Re: Offline dictation in 9.3
I didn't work for me yesterday. Once I'd turned on airplane mode, everything was dimmed, so I turned on data on my phone and was connected that way, but still I didn't get it to work here in the UK. Is this the same as the Dictation app which I've had for some time. I used to use it on the 4S but haven't for ages. If anyone can suggest anything further on this one, again, I'd be very grateful. -- Carol P On 24/03/2016 14:21, Daniel Miller wrote: Hi. RE: Offline dictation in 9.3
Well I have other phones with less power that can do it just find, they just are not ios. So I'd bet the 5 would be able to do it via it has better specs then the other phones. Re: Offline dictation in 9.3
Sorry, I meant to say that the reason it would most likely wasn't available on the iPad air two is having to do with the M9 coprocessor in the success and 6S plus. So having a 64-bit capable device doesn't really make a difference. Sent from my iPhone 6S Plus > On Mar 24, 2016, at 6:24 PM, Mary Otten wrote: > > And you know that how? Re: Offline dictation in 9.3
Hi. I agree, I hate when people say so in such device should be able to handle something, when there's obviously a discrepancy between 32-bit and 64-bit devices. I tested off-line dictation on an iPad air two, and it wasn't available, which obviously means it needs the 64-bit processor, or the M9 coprocessor in the 6S, 6S plus or iPad Pro. Re: Offline dictation in 9.3
I think the thing people are missing here is that it doesn't work in all markets. It's not available where I am in New Zealand, but based oN David Woodbridge's podcast, he has it in Australia. It's certainly available in the US. So if dictation doesn't work for you when you turn Airplane mode on, you may not be in a supported country for this feature. Hello everybody. To quote Steve Jobs "it just works." If you have a 6s or 6s plus you can test off line dictation by following these steps: 1. Turn on Airplane mode. 2. Open a favorite app. 3. Just dictate. 4. Turn off Airplane mode. Hi. Off-line dictation is available on the 6S, 6S fplus, and iPad Pro. It's not available on any other iOS device. Also, you do not need to download any off-line dictation files, it just works. The only thing there was in dictation is to turn dictation on or off. I also checked in the English keyboard and there was nothing about dictation there. Just different layouts of the keyboard.
