Hi,I am wondering, any one has this problem, running IOS 17.1 beta, i cannot pair 2 out of 3 external keyboards. No matter of what I do, turn off the phone, turn off Bluetooth, remove the devices, but still no success. The devices show on screen, but just cannot make the connection. Now, i just need to wait for the next beta release and hopefully it will solve the issue. Grateful for you!Danny On Oct 3, 2023, at 1:54 PM, Sieghard Weitzel  wrote:

For me I always had my custom ringtones under Sounds > Ringtone, but under the other categories like Text, Voicemail I did not.
Anyways, I installed iOS 17.1 Developer Beta and just checked and now all my custom tones are also back and I can use them for text tone, voice mail, email etc.

No, I'm referring to tones you create, save as m4r files and add to your phone. That is not available in the iOS 17 or 17.0.1.

person or independently. But business is int3rested in numbers, so, if we want 
this to grow, we need to get scanning!!! This is my mission in life, for the 
present... 

   People don't know that you can get iron-on clothing labels, not for free, 
but you can record any info you like on them, colour, washing instructions etc. 
There is so much potential for these codes and for us! Watch this space for the 
new NaviLens User Group on the IO platform!!!

I like the easy cleaning part! Plus able to issue command to clean a specific 
room. I have a golden retriever guide dog and wit hard floor environment. You

Unfortunately it happens to my 10R! Fully  charge only lasted less around half 
day. I turned off most of the background  refreshing and have turned off and on 
the phone. I will monitor it in next few days.

I have the same problem; lost focus in several apps. 

More noticeable is WhatsApp and the Blue Litter Bible apps. Sometime in the 
native email app.

Hopefully these issues will be resolved in 14.1.

For example when on a log-in screen, I fill in my user and password then flick 
to the logon button and focus jumps back to the edit field where I entered my 
password. In order to focus on the logon button I had flick past it to the next 
element then flick back. Once I did that, focus stayed where I wanted it.
I will be reporting this to Apple accessibility and hope others will too.

Lost Voice when using Voice Dream Writer with IOS 14

Hi all,

Have anyone encounter voiceover loss when using Voice Dream Writer after 
updated to IOS 14?

First time happened was when I was editing a large file in VDW (Voice Dream 
Writer), Voiceover was totally shut off. I tried to ask Siri to turn off VO and 
then turned on again, but there was still no sound. I tried to raised up the 
volume but it did not work either. Only way to bring VO back was to turn off 
the phone and turned it on again.

Second incident was less serious, VO does not automatically reading the text 
when I was navigating the cursor by word / paragraph / heading in VDW.

Have anyone have the same problem and how did you resolve them? Many thanks in 
advance for your respond.

Happen to both shift keys and with different keyboards. It only occurs in 1 
app.

If it is only in that one place, then I’d suspect an app issue.
If it happens other places, then that might be a keyboard issue.
 
Is it just one shift key, or both?
 
I’ve had no issues with the shift keys anywhere, but I don’t use that app.

I need to clarify, the shift key does not work in WhatsApp app. It is working 
fine in the mail app. 
 

I am not sure it is IOS 13 or WhatsApp issue.

In Fantastical, double tap and hold on the go to today button. Now these become 
picker items and you can choose the date you want to go to. Then double tap on

GPS App works in open area

Hello all,

Any one knows a good / reliable GPS app that works in an open area, like 
parking lot or in the park?

 

I have to go through a few parking lots to enter my work’s building. I would 
like to use an gps app to help myself to train my new guide dog. I have tried 
MyWay lite app as a test, unfortunately, I found it wasn’t able to show me 
point 1 to point 2 throughout the rout. Even I have used it to mark down the 
rout first. Thus, I am hesitating to spend the money for the full version. 

 

Can anyone give me some idea / advice on this matter?

I too bought the Plantronics voyager Edge and have to sent back after couple of 
weeks. My situation were (1) sometime the Edge turned itself back off when I 
switched it on; (2) often the audio went back and fore the headset and the 
phone when I was on the call. Holding down the call button did not work. (3) 
often the play and pause feature did not work when pressing the button. In 
short, I found it very unreliable and could not help me much. Especially I am 
very depending on BT headset because of my work.

 

I owned couple pairs of Aftershokz headsets but they were not great for 
talking. Now I am in the market of shopping for a good BT headset.

I have a Jabra Supreme which is sitting on the ear and is held in place with a 
plastic bar/loop that goes behind the ear. It is a folding design which is 
actually nice, as soon as you unfold the little boom it is on and when you fold 
it in again it is off.

