Re: Disgusted with Braille in IOS 13.1.3

2019-10-24 Thread Richard Turner
I just did a test with the Braille Edge and my work iPhone 8 plus running iOS
13.1.3.
I wrote a long note in Voice Dream Writer, and in Email.
There was no lag to speak of.
I could use the routing buttons on the display to put me on a word or character
where I needed to make a correction.
When I then used the rotor commands to move by character or word, the cursor
moved exactly where I wanted it.
Now, if you are doing this with VoiceOver speech on, you will here VoiceOver
reading way too much.
Turn off the speech, and your editing experience might improve.

sure that it is on the correct line; then I can route the cursor. But
it's a royal pain.

Re: Disgusted with Braille in IOS 13.1.3

2019-10-22 Thread Richard Turner
The hotkey to go to the status bar is broken for all keyboards, QWERTY and
Braille.
Write Apple Accessibility.
The more they get reports, the sooner it will get fixed.

Tom, I'm using the BrailleEdge 40 from Hims, and also having some issues since
my phone decided to update this morning. For example, holding down the

where I could check immediately how much charge I had left. Now, nothing
happens when I press that key combination. Since I'm still figuring out the
update, I'm bound to have more questions. I'm not happy about this either.

Voiceover can slow down and crash. It’s just awful. I could go into detail, but
VO will probably give me trouble while I do so. Anybody else out there having
trouble with Braille displays in IOs 13?

Re: Disgusted with Braille in IOS 13.1.3

2019-10-22 Thread Aleeha Dudley
Hi Tom,
I am having trouble as well. I can tell you that this trouble has been the same
since betas started, and nothing has seemed to change. I’m really frustrated
about it, and have reported it several times.
