If they are lightning connecters, they will work on your 6s. You plug them in
the same place you plug in the charger.

The new phones do not have the 3.5 jack, they only use the lightning connecter.

So, if that is the apple lightning connecter plug them in and see how you like
them as they will certainly work on both old and new phones.

They'll fit the new models. You can get headphones pretty cheap that have the
3.5 connector to use for your iPhone 6.

Re: Query about headphones for the iPhone

2022-03-16 Thread Alison May
My 6SE has a 3.5 plug but I have decided to keep the new headphones in
readiness for when I upgrade and have now re-ordered what I currently need. But
thank you for your help.

RE: Query about headphones for the iPhone

2022-03-16 Thread Richard Turner
OK, if it is actually a lightning plug, I thought as far back as the 6S the
lightning port could also be used as an earphone jack with the earphones tha
have the lightning plug.
If it is a USB C plug then no it won't.

I have used lightning plug earphones on the original SE, so maybe I'm making a
wrong assumption that it would also work on the 6S.

But, no, it won't plug into the 3.5 jack; so I gather you tried them in the
lightning port and got no sound, right?

I stand corrected.

But, again, assuming they have the lightning plug, they will work with all
phones since the first gen SE, if not earlier.

Re: Query about headphones for the iPhone

2022-03-16 Thread Alan Lemly
Allison,

We really can't advise you on whether your new headphones will work well with a
new iPhone without knowing the specific model of the headphones and its
specific cable connector type. A USB type C connector is a lot like a lightning
connector so you need to read the specs of your new headphones to determine
what type of connector it has. If it is a lightning connector, it should work
just fine with any of the newer model iPhones which all come with lightning
ports. Conventional headphone jacks are all but nonexistent on newer smartphone
models.

RE: Query about headphones for the iPhone

2022-03-16 Thread Richard Turner
If they are lightning connecters, they will work on your 6s. You plug them in
the same place you plug in the charger.

The new phones do not have the 3.5 jack, they only use the lightning connecter.

So, if that is the apple lightning connecter plug them in and see how you like
them as they will certainly work on both old and new phones.

I have just received some new headphones for my iPhone 6s E but neither of them
are compatible as the connector is more like a lightning connector rather than
the standard input. I am thinking about upgrading my phone. Is it worth me
keeping these headphones? Will they fit the new models?

2022-03-16 Thread Alison May
I have just received some new headphones for my iPhone 6s E but neither of them
are compatible as the connector is more like a lightning connector rather than
the standard input. I am thinking about upgrading my phone. Is it worth me
keeping these headphones? Will they fit the new models?