It has voice controls as in you can say things like “Answer” when the phone is 
ringing and it picks up the call and it works well. Call quality is good and I 
think all in all Jabra makes good products. Mine is some years old and 
primarily I don’t like one thing and that is the fact that it does not have a 
Play/Pause function. On my new Plantronics Edge I can push the little button at 
the top of the boom and hold it for a moment and that will do the Play/Pause. I 
also think the Edge with it’s in the ear design is more comfortable. It doesn’t 
really sit deeply into the ear, just a bit and I don’t notice much of a 
difference as far as how much outside noise it blocks versus the Jabra. Only 
problem is that my Edge which is only a few weeks old seems to be already not 
working properly. Lately I get a lot of people telling me they can’t hear me to 
the point where I switch it off and use the phone and SIRI rarely understands a 
command which leads me to believe the the microphones are not picking up my 
voice properly any more. This was not a problem at all in the beginning and 
I’ll have to call Plantronics next week to see if I can get this replaced.

This has been a continuing problem. For whatever reason when you plug something 
in the headphone jack of the iPhone it takes the wired and blue tooth audio 
away. I got a new blue tooth Square reader which takes the chip cards but 
haven't had a chance to see if it will allow me to use VO as I usually don't 
actually get to see the credit card. Do you use a Braille display? I found that 
a blue tooth connected Braille display continues to work even though voice is 
off.

Well i think there’s something wrong with my head too, because i can’t get the 
microphone in the Bluez2 S to sound right, so to speak. If i wear the head set 
the way it’s supposed to be worn, noone hears what i say through the mike,

the headset at all is lost. Is the Trekz any better for that or am i just

I have tried a couple AfterShokz models but they are completely too tight on my

Indeed the Aftershokz headsets are all behind the head. I have had the wired 
model the Bluiz 2 and now the Treks and they all worked well for me but, for 
sure, the Treks is the lightest and the most comfortable. Having the band at 
the back is not a problem for me. In fact, in the winter in Canada, the 
Aftershokz works much better because there is no band going over your head to 
interfere with a hat. Over the head Headsets can be very uncomfortable when 
wearing them with a hat. I use my Treks all the time with my Trekker GPS and I 
love it.

I was on the aftershokz website with my friend and she was telling me that all 
of the headphones are the kind of headset that goes around the back of your 
neck/head.  None of the ones like the Trekz, bluez, etc sit over the top of 
your head like traditional headphone headsets.

 

Is this true?  Someone at CSUN from LS should me a pair that goes over your 
head, and I found them to be the as500.  Are these the only ones?  Can soeone 
speak to any other models?

I also have the double letters problem. I am using iPhone 5 with Microsoft BT 
keyboard running latest 8.3. 

 

As for me, turned off the KB and the phone; removed the KB and repaired it 
again still did not work. However, sometime it was OK. I do not have any 
sequence or way to ensure it works when I need it. It is very inconvenience.

I don't use my keyboard very often, but when I do it's because I really need to!

 

I have so far had two occasions when this has happened to me again and the only 
way out appears to be to reboot the phone, turn off the keyboard and start all 
over again.  As you don't know when this is going to happen, it's still an 
inconvenience to me and I'm about to write Apple's Accessibility team once 
again.  I just thought I'd ask first.

 

I really thought this was sorted and so was very disappointed when first I saw 
it recur once again.

in a space. Flicking only results in moving the cursor from one element, letter 
etc, to another. In other words, I can't get Fleksy to be Fleksy.

I have, on my 4s, Fleksy VO. It works reasonably well. I have, on my 4, the 
original Fleksy and it works. However, on my 6 running 8.3, the app is a total 
mess.

Now, this might be user error. I did read Jonathan's Blog/article on Fleksy 
and he said that Fleksy was working well for him, so, I imagine it is just me 
and that I need someone to talk me through it. Is there anyone out there who 
can get me set up? I would be so grateful.

Hi. This is a well known bug. To work around this, simply double tap and hold 
an app somewhere else on the screen and then you can delete the app on the

Deleting apps in other rows work just fine.  Of course, once I have

Foldable BT keyboard

Hi listers,

Can anyone recommend a good foldable BT keyboard? I used to own a stoway 
keyboard and like it very much. Unfortunately, it is no longer working. 

I have friend loaned me a Microsoft BT keyboard, other recommended the Logitech 
811 keyboard, however, they are not foldable and may be little big to put in 
the pocket.

I am looking for something that can be folded. I do use it a lot in meeting and 
church.

Thanks for the feedback. 

I hope Apple will fix this issue soon. It has been very bothering.
Especially to those time I wasn't quick enough to turn off VO when making a
call. I notice turned VO volume down did not resolve the problem.

