In Thunderbird you should be able to upload a file that contains your
signature.
Check Attach the signature from a file instead and then click
'Choose'... To select the file.

The file can contain either plain or HTML-formatted text.

If you have HTML-formatted signature, the message recipient must be
able to view HTML-formatted messages in their email program.
If they have disabled this ability, the signature will be rendered in
text format and images will not be displayed.

Hi Lynn,

Not sure what you want to do here.
Do you want to delete the Contact from Contacts on the iPhone?
If so:
1.Open Contacts in Utilities
2. Select the Person you want to delete
3. Hit 'Edit'
4. Scroll to the bottom hit 'Delete Contact'

ringtones creation

2012-10-20 Thread Lynn Koh
Hi

I have kept the archive of Ronni's instructions on how to create iphone
ringtones (http://www.mail-archive.com/wamug@wamug.org.au/msg55537.html) - sent
on Mon, 28 Dec 2009 01:51:03 -0800. Original post was sent by Kim Maher .

I was just trying to create a ringtone using the same instructions, but
everytime i drag the renamed ringtone back into library, it comes up with 0:00
on the time of the new ringtone. I had created previous 3 ringtones and they
worked (Ronni, 1 of them was the Bombers theme... :P).

The only possibility that I can think of as to why it is not working is iTunes
version. I am using version 10.6.3 and the instructions were written in an
older version.

Any clues, anyone?

Thanks.

Lynn,
Apple will be shipping in October an adapter that converts from the old 30pin
port to the new Lightning port so hopefully many of your old peripherals will
still work. It does add an extra cm or so to the base of the phone so it might
not be possible to use it in every dock, but it should work with all your old
chargers etc

Re: Apple event roundup

2012-09-12 Thread Lynn Koh
Hi ronni and all

those who are thinking of upgrading to iphone5, think about all the $ you will
save from getting it, as you will need to get adaptors for all your devices you
got for your iphone4(s).

Looks like ill only upgrade to iphone4s when the time comes in a couple of
months. taller and lighter doesnt make a huge difference to me, but the adaptor
does.

regards
lynn

P/S: now that iphone5 announcement is out, any rumours of iphone5s or iphone6?
i can wait a couple years for the next one, providing that they are the
original charge port.

I notice the SIM card is a Nano-SIM... The iPhone 5 is not compatible with
existing micro-SIM cards.

I was waiting for the release of new iPhone 5 and ready to upgrade my iPhone4S.
But at this moment my Tigger Car is being serviced and the quote for the
service is $1,600 (which I did not expect), so iPhone 5 'might' have to be
put back down the list :(

Especially as I will have to upgrade my iPad (original model), as iOS6 is not
supported on the original iPad.

Not much to cheers about today,

Ronni

Hi Lynn,

If you are not in a great rush, perhaps might be worth waiting a little longer.
I still have the original 64GB Wi-Fi 3G iPad and waiting for the iPad 4 ;-)

There have been reports that Apple will launch two new tablets during 2012: a
smaller iPad Mini September 2012 and iPad 4 October 2012.
Will Apple do this? Well we don't know for sure... :-)

Do a Google search and you will find Rumours Reports.
Her is one:

Here is a good article comparing the two models:

Apart from the screen there is a difference in the graphics processor and of

 for the new one.

Re: A bit [off topic]: selling iPad 1

2012-08-20 Thread Lynn Koh
thanks ronni.

it should be alright with the adaptors as all adaptors are lying all round the
house (yep, i still live with mother... :) thats what mothers are for), so not
fussed about which adaptor is for which unit for now - until i or mum decide to
sell it and have the correct adaptor to the buyer.

thanks for the tip about the adaptors. what i would have done is test the
adaptors, have them plugged into the ipad and see which one takes its own sweet
time charging the ipad and i know that will be the one for the iphone.

as for internet, dont think mum will use it outside the house, she has a mobile
usb dongle thing with westnet, but since i have a higher data limit, all
computers/ipad/iphone and printers are connected to it. she only uses the
dongle thing when my wireless is down.

thanks for your advices and tips on everything.

Hi Lynn,

Sorry I did not see your reply post this morning, it somehow slipped under my
radar :)
Good idea to give the iPad to your Mum... good daughter! I was also a good
daughter before I became a good Mum a good Granmum :-)

only thing is i dont know which of my chargers (between my iphone and ipad
 ones) belong to the ipad

You need the iPad charger for the iPad.
The iPad does charge, very, very slowly, from iPhone adapters. It will not
charge while in use, though.
The iPhone will charge using either adapter.

To tell which belongs to each device: Look at the label on the bottom of the
adapter.
The iPad Adapter “10W USB Adapter
The iPhone Adapter iPod USB Adapter

I use my iPad Adaptor to charge both my iPad iPhone, but you will need to
give the 10W USB Adapter to your Mum with the iPad.
She can purchase a Telstra pre-paid micro-SIM card for the iPad with 3GB Data
$30 and top up before the end of each month.

Hi Lynn,

You use the iPad adapter to charge the iPad, that is the correct Adapter for
the iPad ... not the iPhone Adapter!
Just look under the adapters until you find one with “10W USB Adapter; that is
the one to use to charge the iPad.

All the iPods iPhones use the iPod USB Adapter.

it should be alright with the adaptors as all adaptors are lying all round
the house (yep, i still live with mother... :) thats what mothers are for),
so not fussed about which adaptor is for which unit for now - until i or mum
decide to sell it and have the correct adaptor to the buyer.

thanks for the tip about the adaptors. what i would have done is test the
adaptors, have them plugged into the ipad and see which one takes its own
sweet time charging the ipad and i know that will be the one for the iphone.

as for internet, dont think mum will use it outside the house, she has a
mobile usb dongle thing with westnet, but since i have a higher data limit,
all computers/ipad/iphone and printers are connected to it. she only uses the
dongle thing when my wireless is down.

thanks for your advices and tips on everything.

 Hi Lynn,

Same specs. as my 1st Generation iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64GB but unfortunately (for
me) there is always a family member to hand my computers, iPhones or iPad
(when a new model is released) to... would be nice to sell one... But hey
that's what Mums Granmums are for :-))

As Carlo mentioned a good place to find out what price people are asking for
 is Gumtree eBay
 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-stuff-for-sale/ipad+1st+generation/k0c9298

The price is what someone is prepared to pay I guess.

 able to answer your query.
If it is Wi-Fi + 3G size 64GB or what are its specifications.

 Hi all
I am thinking of upgrading my iPad 1 - not so fussed as to which version I
upgrade to, they are the same to me, except the HD bit.
If I decide to sell it, how much should I sell it for?
I bought it the December before the iPad2 came out - however long that is.
 Thanks.
