RE: magsafe
I have a regular TPU-type thin case on my iPhone 13 Pro and there is nothing finicky about putting the phone on the charger. I have a Belkin 3-in-1 charging stand which has a base where you can charge a set of Earpods, then there is a sort of stainless steel T which comes up and then has arms to the left and to the right. On the right is the Apple Watch charger and on the left is a larger, rubber-coated disk for the iPhone and it just sticks to it as soon as I place it there. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Matt White Sent: Saturday, November 4, 2023 5:06 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: magsafe Generally speaking, no you do not need to remove a case of that nature from your phone. I just opened my Apple Magsafe pad. It appears the only way the pad can charge my iPhone would be for me to remove the case from the phone. I have a silicone slip case I purchased from Apple. Actually a Magsafe wireless charger will charge an iPhone SE just fine, but it won’t stick to it since it does not have the magnets in the phone. RE: MagSafe chargerI’ve just bought myself a MagSafe wireless charger for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I’m obviously being thick, because i can’t make it charge my phone. Anybody got any ideas?
According to Apple's own article a MagSafe compatible case is recommended, but it is not necessarily required as long as the case you have is thin enough and most "regular" cases I would say probably are, it's those super heavy duty cases which may be a problem. One thing to keep in mind about case thickness? Apple is telling accessory makers that for MagSafe to work through the case, it can only be a maximum of 2.1mm thick, while Apple recommends a thickness of 2.0mm. Hi, in order that the Magsafe will work, you need a support case for iPhone. the way to connect your Magsafe is place near the back camera of your Phone. נשלח מה-iPhone שלי > ב-10 ביולי 2021, בשעה 18:36, Sieghard Weitzel כתב/ה: > > > Ed had apparently a moment of clarity when he said you may need a MagSafe > case for best results, glad to know that such moments still come from time to > time, Ed 藍 > > Here is what it says about cases in an article from iMore called MagSafe for > iPhone 12: Everything you need to know: > > Do I need a new case? > Apple's new MagSafe charger is specifically designed to work with Apple's own > MagSafe accessories like its silicone case. RE: MagSafe chargerI’ve just bought myself a MagSafe wireless charger for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I’m obviously being thick, because i can’t make it charge my phone. Anybody got any ideas?
Ed had apparently a moment of clarity when he said you may need a MagSafe case for best results, glad to know that such moments still come from time to time, Ed 藍 Here is what it says about cases in an article from iMore called MagSafe for iPhone 12: Everything you need to know<https://www.imore.com/apple-magsafe-chargers-and-accessories-everything-you-need-know>: Do I need a new case? Apple's new MagSafe charger is specifically designed to work with Apple's own MagSafe accessories like its silicone case. However, you can use MagSafe to charge your iPhone even if it doesn't have a case on it. You can also try to use MagSafe with a case that isn't specifically MagSafe compatible, although results with this will likely vary depending on the case's material and thickness. One thing to keep in mind about case thickness? Apple is telling accessory makers that for MagSafe to work through the case, it can only be a maximum of 2.1mm thick, while Apple recommends a thickness of 2.0mm. That's thinner than a lot of the bulkier protective cases out there, so just be aware of that. You can even use the MagSafe charger on other devices like AirPods and older iPhones, just note that those will not have the magnetic charging ring that the iPhone 12 does, so the connection will be less secure. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com<mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com>> On Behalf Of Mr. Ed Sent: Saturday, July 10, 2021 7:52 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com<mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com> Subject: RE: MagSafe chargerI’ve just bought myself a MagSafe wireless charger for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I’m obviously being thick, because i can’t make it charge my phone. I assume you plugged it in? Anyways, probably a good example where a phone call to Apple Accessibility would help since they can walk you through it step by step. That would be totally annoying to have to remove your iPhone from its case just to charge it. I've got an otterbox case for my iPhone 8. It cost me $40 and I somehow recently cracked it a little on the back part of the case, but I can just plug in my lightning to USBC cable and my iPhone charges very fast and with no issues. Re: MagSafe chargerI’ve just bought myself a MagSafe wireless charger for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I’m obviously being thick, because i can’t make it charge my phone. Anybody got any ideas?
Janet, I am wondering if possibly it could be the case that you have your phone in. Some chargers will not charge your phone with certain cases in them. Maybe you will have to remove the case when you want to charge the phone. I’m not sure about that, it’s just a suggestion. Alex, please can you put the message in the message part of the email instead of the subject line?
