RE: iTunes, jaws and win10.

2016-04-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You can easily add the files of a particular folder to your iTunes music
library, but I don't know of a way how you can add just those particular files
to a playlist.
You can create a Playlist and add songs to it one by one or add songs to any
existing playlist, but I am not sure if it is possible to rearrange these songs
later into a different order with the current version of iTunes

hi,
just want to ask since my question is related to this, can we add all files
inside a folder to itunes library and then make them go into one playlist? can
jaws/other screen reader users do it? if can, how?
thanks and sorry if offtopic.

Re: marking all email in inbox in the mail app to "read"

2016-04-08 Thread Richard Turner

Not without first hitting edit in the upper right, then double tapping each
message so it says "selected" and then flick up with one finger to where it
says "more" and double tap, then double tap on "mark" then double tap on "mark
read."
There is not yet a select all option which would make this kind of thing much
easier.

Hello listers,

Whatsapp is very accessible. We can make a call, answer a call, leave
voice messages however long we wish, listen to voice messages, send and
receive text messages in whatever language we wish, participate in groups
and more. However, the main initiator of this subject was asking about
installing the application. Please someone help him. I would have; but I
don't remember all the steps. I had a friend help me set it up and ever
since I never needed to do it again. All I can say is that it was not
complicated. It was done smoothly.

Have a good weekend everybody

I happen to have one. I am also looking at doing the same thing for the

2016-04-08 Thread John J. Fioravanti, Jr.
Haven't gotten that far with it, just could answer a call with the two finger
double-tap.

Hello,

Yes, I use it all the time. It is very accessible. I have the 6+ Iphone.

I just make sure I have selected the contact I want, and then I swipe over to
the voice recording, I double tap and hold my finger down, speak what I want,
as far as I know, there is no time limit.

Once you lift the finger however, the message is automatically sent.

No need to press a send key etc.

There is also an option to just send a normal text in the same app.

I have not messed around with groups and such.

Hopefully someone else can explain those if you need them.

Uses Whatsapp all the time and, aside from while listening to a
voice message, you can't swipe reliably to the one, especially when
working with groups, it's very very accessible!

Re: Discrete, long-lasting, bluetooth headset recommendation

2016-04-08 Thread Moop Curran
Hi,
Thanks for the recommendation. I went ahead and ordered a pair of these, and
thanks to amazon prime, I got them today. They're super small, however, I
can't figure out how to get them to stay in my ears. Does the rubber loop on
the earbud go behind my ear or somewhere else? I know the earbud part sits in
my ear canal, but without knowing how that loop thing should be placed, I'm
having difficulty. Anyone who owns a pair of these earbuds, any insight would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Moop

Hi,

Why not use Blind Square with a bone conduction headset? Your ears are totally
free to hear your traffic while still hearing Blind Square on both sides. Your
phone can then be held in any carrier.

Dianne,
Have you tried wearing earbuds, where one side is open to traffic and
environmental sounds, and the other you have an earbud in and are getting
information from BlindSquare? I wear hearing aids as well and this setup has
worked great for me.

Mary, Maybe you could go back to your previous backed up library before you

future and then you could back up your library just in case and then try
turning on iCloud sync.

Good luck,
Christina

Re: Blind Square V. Sendero Seeing Eye.

2016-04-08 Thread Wayne Merritt
I like having BlindSquare in one earbud since part of my daily trip
home has me riding on the bus and I don't want to disturb other
passengers. Plus, I can listen to tunes while I'm getting information
from BlindSquare. The problem I have with bone conduction headphones
is most of the ones I have looked at, don't fit my large head. And
they are not adjustable like headphones. I do also take the earbud out
before crossing streets.

As stated earlier though, different strokes for different folks.

My voiceover is not indicating which words are misspelled. I went into general
settings keyboard and check spelling is enabled. But when I swipe left and
right it doesn't say misspelled even if a word clearly is misspelled. My other
iPhone did this just fine. The voiceover isn't indicating which words are
misspelled anymore

RE: Voiceover voices

2016-04-08 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Paul,

I setup a different voice for notifications using the VoiceOver Activities
feature. In order to make certain that I would not forget how to setup such a
service, I wrote a short document, the contents of which, I will paste in,
below.

Hopefully, it will provide enough information to get you started.

Okay, here it is:

How To Set A VoiceOver Activity for Notification Center info

NOTE:
This document assumes that you know how to create and configure VoiceOver
Activities.

Generally speaking, I prefer my default system VO Voice to be Alex. However, I
want any and all of my system notifications to use my beloved Samantha voice.

