Hello,

Sorry if this topic was covered at some point but I’d like to know how to read
email attachments on the IPhone? I’m running the latest released version of

I hear where it says “has attachment” but if I flick up to activate and double
tap, nothing happens.

Thank you!

You have to in fact, flick down with 2 fingers.

RE: Reading Email

2013-08-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi DJ,

As Reggie stated, once you double tap on an email to open it, Voiceover
focus will be on the first line of the message body, typically the
greeting/first line of the message. You can flick up or down with 2 fingers
to read the entire message, both works in this case. You can also read the
email by flicking right with a single finger. It think from what I tell this
reads by paragraph. Lastly, you can turn your rotor to lines, words or
characters (the latter is really only important if you want to spell out a
particular word) and then flick down with a single finger to read by
whichever unit you set.

Sieghard

Re: Reading Email

2013-01-15 Thread Carol Pearson
Hi,

I notice you've had a response from David, who does know what he's talking
about, but you may prefer my method so I'll tell you. I keep it quick and
simple because I have loads of mail in a day!

When I first go into my mail, the first message is often read out.
Occasionally this doesn't happen and I have to flick right/left, whatever, to
get to the main part of the message where I do a two finger swipe up. This
reads the message and, if I really need to know who it's from, I can flick left
to find out.

Anyway, I don't use the quick delete, as I call it, but use the delete button
which is almost lined up with the Home button. This says Delete button
following that double tap and when I double tap following this response I hear
Deleted, Ithink.

I am then ready to do the two-fingered swipe up once again to read the next
message and just check if I wish to know someone's address or name.

This might sound very long-winded, but it's the best method for me. I pprobably
haven't explained it very well but give it a go and see how you get on. Do let
me know what you think of it.

Re: Reading Email

2013-01-15 Thread Alan Paganelli
Apparently you read email the same way I do. Oldest to newest. I haven't
found a quick way to do it.

What I do though is to start at the top of the list and do a 1 finger flick
down to bring up the delete option and double tap with 1 finger. This delets
that message and any other messages in that same thread. Surprisingly enough,
at first it sounds more like more trouble then it's worth but it does move
along rather quickly.
I have to flick right until I get to the bottom of the list and double tap that
and use the delete button at the bottom of the screen.

Re: Reading Email

2013-01-14 Thread David Chittenden
This is why I strongly advocate people to learn all the gestures, and why I
just as strongly advocate learning to touch the display to find one's way
around it.

After double or split tapping delete at the bottom of the message, you can: use
a two finger flick up to have VO start reading the beginning of the body of the
next message; do a four finger tap in the top half of the display to move focus
to the upper left corner; or touch the display where the date usually appears
and then use a two finger flick down to continuously read from that point.

Re: reading email

2012-10-16 Thread Carol Pearson
Hi there,

I have been given various advice by people On ways to read. Anyway, after
lots of experimenting I find that this works really well, They're in mind that
this is is a technique and you need to perfect it. When you first come to your
mailbox you need to find the first message and double tap on this. This will
start to read it. What I normally do at this stage, Having read the message, is
to then delete it or move the message. You will now hear the next message
announced with the subject et cetera.. At this point You need to Use and
upwards movement with two fingers very gently and not too long and the movement
should start about halfway up the screen in order to read and the next page
will start reading. This is what you need to do.

Do give it a go and see if it works for you. Be sure to persevere.
