Re: Downcast question

2014-10-28 Thread Wayne Merritt
If you go to the More tab, then settings, you can set the default
(global) behavior for all podcasts, under the new episodes action
heading to either stream or download. If you're listening to a
specific podcast you can make settings to that one podcast. I have
done this for specific podcasts that I want to be able to hear
anytime, but most of my podcasts are set to stream. Also, if you find
a single episode of a podcast, you can do the double tap and hold
gesture and bring up a short menu of choices, including to download or
stream that episode. The wording may be convert to, I'm not exactly
sure.

In iOS 6, audio-related apps are only allowed to run in the background for
quite a short time. So if you run the app and then switch to another app,
Downcast can keep going for a bit, fetching your podcasts and updating your
feeds. But if you don't switch back from time to time, it's eventually going
to time out and stop doing that. They implemented the location awareness
feature to get around this. So for example it can be set up to update your
feeds when you arrive at the airport.

2013-09-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Tara,

In Downcast you can turn Continuous Playback on when an episode is playing
or you can go to the More tab at the bottom right, then tap on Settings
and a little way down right after Stream on WiFi only is Continuous
Play. It is off by default, turn it on in the Settings and it will always
continue to play episodes until you stop it.

Regards,

Sieghard

In iOS 6, audio-related apps are only allowed to run in the background for
quite a short time. So if you run the app and then switch to another app,
Downcast can keep going for a bit, fetching your podcasts and updating your
feeds. But if you don't switch back from time to time, it's eventually going
to time out and stop doing that. They implemented the location awareness
feature to get around this. So for example it can be set up to update your
feeds when you arrive at the airport.

There is a main button on the home screen of downcast. You need to Double tap
on that button. Here there will be a delete podcast button I think this will
delete the whole podcast and you will unsubscribe.
Hope this helps,

Downcast question about not downloading for a while

2012-12-17 Thread Chasity Jackson

Hi all,

I was wondering what downcast will do if you haven't downloaded for a couple
months? How do you prevent getting old archives that you don't feel are
relevant from two months ago? What do you do if it is slow because you
haven't downloaded updates in two months? Thanks.

Re: Downcast question

2012-09-26 Thread Damashe Thomas
Yes, using the export media file button. If you choose to export to computer,
the next time you connect your device to iTunes, the files will be available in
the file sharing section of iTunes. In iTunes, select yur device, then select
the apps tab, then locate the area that says these apps can transfer documents
between your device and this computer. In that list, arrow down til you locate
downcast, and move to the next field, this would be the tab key in windws. You
should see the files that you chose to export, with a save button that will
allow you to save directly to your computer. I apologize if you are using a
mac, I don't know the exact keystrokes but the methd is the same.

Re: downcast question

2012-08-22 Thread Damashe Thomas

Hi,
I think after the extraction from the media player is done that you have to
go back in to the import media section of downcast. The imported items
should be listed, and you have to select the items you want to be placed in
a feed. There is a import all button if you want them all in one feed but
you can select ceraint ones so that you can have like podcasts in a feed.
Once selecting, tap the import button and the new feed will be created and
will show in your list of podcasts. It will be labeled with the date which
you can change by entering the podcast feed and tapping settings at the
bottom of the screen. Hope this helps, and if I am wrong, someone will tell
us.

I believe there is an edit button in the music player that will allow you to
delete items. If not you could always perform a one-finger double tap and
hold then drag your finger across the screen to the right. The should bring
up a delete item confirmation that you can double tap.

Re: downcast question

2012-08-21 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Rebecca,

Choose More, then Tools, then Import. Then choose the Extract from Media
Library button in the lower right corner. YOu'll be warned this could take a
while. Choose the OK button. Now you'll see a view similar to the Music app.
Choose More, then Podcasts, then the ones you want to add. There should be an
Add button next to each item. Then choose done, which i believe is in the upper
right corner.

Best,
Anna

Re: Downcast Question

2012-08-06 Thread Paul Erkens
Less,
What I do is flick to the episode to delete, and then double tap and hold. A
menu will come up, and you can choose to delete the episode there, among other
things.
Hth,
Paul.

Re: Downcast Question

2012-08-06 Thread Kevin Barry
If you mean how do you unsubscribe; at the top of the list of
podcasts is an edit button.

Hit that and next to each listed podcast will be a delete button.
Hit one and you'll be asked to confirm.
That's it.

downcast question

2012-07-03 Thread Chris Judd

Hello all,

I recently installed downcast, and I think it is a great podcast app. My
question is, whenever I do a search, the program only gives me the first 100
results. Is this the default setting of the program? Also, does anyone
know how to get more results for podcasts?
Chris