Hi, just so you know, this problem of it going louder due to the other
profile used is not specific to just this headset. It happens a lot with
other headsets. I have a Samsung HM1700 and now the HM1900 which are around

I too used to have this keyboard. I now have the Logitech 810 model. You can
also get the 811 model if you want to. They both work ok. The 810 was meant
for windows and the 811 was meant for Apple, but I bought the 810 before I
knew the difference and had no problems.

You can also go on the archives of this list and search for bluetooth
keyboard, and I'm sure you will find many suggestions.

Thanks for your respond and detail instruction of how to use the app.  I was
able to add the voice recording to some of the existing photo.  I have
contacted the developer, Dan, for my question and he was very quick to reply
to my inquiry.  

Meanwhile, do you or anyone know how to play back the recording from the
pictures that I have recorded earlier from the app itself without the need
to open the iPhone camera app?  

Beside the issues / suggestions that you all have found about the app, I
suggested to the developer to have the app to bring me back to the camera
roll (previous screen that the existing pictures) once I have done the
recording to a picture.  Currently the app takes me back to the main screen
and then I have to go back in the camera roll to select another picture.  

Rather than the above...  the Photovoice should be a good app for us to
keep.

Help using Photovoice

Have any one used the Photovoice app?  I have the app, but I cannot locate
the record button to record my voice for each photo.  I tried to take new
picture or from the existing ones.  I cannot find that button.

If anyone know where that button is, or know how to use this app, I would

App to keep track of prayer request

I recalled someone was asking for an app to keep track of all the prayer
requests.  

Today, I have come acrossed that app, it is called prayerlife.  It is free
for now and I have downloaded it and briefly play around it.  It looks very
accessible and may be useful.

Difference between the new and old model Aftershokz headphones

Hi,

According to the rep from Aftershokz when I purchased my, 

(1) the new model has smaller control panel; (2) newer model has the volume
control in the panel and the old one only has 2 buttons; (3) the battery
usage is a bit longer in the new model; (4) the new model only has 2 years
warranty and the old one has life time warranty and (5) new model costs
more.

I chose the old model because the life time warranty.  But I notice their
support is terrible for I am already encountered problem with my unit after
2 months.  I am still not able to get hold of them.

Yes, I have the same problem, switching from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5.  I tried
to remove the app from the new phone and reinstall it, but I have no
success.  I haven't had the chance to contact Apple yet.  Anyone have any

Your entire computer will be able to be accessed by your IOS device. 

There are also options to access this through a web address. If you log in
you will have access to it all. Then there are links to share folders that
you would want others to see.

 

So if you want just one subfolder to be given to someone, it will have a url
for them to click on, and will only show the portion you allowed them access
to.

version 2?  

I am using iPhone 4 and have accessibility issue with Navigon after version
1.8.  Thus I have restore back to 1.8 version.  Now I am hesitating to

Capitalize a word from Fleksy

Hi all Fleksy users,


Can someone tell me how to capital the word when chose from the suggested
list?  

Situation I have was a name of the person was part of the suggested list,
but the name was not capitalize.  Also the letter l in the word lord
isn't in upper case, and I want it to.  

Can anyone tell me how to make the first letter uppercase when chosen from
the dictionary?

the app, and as far as I know, these memberships are only good for residents
of the U.S.  So this app is only available in the U.S. App Store.  I posted

Hi, the One Touch voice memo recorder automagically starts as soon as the
app launches and automagically stops as soon as you press the Home button.
No fussing around. Second, the app records the audio in a video file with no
video. So, think of it like taking a video from the camera app, but only the

the camera roll so you can copy it out without using iTunes. It also has the
advantage of you being able to make audio-only recordings for uploading to
youtube.

Other way to reset phone

Hi all,

Can some one tell me what Is another way to do a reset of the phone?

The power button of my Iphone 4 does not seem like working, no respond when
I tried to press it.  It can be a hardware problem.  But the phone is still
working fine.  So, if I cannot use that button together with the home button
to reset the phone, is there another way to do it?

I'm getting the same thing.  I'm using nvda and can't get the helper to
download with internet explorer, firefox, or google chrome.  Maybe I need to
install jaws just to get it.  Anyone got any ideas on this issue?

One thing I have trouble with, is downloading the stupid helper on the
desktop. I get this dialogue box that says close button, or the no thanks
link. I can't seem to navigate within that dialogue box. ive tried it with
both jaws 12 and NVDA. Any suggestions? I called fs, and they suggested I
install some java stuff, and so far, that hasn't even worked.
