Re: Music issue

2024-02-14 Thread David Grossoehme
Good Morning:  It sounds like the party you spoke to didn't go far
enough on this.  With a big change of music a ticket should have been
written up on this.  If you have paid for these songs, I'd be vary upset
and going to their customer service on why they are losing something
that they receive money for.  If a technical ticket is written, it will
move down the line to someone who can find out the issue, instead of
just telling you they don't know what has happened.  It's coming to a
point for all us to push these companies to do what is required to
correct programs.  I'm a retired programmer, so, I'm not just telling
you to do something out of the blue, to waste your time.  Good luck.

I have signed out of iCloud and back in, reset the device and erased all
content and settings, set it up as a new device and put it in Recovery Mode and
updated via iTunes but the problem remains.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and am in the UK but I don’t think it is is not a
geographical problem.

I cannot attribute the problem to the bit rate of the tracks as these vary
between albums and have no apparent effect on the playback of tracks. Some
tracks exhibit the problem while others do not. Even downloading the tracks to
the iPhone does not change the outcome so presumably it’s not a network issue.

I could compile a list of albums that play as they should and those that do
not, but I don’t think that would help.

The strange thing is that if I double-tap any track they play fine. It is only
when one track follows another the problem is apparent.
Another album which is an older recording that is problematical is:

If I choose to play individual tracks the problem does not appear.

If I choose to listen to an entire album then when track two, three, and so-on
play there is a noticeable pause in playback when a track begins. So when say
track one ends and track two has started there is this pause in playback.

One album where this issue is present is ABBA’s recent Voyage album.

I have tried all configurations of the Music App but without success. I have
tried downloading the album to my iPhone but the problem persists. If I play

Would someone try playing the album from the beginning and see if they

 Hello,

Since updating to iOS15 I have noticed an annoying issue when playing many
albums on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

This problem is present no matter what device I am listing to the albums
 on.

If I choose to play individual tracks the problem does not appear.

If I choose to listen to an entire album then when track two, three, and
so-on play there is a noticeable pause in playback when a track begins.
So when say track one ends and track two has started there is this pause
 in playback.

One album where this issue is present is ABBA’s recent Voyage album.

 https://music.apple.com/gb/album/voyage/1583785050

I have tried all configurations of the Music App but without success. I
have tried downloading the album to my iPhone but the problem persists.
If I play the album via iTunes on my PC it plays without issue.

Would someone try playing the album from the beginning and see if they
experience the pause I describe when track two begins?

Thank you in advance for your experiences and suggestions.

That is exactly what i did. I played a song that said something like “Do I Have
It In Me,” then I let it play into the next track without pausing or touching
the phone. What you mentioned did not happen to me.

2021-12-22 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello Jenn,

The problem I and others have occurres when you play tracks in an album
sequentially. So the gap is only present when track two follows on from the
end of track one as it would when listening to the album in its intirety.. If
you’ve time, start the album playing at track one, then when that track ends
and track two begins you may hear the hiccup as present in the file I attached
to an earlier message.

Thanks for the trouble you have gone to and your offer of further help, it’s
much appreciated.

Re: Apple Music issue when playing certain albums.

2021-12-22 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello Simon,

It is not the pause between tracks that I am referring to, if you listen to the
beginning of track two you should hear a slight pause after the second track
has begun to play. It appears that I am not alone in experiencing this problem.

I have tried disabling newer features like lossless playback and even
downloaded albums to my iPhone to eliminate network issues but to no avail.

I cannot find a pattern for this behaviour some albums with the same
characteristics exhibit this behaviour while others do not.

I have tried many playback devices from Bluetooth, wired connections, AirPods
and even the iPhones internal speakers but none of Them affect the issue I
describe.

I fully appreciate you and others may not be familiar with the album from which
I took my sample but I think the hiccup is perfectly audible not withstanding
that.

Hey Malcolm,

I was thinking of the quality rather than pauses between tracks,

Hi Simon,

For your information the recording was made with my Apple Watch Series7 using
Just Record.

I used a NAD 20-30 integrated amplifier and Heybrook5 speakers my iPhone 12 Pro
Max was connected to the auxiliary input via an Apple charging stand with a
3.5MM to two phono cable. Those are the technical details for your interest.

The point of my post which you appear to have missed is not the clarity or

Having listened to the recording I would hope the most disputatious of readers
would understand the point I was trying to make.

I hope the above details will enable you to make a more constructive response.

Re: Apple Music issue when playing certain albums.

2021-12-21 Thread Arnold Schmidt
I have been, as it were, living with it for maybe a couple weeks now, figuring
that Apple had to know about it and would fix it soon. As you say, it is
inconsistent. I was playing an album earlier today and it didn't do it. Hey,
maybe they have finally fixed it.

Re: Apple Music issue when playing certain albums.

2021-12-21 Thread Malcolm Parfitt

The point of my post which you appear to have missed is not the clarity or
otherwise of the recording but the pause at the start of the second track.

Having listened to the recording I would hope the most disputatious of readers
would understand the point I was trying to make.

I hope the above details will enable you to make a more constructive response.

Ok, signed up for the apple1 premium plan on my iPad. When I got to my phone,
that is signed into the same Apple ID, it shows me the right amount of cloud
storage, I am able to access my apple news plus, but when I go to music, its
trying to make me pay and sign up. I have killed all apps in the app switcher.
I have restarted the phone, even signed out of iCloud and back in again. Still
the same, trying to make me sign up and pay. Any suggestions?

