.

It is $23.99 with free shipping.

I ordered it through Amazon, but a third party company sells it and they don’t
charge shipping.

I should have it in about a week.

Thanks again,

Re: iCloud and Pages

2015-04-30 Thread Kevin Gibbs
Do both the computer and the iPhone have to be turned on in order for sink to
occur? I've been leaving my iPhone and Pages Open, sometimes with my phone
charging Bybee and connected to AC. But I haven't had any results. This may be
because my Mac Mini is completely turned off. Do both devices have to be turned
on. One and the same time? It seems to me that once the file is saved in the
cloud Drive it should be in the cloud regardless of whether both devices are
turned on or not.

Re: iCloud and Pages

2015-04-30 Thread Andrew Lamanche
The thing is that these things shouldn't have to happen if icloud is supposed
to work properly. We can't go on switching things on and off while data is
being lost to fix something that is supposed to be working in the business
environment where data is money. So I don't quite know what's going on. I'm
thoroughly fed up with the reliability of icloud. I don't trust to put in it
any data. Back to the usb drive stick. smile

Re: A question about an app called my Q for A lift master garage door opener

2015-04-30 Thread Richard Turner
First, try doing the pass through gesture, double-tap and hold then when you
hear the tri-tones do another double tap.
If that doesn't work, you will want to contact the app developer.
If they don't provide a contact link in the app, look at the app store
description and toward the very bottom there is often a spot that says app
support or developer website, double tap on that spot and you should find more
information.

Switching a Live Non-Apple Device Call from iPhone to Mac via Continuity, Can It Be Done?

2015-04-30 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

I am cross-posting this to both the Mac and iOS mailing lists.

Question: Can one send a live call from iPhone to the Mac via Continuity?

As an F.Y.I.:
All aspects of Continuity are working between my iOS devices running 8.3 and
my Macs running the latest version of OSX.

Also, I can easily switch a previously Mac-answered incoming non-Apple
device call back to my primary iPhone by simply activating the Switch to
call button located at the top of the display, on the iPhone acting as the
conveyance for the call.

All Replies Welcomed.

Mark

iCloud and Pages

2015-04-30 Thread Kevin Gibbs
Guys,
I am having problems with Pages and iCloud in iOS 8.3 and Yosemite. From what
I understand, if I make changes to a document on either my Mac Mini or my
iPhone, those changes should be reflected in both documents over the network.
The changes don't seem to be reliably taking place on each other's devices.
What might I be doing wrong? And how can I check to make sure that my documents
are being updated correctly?

Re: iCloud and Pages

2015-04-30 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Kevin and all,

The iCloud folder for voice Dream Writer disappeared completely from my
computer. I wrote to Winston, and he had me turn off iCloud Drive on my
computer and then turn it back on. This made the folder resync properly. You
might want to try the same thing. You could also try, after turning it off and
on on the computer, doing the same on your phone.

HTH,
Anna

Re: iCloud and Pages

2015-04-30 Thread Harry Bell
I do find that there is a bit of a lag between making changes to a Pages
document on one device and these changes coming through on another device.
Sometimes a Pages document sits and sits in my Pages app with the top right
corner folded back (indicating that it is updating itself into iCloud) and only
seems to complete when I close the Pages app and dismiss it from the app
switcher. Harry
