Re: [Maccessibility] Hide Newsstand In A Folder On iOS 6 With One Click, No Jailbreak Required
there is a link to a video which tells you how to use it. just download and install the app, and plug your device in, and then click on hide newsstand folder. it will put it in a folder called magic. -- Jeff -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: [Maccessibility] Hide Newsstand In A Folder On iOS 6 With One Click, No Jailbreak Required
Yeah, that's what I've done but I'd far rather just get rid of it until there's something accessible that goes in there that I want. I don't appreciate it taking up a place on my screen when I don't even want it! If it could at least be moved into some other folder or other things could live in the folder and it could be renamed, I'd like it much better. -- Cheryl May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Many blogs have links inside them that aren't necessarily explicit. Re: [Maccessibility] Hide Newsstand In A Folder On iOS 6 With One Click, No Jailbreak Required
Hi. This is one of the Maccessibility noted posts, which is not an article itself, but a link to somewhere else. This is the first post of this type that I have personally made, and the convention is to add some descriptive text, which I neglected to do. I definitely apologize for the confusion. The post is a link to an article on Mac Stories, which describes a utility that moves the news stand folder in to another folder. There is a manual way to do this, but I've personally not had success with it. I'm not sure if it's possible to do it manually with VoiceOver. Anyway, I did test the utility, and it does work. It's supposed to create a folder called Magic, and place news stand in there. What I did was to rename that folder to unused, and I moved in all the other built-in apps I don't use like stocks and passbook. Again, sorry for the confusion. Re: [Maccessibility] Hide Newsstand In A Folder On iOS 6 With One Click, No Jailbreak Required
I didn't really find it confusing; I just kept following the trail till I got to the app. The only thing I can't figure out is why it didn't work for me. My phone was recognized and then the hide newsstand was dimmed so I thought it must be doing something but the folder was never changed. Kind of disappointing but maybe I did something wrong. Will go back and give it another look. -- Cheryl May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Re: [Maccessibility] Hide Newsstand In A Folder On iOS 6 With One Click, No Jailbreak Required
Using windows and IE 8, I tried clicking on the link and got a page not found error. So I tried moving it as you would any other app, wondering if I would uncover that they were simply pointing out that you could do that in the usual way with this item now too, but no such luck. Hmmm, they must be pointing out some other trick. Would be nice to stuff it away somewhere I would never look at it, but no big deal either. Re: [Maccessibility] Hide Newsstand In A Folder On iOS 6 With One Click, No Jailbreak Required
I don't know. I downloaded it and opened it and my iPhone 5 was recognized and the hide newsstand button dimmed when I pressed it. But as far as I can tell, my newsstand folder is the same as it's always been. -- Cheryl May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
