Question about iPhone startup

2012-07-02 Thread Juliette Swiler
I was wondering if there was an app that plays a sound when you boot your
phone? That way, we wouldn't have to wait for VoiceOver to start speaking to
know our phones are properly restarted.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

RE: Question about iPhone startup

2012-07-02 Thread Daniel Miller
Hi,

Unfortunately, there's no such thing. I myself also wish there was, but
alas, we have to just press the button and pray that we've held it down long
enough.
You could plug it into the charger and reboot it, but even that doesn't give
you an exact indication of how long you've held the button down for.
A feature like that would have to be built into the next version of the
phone, since I'm pretty sure it's not something apple can add via an iOS
update.

RE: Question about iPhone startup

2012-07-02 Thread Joseph Lee
Hi,
To get that functionality, you need to jailbreak your phone. There is an app
called iStartupSound which allows some sample sounds (including a Mac
startup sound) to be played when the phone is ready for use.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hey here is a tip for you. If you place the phone close to your ear you
can hear some funny noises. This indicates the phone is booting up. If
you are a hearing aid user make sure it's set to the t or the equivalent
position for hearing loops.

Re: Question about iPhone startup

2012-07-02 Thread Chuck Dean
I have a 4 s.
I have found that holding the power button while counting one Mississippi,
two Mississippi is the proper time to start the phone.
This also worked on my old 3 g s.

It then takes about 35 seconds for voice over to start.

BTW. I just tried turning on my phone a few times, and I did not hear any
sounds while it was starting.

Hope this helps,

Chuck

Re: Question about iPhone startup

2012-07-02 Thread Søren Jensen
Hi.
You just have to keep holding the power button for 3 seconds. Just as long like
when you wanna turn off the device. So if you're having trouble on counting the
time, you can practice it by counting the time it takes for the turn off
window to pop up when holding down the power button.
