That’s a shame. I think I paid around $165 a year ago for a one off license.

Hi Graeme.

I just discovered only two days ago that you can scan using Notes on the iPhone.
It is in the menu within Notes and can produce a PDF document.
Then email it to your Mac if necessary.

Re: [WAMUG} MS Office for Mac

2021-03-28 Thread Peter Crisp
HI Marcus, yes you’re right, Apple does do equivalent applications but both my
wife and I are back and forth sharing documents (Word) and spreadsheets (Excel)
in both directions for various work related things (which are Windows based
environments) for convenience to ourselves. Maybe they do transition in both
directions seamlessly but I haven’t verified that - my wife would struggle to
go back and forth between Office and Mac applications of the same file.

Line of least resistance is my objective here.

Pete.

2021-03-28 Thread Peter Crisp
Hi folks again, thanks for responses, I’ve followed up with both of those
vendors and they can provide a Single machine once off installation of Office
but I want a multi user version (they were available previously but it seems
Microsoft has gone to the annual subscription model - with Office 365).

I suppose I am going to have to go the 365 route - for the two of us - as the
kids all have direct access to Office via their school/Curtin Uni associations
so it seems a waste to provide them additional Office access when they already
have it. At $199 per single installation, I’d need two of them.

Re: [WAMUG} Scanner.

2021-03-28 Thread Anthony (Tony) Francis
Hi Guy’s

I would like to know if any of our Members have had a problem with a Photo
Scanner?

I have an Epson Perfection 4870 Photo Scanner and until recently I was able to
scan Negatives and Slides (Positives), for some reason I am only able to scan
Photo’s, Colour or Black and White and Documents, I have a feeling that the
lamp that the scanner uses to enable me to scan Negatives or Slides has died,
would anyone know if that could be the problem.

I have spent almost a day trying to find information as to the problem without
success.I actually downloaded another Driver,/ update, also without success.
Tried the scanner with an Older Computer, that didn’t work either.

Previously when I was using the scanner a drop down box would show me the
options available, ie: Positive. Negative. Text. Colour. Black and White.

Now all the drop down box shows: Text. Colour. Black and White. - Positive and
Negative have disappeared.

Thank you

Kind Regards

[WAMUG} flagging emails Big Sure

2021-03-28 Thread FW
Good evening all,

on my wife’s iMac running 11.2.3 I am not able to flag an email.

Previously [on Mojave] the flag would show on the left of the email list.
When I go to the Flag button on the top menu line I can select the colour but
the email is not flagged.

What am I doing wrong ?

Cheers
Walter

[WAMUG} MS Office for Mac

2021-03-28 Thread Peter Crisp
Hi folks, I searched through the archives and couldn’t locate the previous
thread, but I need to buy an updated MS Office license (family pack) for my lot
here.

Can anyone recommend a seller for this - I want the one off purchase not the
annual renewal option?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Pete
