Re: Fax Services
I checked them out but they are about 2 dollars higher than their competitors with no real distinguishing features. Thanks for the suggestion. RE: Fax Services
I am a very happy Windows user, but I don't think it would matter all that much since I receive my faxes as emails with PDF attachments and mostly send by attaching files to an email sent to the Myfax server. You can also log in to the Myfax.com website and look at your Inbox of faxes there and send faxes from there, but I find the email method faster and easier. Myfax, by the way, was recently bought by eFax which was another large online Fax service. There are, however, no differences as far as I can tell except the the website looks a bit differently and they released a new iPhone app. Regards, Sieghard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. RE: Fax Services
Kindness may not be the correct word, I have from 3 to 5 employees depending on the time of year and if I need to know what it says in a particular fax I ask one of them to read it to me, I do write their PayCheques after all *smile*. I have used Openbook to read these faxes at time when I just didn't have somebody around or was working from at home, the faxes arrive as PDF files and if you have Openbook you can simply use the Freedom Printer to print something like this to the OCR application. Of course the results depend on the format, I still have suppliers that use Dot Matrix printers and if the ribbon is almost used up even my staff has sometimes problems reading it. RE: Fax Services
Myfax.com is also a good solution, I have been using it for many years. I pay approx. $10 or $11 a month, but I pay annually just one lump sum of $120 or something like that. I believe I have 100 free outgoing pages with this and 200 free incoming, that would be per month and I never come even close as I don't do all that much by fax anymore even though I have a business. This price also gives me a toll free virtual fax number which works across Canada and the US. I receive faxes by email and if I want to send a fax I just send an email to "faxnum...@myfax.com", I can put who the fax is for in the subject line and then either write text or attach anything from a text file to a Word file or even an Excel document. They also do have an accessible iOS app, but of course any faxes received are images so you would have to do OCR on them or have somebody read them to you.