The short answer:

To set a VoiceOver Activity for the Mac OSX Notification Center, when selecting
a finder app in the Activity configuration process, simply locate the
Notification Center app and select it. The notification app is located in the
Core Services Folder of the Library folder which is located on the hard drive’s
system folder.

The long answer is that when you Click on the Find App option during the
Activity creation process, you will be placed in the Applications folder. The
Notification Center app is located in a different place. You must find the
correct folder and then simply select the Notifications.app file.

A.
First, open the computer’s hard drive.
Second, open the System folder.
Third, open the Library folder.
Fourth, open the CoreServices folder.
Fifth, select the Notification.app file.

or

B.
Use the Command + Shift + G key-combo and type in
/System/Library/CoreServices/
to get to the correct folder, super fast.

Good Luck and Enjoy.

Mark

I have to agree, but I just don’t travel as much as I use to in strange
environments so just can’t justify it for only two to three times a week and
only if I get off course.. Blind square wor4ks very well for me and along with
google maps, apple maps and navigin spelled wrong I think I have enough
options. I will say that having it distinguish what side of the street you and
or places are on would be great. Wonder if blind square could do this in the
future?

I am sorry to say that Sendero’s price for their product has gone too high for
this old lady. I do have Blind Square and do Like it. My problem is that I
can’t found a pouch or carrying case which will place the phone near enough to
my ears and hearing aids so that I can truly hear what it is telling me. I am
afraid to use my special Bluetooth device which comes with my hearing aide
because, I still must listen for traffic and what is going on around me. This
has been my issue with most of these navigational programs and devices. . I
work a guide dog and use a balance cane and no longer hae a hand free to hold
the de ice where I can hear it.

They are both good products, but difficult for me to use.

RE: Blind Square V. Sendero Seeing Eye.

2016-04-08 Thread Ron Pelletier

RE: iPhone, Outlook.com ail and Windows Live Mail?

2016-04-08 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi,

I have an Outlook.com account and I had to go in and check a box that says
something like: delete from server when deleted from your devices. This is not
the exact wording but its easy to recognize the box.

Hi Jim, sometimes there is a setting that you need to change what to do with a
deleted message.

And you needed to say something like delete from server.

I've never used your set up, but I have used an IMAP and that was a problem I
was having as well. I hope this helps. Tom

Good morning,

Here’s hoping I can get an answer to something I might be doing wrong.

One of my students has his Outlook.com account set up on
his phone. Now, he has a laptop and is learning to use Windows Live Mail. I
set up that same Outlook.com account on his laptop with
Windows Live Mail and used the iMap settings. My thought was that it would
sync across all devices. However, when my student tries to delete a message on
his phone, it still shows up on his computer. When he deletes a message on his
computer, it still shows up on his phone. I thought iMap was supposed to sync.

If this is not a good solution, I’ll need to do something different.

Thanks much.

Jim

Re: Whats APP.

2016-04-08 Thread Gerardo Corripio
Uses Whatsapp all the time and, aside from while listening to a voice
message, you can't swipe reliably to the one, especially when working
with groups, it's very very accessible!

My voiceover is not indicating which words are misspelled. I went into general

right it doesn't say misspelled even if a word clearly is misspelled. My other

Have any of you re-created your folder systems? I just wonder, because I'm
sort of afraid to do it, knowing that somehow somewhere, the system still
must think I have folders, since my "no folder" list is a far smaller than
my "all items" list it will be a royal pain in the you know what to
re-create this deal. But doing it twice will really be unacceptable. I'm
already kind of disgusted that we lost our book share authors in the
upgrade. It seems like that is something that Winston could have checked for
before releasing the product. But what's done is done I suppose.

Re: Is anybody having any success with the Fleksy keyboard?

2016-04-08 Thread Krister Ekstrom
And remember, Fleksy doesn’t work at once, there’s a learning curve. If i were
to change phones today, i’d probably have to relearn Fleksy again. As i said
when the tutorial was published and i hope it made its way into the tutorial,
patience, patience and yet more patience. If you really want to use fleksy
which i do all the time, it takes a bit of sitting down and typing away. If
it’s of any help to you there’s an extension that comes with the keyboard
called ”one handed” this shrinks the keyboard a little and makes it easier to
type with one hand.

Re: weather app

2016-04-08 Thread Lois Butterfield

Hi Lois,

There is an edit button at the bottom right if it's the same as the phone.
Double tap that. When you touch the city you want to delete, do a 1-finger
swipe up. You should hear delete. Double tap, and it's gone.

I apologize if the IPod touch does not work the same. I just thought it
might.

Take care,
