Hi Marie,

If a device is reset and you are at the initial screen which says
"swipe to setup" you must have a SIM card installed otherwise you
cannot complete the setup. Once it is setup you can take the SIM
card out and it is no problem, but you do need it initially.

You do not need to activate the phone to use it as an IPod. The
activation is only for the phone service. You just need to sign in
with your Apple ID so you can use or buy apps. You can do IMessaging

Subject: Please, I need help with activating Iphone

Hello list,
I have Iphone 4 which stil has pretty decent battery, so I would like to
use it as Ipod.
I don't have a sim card for activating the phone and I haven't found any
other option to activate it.

I tried Itunes, but it keeps saying I need a valid Sim card.
Please, is there a way how to activate Iphone without a sim card?
I don't want to use it for phone calls, I have Iphone 6 for that.
Thank you very much for your help.
With kind regards,
Maria

Re: Please, I need help with activating Iphone

2017-03-25 Thread Mária Orovčíková

Helo list,

thank you very much for your suggestions.

Just to make things clear, I want to setup the phone and use it like
Ipod or Ipad. I mean I would like to be able to check FB, Twitter, play
games, listen to music, browse internet etc. I do not need to make phone
cals, text messages..., so I believe a sim card is not needed in this case.

But no matter wat I do, it says it needs a valid sim card to activate
the phone.

When I plug the phone to my laptop and launch ITunes, it says something
like: "This connected device does not have a valid sim card. Enter a
valid sim card.".

I pressed "Home" button and I got emergency cal option; once I hit
"Cancel" button, the screen saying I need a valid simcard appears again.

I hope it makes sense now.
Thank you very much for your help in advance.
Have a wonderful weekend.
With kind regards,
Maria

Hi Marie,

If a device is reset and you are at the initial screen which says
"swipe to setup" you must have a SIM card installed otherwise you
cannot complete the setup. Once it is setup you can take the SIM card
out and it is no problem, but you do need it initially.

You do not need to activate the phone to use it as an IPod. The
activation is only for the phone service. You just need to sign in
with your Apple ID so you can use or buy apps. You can do IMessaging
to others with I devices whenever you are connected to the internet.

Subject: Please, I need help with activating Iphone

Hello list,
I have Iphone 4 which stil has pretty decent battery, so I would like to use it
as Ipod.
I don't have a sim card for activating the phone and I haven't found any other
option to activate it.

2017-03-23 Thread Marie
You do not need to activate the phone to use it as an IPod. The activation
is only for the phone service. You just need to sign in with your Apple ID
so you can use or buy apps. You can do IMessaging to others with I devices
whenever you are connected to the internet.