Apple Music issue?

2020-11-01 Thread 'Kliph' via VIPhone
Ok, signed up for the apple1 premium plan on my iPad. When I got to my phone,
that is signed into the same Apple ID, it shows me the right amount of cloud
storage, I am able to access my apple news plus, but when I go to music, its
trying to make me pay and sign up. I have killed all apps in the app switcher.
I have restarted the phone, even signed out of iCloud and back in again. Still
the same, trying to make me sign up and pay. Any suggestions?

RE: Annoying apple music issue

2020-05-06 Thread Fanus Buys
Hello Mark
Just for interest sake. I tried to purchase an album from Amazon which I could
not find in Apple Music but the only way to pay which they offer, is via USD,
so they do not accept my SA credit card info. I can buy Kindle books and
Audible books with my SA credit card and in January I purchased a radio without
any problems. I suppose it is a music copyright thing.

Fanus

Hello Fanus,

A subscription is not required to purchase either individual songs or entire
albums from Amazon.com

I find that the prices of individual titles are identical to iTunes. Album
prices are usually comparable, also.

To be clear, I download my music via Internet Explorer version 11, on a Windows
7 32-bit PC.

I think Amazon offers some kind of desktop music download app but I found it
extremely difficult to use with Jaws; however, this was some years ago and the
desktop app may have improved since then.

When it is all said and done, while I purchase all of my music from Amazon.com,
I manage that content in iTunes for Windows.

Hello Richard, Fanus, and Everyone,

Richard, I love your phrase, “tagging hell.” That is exactly how I view the
purchasing of iTunes music.

Earlier today, I decided to buy a new album. For less than a nanno-second I
considered purchasing it from iTunes, then I remembered all of the problems I
have encountered, en the past, after having done so; some that you described
very eloquently, Richard, and some even more daunting issues, that continue to
occur, with those long ago purchased tracks.

I only purchase music from Amazon, via my web browser, on my Windows PC.

The process is simple, straight-forward, and fast.

For example, when purchasing an album on my PC, the broad strokes are:

1.
Go to Amazon.com and find the album. Select the album to display the various
formats, MP3, CD, Vinyl, etc. Along with each format, you will see the
purchase price.

2.
Select your format.

3.
Purchase the Album.

4.
Select Download purchase. The album will be downloaded to your PC in a Zip
file.

5.
Unzip the file and you will see all of the album titles.

Now here is what I do to get my newly purchased album into iTunes; again the
broad strokes, only.

6.
Open iTunes for Windows.

7.
Add all of the album titles to my iTunes Library, simultaneously.

8.
Select all of the newly purchased album titles and select New Playlist.

9.
Give the Playlist the same name of the Album.

10.
Sync the new playlist to my iOS device.

Again, just the broad strokes but, all things being equal, given that I’ve been
using this method for about 7 years or so, it takes me less than 15 minutes to
go from purchase to syncing songs to my iOS device.

Mark

Welcome to the tagging hell that is classical music, as well as others, but
classical is the worst.
Since the internal tags of classical music often has different artists on some
tracks, or different conductors, orchestras, etc., it gets crazy making.
But, look for a folder called Compilations.
Most of the time, these albums are marked as compilations so they will show up
by either the album name, or conductor.
The tracks will also be scattered into different subfolders, but at least in
the compilations folder they should be all together.

2020-04-28 Thread Dave

You don't have to be subscribed, to any amazon music service.

You just make the purchase, as you would, with anything else.

Just in case you are stil using internet explorer. It is no longer
supported, with amazon music downloads.

Dave.

Re: Annoying apple music issue

2020-04-27 Thread Richard Turner
Welcome to the tagging hell that is classical music, as well as others, but
classical is the worst.
Since the internal tags of classical music often has different artists on some
tracks, or different conductors, orchestras, etc., it gets crazy making.
But, look for a folder called Compilations.
Most of the time, these albums are marked as compilations so they will show up
by either the album name, or conductor.
The tracks will also be scattered into different subfolders, but at least in
the compilations folder they should be all together.

results. Does anyone know how I can trace the album?

Horrible music issue on iPhone 4s with iOS 7

2013-10-03 Thread Shane clark
Hello everyone, I've seen where a lot of people seem to be having this issue
since the new update with deleting songs in albums and the native music app.
What I am experiencing is this: it seems that certain songs that I did not
purchase from iTunes appear on my phone fine, and then other songs, will have
right beside them cancel download 100% button… I've never seen this before, so
I have no idea what is going on here… Other songs that I have purchased from
iTunes are showing up, and VO is saying the song title, and download button
beside it. My brother-in-law told me that on the screen there is a picture of a
cloud beside that particular song, however, I don't want to download any of
these songs, but apparently whether I choose to do this or not, when I double
tap on that song with the cloud beside it, it begins playing. So, does this
mean that I have the option to download it to my device, and if I choose not
to, when I double tap on it, when it begins playing, is it just streaming the
song from the cloud, and therefore it's not taking space on my device? Is there
a way that I can get rid of these songs completely including the titles of them
showing up in my music app? I can honestly say I don't like this new feature of
iOS, however, if any of you know any work arounds on what to do, I certainly
would appreciate any and all assistance with this.
I've even went to iTunes and App Store, and turned off show all music, but that
doesn't seem to help either.
Thanks, Shane.
