If I am understanding you correctly, this is not a watch face exactly, but a 
complication that by default is associated with the face. It might be one of 
the complications associated with the compass app. If you edit the watch face, 
you  will find an area listing the complications available for the face and 
what they currently are. Some complications do appear to be less verbose on 
some faces. But you can always switch out the complication with another either 
from Apple or a third party vendor.
One thing about complications, is that they generally don’t update frequently 
to help make the watch battery  last longer.

I was wondering that as well. I’m embarrassed to admit I’m still using series 
four. That is about to change, I just can’t decide if I want to invest in the 
ultra, buy a series 8 or wait a while to see what’s next for the apple watch.

Richard, I kept getting a poor recording message but finally got it to work 
after resting my hand on my lap and keeping my finger very still. I used my

That helps.  IN that exact situation, the two finger double tap does indeed say 
live audio on or off… however, I’m getting nothing from the ECG app no matter 
how long I hold my finger on the crown.

 

No big deal, but I may call Apple to see if something is wrong with my Series 6.

 

It is good to know though, that Magic Tap, truly means, Magic Tap on all

I think it is more a feature of the OS, not the version of watch.  I have a 
series 6 running OS 9.2 and it works for me.

 

After starting the ECG app, touch near the bottom of the screen.

It will first say, hold your finger on the crown, pause for a second, then say, 
magic tap for live audio.

On that screen, if you do the magic tap, it will either say live audio on, or 
live audio off.  The magic tap is a toggle.

Chris, thanks much. That worked. Seems it’s only while in the ECG app. Not sure 
what it meant by live audio really as the only audio I get beside VO is a chirp

Hi All,

I was taking my heart rate with the ECG app. I was asked to perform a Magic tap 
to activate live audio. How does one perform a magic tap on the watch? Thanks.

Hi Richard,

On occasion, I have encountered the same issue. While holding the crown, 
nothing seems to happen: other times, it works as it should. I have version 9 
of the Watch Software. This is on a Series 8 model.

That helps.  IN that exact situation, the two finger double tap does indeed say 
live audio on or off… however, I’m getting nothing from the ECG app no matter 
how long I hold my finger on the crown.

 

No big deal, but I may call Apple to see if something is wrong with my Series 6.

 

It is good to know though, that Magic Tap, truly means, Magic Tap on all

I think it is more a feature of the OS, not the version of watch.  I have a 
series 6 running OS 9.2 and it works for me.

 

After starting the ECG app, touch near the bottom of the screen.

It will first say, hold your finger on the crown, pause for a second, then say, 
magic tap for live audio.

On that screen, if you do the magic tap, it will either say live audio on, or 
live audio off.  The magic tap is a toggle.

Maybe you have to have hints enabled, I just started the EEG and after tapping 
on Done all it said near the bottom is "Hold your finger on the crown".
However, when I did a magic tap at this point I did hear "Live Audio Disabled" 
so I guess it was enabled so I magic tapped again do enable it again.
What is live audio supposed to do?

I was told that the Magic Tap is the Magic Tap, is the Magic Tap on all Apple 
devices.

 

Obviously, I should try everything out first.

That does nothing.

So, the question returns, who told whom to do a Magic Tap to get audio feedback

You can also change how time is communicated with vibrations, one other option 
is to use actual morse code if you know how to interpret it and there is one 
other option, but I can't remember.

I have always felt it would make more sense to indicate Midnight and Noon with 
a single long vibration and then add short vibrations for 1, 2, 3 and so on,

I suspect your getting the time with the taptic time feature. The watch will 
vibrate the number of hours followed by the number of minutes. There's more

Hi Jan,

I agree that it seems silly that Apple asks us periodically to sign into the 
Apple Watch when the iPhone is nearby and should theoretically serve as 
verification. However, they do what they do. When you have your phone close to 
your watch and you were asked to sign in, check your iPhone screen or perhaps 
in the notification center and see if an option comes up to use the on screen 
keyboard on your phone to complete this process. That is what I ultimately 
ended up doing to get past it. It's similar to using the iPhone on screen 
keyboard to fill in edit field on an Apple TV. Hope this helps.

I use one called Steps App, and it seems to update once or twice an
hour. I do get notifications and coaching from the app on my phone and
watch periodically throughout the day. Perhaps in Gen 6 of the watch
they will improve the battery status so these apps can update more
often.

I find the two taps it takes (or 3 if you want only minutes) to be not always 
reliable so if you are worried about the announcement I suggest you also turn 
the volume down very low in situations where you are worried about the watch 
starting to talk.

The Series 2 watch also has built-in GPS, so if you do an outdoor workout, 
you'll still get the advantages of GPS even if you don't have your phone with 
you. The screen is also brighter, which might be useful if you have some vision.

It may be a reason not to buy a series 2 watch if you already own a series 1, 
but if you don't yet own an Apple Watch at all to me it is a no-brainer to buy 
the series 2, it's a bit more than the series 1, but it also may be more future 
proof.
I also bought my first Apple Watch last October and bought the series 2 
stainless steel because the fact that it is waterproof for me is a big deal as 
I live a pretty active lifestyle and don't want to worry about where I should 
put my watch if I want to go play in the river with my dog or get it wet 
watering the flowers. That was also the reason why I bought the stainless steel 
model which has a sapphire crystal instead of gorilla glass. Sapphire is more 
scratch resistant and tougher and I'm not always known to be super careful when 
it comes to bumping my arm into things when I'm in my woodworking shop or doing 
outdoor activities.

Actually there is two apps that have watch support that will allow you to 
access your reminders.
One is Due, and it will import reminders from the reminders app, and has a lot 
of other functions.

The second one is called One List.  And all it does is mirrors your Reminders 
in the reminders app.  It is simple, and once synced to the reminders app, 
there is nothing else to do in the app.

Both apps can be used as glances on your watch.
I like the One List app because of its simplicity and it does exactly what I 
want.  I can use Siri on my watch and set a reminder without a problem.
I use the One List glance to access my reminders on my watch.

If anyone has any questions about these apps, I will do my best to answer them.

ask Siri to do it, but other than that, you can't.

reminders, notes, emails, etc. on the watch, and then it puts it into an 
inbox. Now you go to your iPhone and to the drafts 4 app. Now you can 
select a variety of places to send what you just dictated.

I too got an Apple Watch.  It was my understanding that you could get apps for 
the watch.  Can anybody point me in the right direction as to where I might

you have to use the watch app on your iPhone. Select the feature tab or search 
tab on the bottom.

BTW, to install/ uninstall apps already downloaded, in the my watch tab, is a 
list of all the available apps you have. double tap on those and you have the 
ability to install/uninstall on your watch.

Try a 2 finger triple tap. You may have turned crown navigation on by mistake.
