How about the automatic battery conservation feature? I like how iOS
13 is designed to increase wear and tear on the battery, extending its

RE: Accessibility of hang outs

2019-12-23 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Tara,

If your friend is blind or low vision, you may suggest that he / she use the
Google Voice app instead of Hang-outs. The only advantage that I know of, in
hangouts, is the ability to make video calls. However, if your friend only
wants to make audio calls, then Google Voice will do the job much better as it
remains VoiceOver accessible. Of course, your friend will need a GV number for
the best experience. Simply stated, Google Voice is a subset of Google
Hangouts.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I have not attempted to use Hangouts on any
of my Apple devices so there may be some good accessible workarounds of which I
am not aware.

Good Luck,

Mark

So, if you want VoiceOver silent when flicking, did you try going to
Accessibility, VoiceOver, Audio, Sound, and turning it off there?
That seems to turn off all the sounds.
Or, you can go through each sound setting in there and preview each one and
then decide if you want to turn it off.
The main ones you are maybe talking about are the ones with item in their name.

have set that you can be contacted by.
I'll bet her email or phone number are selected along with yours.

Re: Bluetooth headphones

2019-12-23 Thread Curtis Delzer
Tribit XSFREE tune     , from Amazon, have many real nice features; they
sound great, no lag, or cutting out with speech from the iPhone, and you
can listen to both the 1/8 inch input at the same time as blue tooth,
which I am doing right now on these phones. I bought mine from Mr.
Harbolt for a bunch more than what Amazon does sell them for, which is
unfortunate, however, there is a lot to recommend them.

Hopefully you haven't already decided, because this message is so far
behind, but I do hope this does help. These phones have good frequency
response and stereo imaging. They also connect to blue tooth faster than
anything I've used b4 and that is considerable. :)

The batteries in them last a good bit of time, and the controls are
unobtrusive, and yet intuitive.

Does anyone know any that work with the speech without lagging.

RE: What is Audio Ducking

2019-12-23 Thread Richard Turner
It lowers the volume of other audio when VoiceOver is speaking.
It is on your rotor and you are maybe accidentally flicking on it; but in any
case, if yu don't want it, make sure it is off, then go to the VoiceOver
Settings, Rotor, and find it and assuming it says selected; double tap so it
just says audio ducking without saying selected and that will remove it from
the rotor so you won't have to deal with it again.

Subject: What is Audio Ducking

Hi,

Often, when I am using aps on my phone, I will hear "audio ducking on" or
"audio ducking off, as I touch the screen". I'm not sure this is something I
am using, especially since I don't have any idea what it does..

Is there any way to hide it, so I don't have to keep hearing it turn on and off?

Thanks.

Re: Images in Facebook Messenger.

2019-12-23 Thread 'Candie Stiles' via VIPhone
Have you tried double tapping and holding on the image? Usually this brings up
a dialogue box with the option to save the image. When you double tap on save,
a list of apps will appear and you can double tap on the one you want to
recognize the image.

I received the same message over a month ago.
Time will tell.

the free GPS app Magic Earth was mentioned on list a while back, so I thought

Thank you for contacting us and for sharing this feedback.

While it is true we do not have labels for all buttons in Magic Earth so it
can be used with Voice-Over, the feature is analyzed for future versions of
the app. The development case is C2165, I will let you know as soon as I
have news on the subject.

In the meantime, we are here to help if you have any other questions or
suggestions. Safe travels!

Subject: Magic Earth for visually impaired

I have very little sight left and would love a reliable gps app to give me
turn by turn directions and help me know where I am. Your app seems really
interesting - is there any chance you could make it accessible enough to
work with voiceover? At the moments the buttons are unlabelled, so they are
spoken as gibberish!
Thanks

Images in Facebook Messenger.

2019-12-23 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello,

If one receives a message via Facebook that contains an image, how can you save
it so that it can be analysed by apps like Envision AI?

I have a message forwarded by a friend that contains an image. I have tried
all that I can think of to save the image but to no avail.

Any suggestions welcome.

Malcolm
