Do you have access to a computer and have you tried to go to
http://AppleID.apple.com and log in there?

See if you can login with your new Apple Id and password.

As for the old one, what email did you use and to you still have access to that
email?

If so you should be able to go to Forgot Password and get a password reset link
emailed to the old email address.

I assume you now use janet.harv...@outlook.com as your Apple Id? What email did

HI Donna,

I’ve tried several times to enter my password, but the phone is not accepting
it, that is my problem. I don’t have any other restrictions either. This is
not just to update an app, this is to update my Apple id settings, in which I
can’t do, so as a result, I will not have access to certain account settings
until I can get this issue rectified. I have never selected any secret
questions either. I’m just thinking when I changed my password a few years
ago, I probably should have updated certain Apple settings, but I didn’t know
at the time I needed to do that.

Janet,

Try entering the password that you use to unlock your iPhone. When installing
IOS updates the iPhone will restart once the update is complete. If you have a
passcode set for restrictions it may be requesting that passcode be entered. My
guess is it wants your unlock password though. If you have forgotten the
password to your first iTunes username; when logged out of all iTunes accounts,
enter the old iTunes user email & swipe to I Forgot. You should have had to
setup secret questions when originally setting up the old iTunes account. You
will be given 2 of the questions, just type in their answer. If the questions
are answered correctly, you will be prompted to enter a new password &
confirm the new password.

Donna

  Hi,

Ok, I signed out, and I signed back in, and that was successful. I’m still
getting the exact same message though. Telling me I need to update my Apple
settings, in which I still get the same message saying wrong password, and then
I get a message saying to enter my Apple id, or I will not be able to use some
services until I update my Apple id settings. I get only one edit field, and
even though, I tried entering my Apple id as well as my password, it still says
wrong password. Any other suggestions? I don’t want to merge my old and new
Apple ID though,

  Thank you all.

to call Apple accessibility. Unfortunately, there is no way to merge you’re old

If it doesn't accept your password then you can't sign in.
You need to start the process to reset your password by going to the following

This is a site off the main AppleID.Apple.com, there is a link you click called

click on the above link and it goes straight there.
Start by entering your Outlook.com email which you say is your current Apple

If you can't successfully reset your password I strongly recommend you go to an
Apple Store and ask if they can help because if you do this often enough it may
lock your Apple Id down so much that it could take an even greater effort to
get it going again.

OK, I'm pretty confused now, you say you can sign in with the link I provided
but you say it won't accept your password.
If it doesn't accept your password then you can't sign in.
You need to start the process to reset your password by going to the following
website:

Recover your Apple Id<https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid>

This is a site off the main AppleID.Apple.com, there is a link you click called
"Recover my Apple Id or Password", but in order to make it easier you can just
click on the above link and it goes straight there.
Start by entering your Outlook.com email which you say is your current Apple
Id, then click continue and follow the instructions.
If you can't successfully reset your password I strongly recommend you go to an
Apple Store and ask if they can help because if you do this often enough it may
lock your Apple Id down so much that it could take an even greater effort to
get it going again.

Sieghard

Signed out of both iTunes and iCloud on your iPhone. Then try to sign back in
again. Another option is to clear you’re cache. The last suggestion would be
to call Apple accessibility. Unfortunately, there is no way to merge you’re old
and new Apple ID. Concerning iTunes, you should just be able to sign out on the
PC. If not, ensure your library is backed up, uninstall then reinstall iTunes.

HI Donna,
I’ve tried several times to enter my password, but the phone is not accepting
it, that is my problem.

Hi Sieghard,
This current issue I’m having has nothing to do with just downloading a
particular app. This update I am referring to is my Apple update settings, in
which when I try to login, the phone is not accepting my current password. If
I can’t sign in to update my Apple settings, I will not be able to use some
account services on my phone. I firmly believe all these issues I’m having is
because my new xr phone has the old phone 6 settings. I will have to set up my
xr phone once again as a new phone. Even though, an Apple rep and I set the xr
phone up as a new phone last week, unknown to myself, the phone 6 was connected
to my xr phone, and the reason I say this is because my new xr phone is working
exactly like my phone 6, in which is very poorly.

Re: Changing an old Apple id.

2018-11-24 Thread Hope Paulos
Signed out of both iTunes and iCloud on your iPhone. Then try to sign back in
again. Another option is to clear you’re cache. The last suggestion would be
to call Apple accessibility. Unfortunately, there is no way to merge you’re old
and new Apple ID. Concerning iTunes, you should just be able to sign out on the
PC. If not, ensure your library is backed up, uninstall then reinstall iTunes.

Hello,
If you have access to your old e-mail, you can change your pass word when you
connect to Apple website.
If you don't have access this e-mail, I have no idea.

Go to your iPhone settings, tap on your name then go to the bottom of the
screen and hit sign out. after you sign out hit the sign in button after the
settings then enter the correct Apple ID and password.

Have you gone to apple.com and signed in there?
You should be able to clear up any old ID problems from the web site.

Subject: Changing an old Apple id.

Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to remove an old email Apple id from an iPhone 6. The reason I want
to remove it is because on my old phone 6, I keep getting a message to update
my Apple id settings, but when I enter my current password in order to update,
I get a message saying wrong password, because it is asking me to update to an
old Apple id, and I have no idea what that password was because I haven't used
that password in over 3 years. I was quite surprised to see this as well.
Matter of fact, I have the exact same problem with iTunes on my Pc, and that is
the reason I can't use iTunes on my Pc because I don't remember the old
password. I'm not even sure how or when all these changes came about, or
unless when I changed my Apple id 3 years ago, and I didn't update certain
settings. I'm not sure. I also can see on the phone my current Apple id as
well, so this is rather confusing. In short, I don't remember the password to
the old Apple id as I said I haven't used that for at least 3 years. I've had
several problems with my old phone 6, and this could very well be at least one
of the problems, or maybe the culprit. LOL! Now, the question, can I change
the old Apple id to my current Apple id, just so I don't have to start changing
all these Apple id's and passwords? If that makes any sense!
This is getting to be quite annoying.
Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Janet
