I’m sure you did it, but maybe a reminder email late January to jog our aging

(Hopefully this will make it as I’ve just paid my dues!)

Yes, as Brian as mentioned, if you can post to the list your membership has

Otherwise people can read the list, they can’t just post to it.

Can you please check your records, or let me know how to check my status with
WAMUG so that I can remedy the situation, e.g. pay the current year’s due.

Many thanks & best regards,

Maureen
I’m probably becoming paranoid - but I paid my fees a few months ago. Just
wondering is there a list which shows who are paid up members ?
Rather than pester you to check on my behalf ?

Final Call - Subscription & AGM

2016-03-06 Thread Maureen Smith
Hello Wonderful WAMUGgers,

I hope you are having - or have had, depending on when you read this- a
relaxing long weekend, with no demerits for driving and lots of fruit -
especially apples.

Two reminders

1 If you have been meaning to pay for your subscription but have just not
got around to it yet, then it would be advisable to do so ASAP.
The elves that work behind the scenes will be moderating list members on
Thursday 10th March.
Those who have paid their subscriptions will be able to post to the list and
consequently receive advice particular to their problem.
Members who have not subscribed will be able to receive list information but
not request help or post other information to the list.

If for some reason you are unable to pay your subscription at this
point, don’t panic. You can always pay at a later date.

2 I you were going to attend the upcoming AGM please make you payment
ASAP as we need to confirm numbers.
The AGM will be held next Sunday 13th March, 12:00pm at the Mt Lawley Golf
Club, 1/ Walter Road Western Australia 6052

PaymentsS for either your subscription and/or attendance at the combined WAMUG
AGM and Lunch can be made by Electronic Transfer or Cheque

ELECTRONIC TRANSFER:-
NAME : Western Australian Macintosh Users Group
BSB : 306-075
Account : 4197787

Please quote your name in the reference area;

CHEQUE:-

Please make the cheque payable to the “Western Australian Macintosh Users
Group” and post to:

WAMUG Treasurer
C/- PO Box 1204
CANNING VALE DC WA 6970.

Many thanks to all members who have paid and to those who are coming to the AGM
& Lunch.

One more thing to think about -

Wouldn’t it be so great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for 10 minutes
and come out wrinkle free and three sizes smaller?

Cheers,

Maureen

It's not that you can't post to the WAMUG list, it's referring to the

 forwards to).
We still get the advice to say it's paid, so no stress there, as I deal with
all the bounce messages, spam, junk etc etc that generates a bounce message.
I spent an hour or so today sorting some of it out, but there's still a few
 teething issues.

But yes, we'll get your payment advice and yes you're still subscribed to
 WAMUG.
We won't just kick you off :)) We're nice like that. We give it a bit of time
before changing moderation flags to non-post. :)) So all is good.

I'll be relooking at some of it tonight when home again.

But hopefully all will be much easier down the track.

Re: Annual Subscription Update

2015-01-10 Thread Daniel Kerr
Hi all

Some people may still get an auto-reply that says something like you can't
post to this list.
It's not that you can't post to the WAMUG list, it's referring to the internal
committee list we have (which is where the membership address forwards to).

Kind regards
Daniel

Re: Annual Subscription Update

2015-01-09 Thread Daniel Kerr
Hi Laura

Nah, it's all good. One of the email addresses wasn't ticked correctly.
(It's because that renewal address forwards to the wamug committee list). I'd
missed a bit of code when setting it up.
All is good now, and those emails got to the right place. (I know as I've seen
them go through and approve them to hit the committee list to be marked off).

It's still a work in progress, so we're adjusting as we go to fine tune to
make it work better in the future. :)

Kind regards
Daniel

Annual Subscription

2015-01-03 Thread Maureen Smith
Hello fellow WAMUGGERS,

I hope you all had a relaxing and peaceful Christmas and New Year.
It is great to see some members already organising their annual subscription
payments. Thank you for your enthusiasm and support.

This year there will be a slight change to the procedures. Basically, a new
address to email the copy of your remittance advice should you pay via
electronic transfer.
This is to ensure a speedier enrolment of members, as in the past there has
sometime been delays between payments finalising memberships.

So…… if members could hold off paying any renewals until the new address is
sorted it would be greatly appreciated.

You will be notified via this list and the information will be put on the
website.

Cheers to everyone,

things may change if some fantastic is announced we want to discuss, or
someone can't make it.
So far you can see the items for April and May meeting. You can load this into
your iCal on the computer, iPhone, iPad (Which will stay in sync for iTunes or
iCloud.

- What you want to name the calendar (or leave as WAMUG etc)
- What colour you want the calendar to be in iCal (eg Yellow)
- The Location where it's stored (On My Mac, will just have it on your computer
and syncing via iTunes for 10.6.8 or via iCloud for 10.7.3 users).
- You can choose to remove Alerts, Attachments and Reminders if associated with
the calendar (nothing really set or attached at the moment)
- And lastly you can have how often it refreshes (or leave at Every Week).
Then Click OK
You'll then see that it adds the Calendars in for you.

That simple!! :)

2. We have set up an announceme...@wamug.org.au email address for this list.
This will be a generic email address that we will use for announcements, admin
requests. It won't be an address that can be replied to, as we're just using it
to post to the list from a Committee / Admin level.
This should make it a bit easier to see for certain things. So please ensure
you keep an eye out for it if we do post. There may be something very useful in
it! :o)

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We appreciate it.

Now, I return you to your normal program.

So far you can see the items for April and May meeting. You can load this

To all WAMUG financial members.

Just a reminder that due to the change in the WAMUG Constitution last year, all
subscriptions now run from January to December, the calendar year. So payments
for this year are now due.

See the website for cheque and electronic transfer details;
http://www.wamug.org.au/join/; or bring your payment ($30) to the February
monthly meeting and surprise our treasurer!!

Works better than listening to TI on a Mac.

Now, get back to policing and prosecuting errant members of the non-Mac

New York Times Newsstand subscription

2011-11-01 Thread cm
Hi Ian,

To follow up on your question at the meeting, here is a link to the iPad
version of the New York Times subscription app. Because the New York Times has
agreed to Apples new subscription model, the app will automatically place
itself in the Newsstand app and update its contents daily.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nyt-editors-choice/id357066198?mt=8

This is the free, non-subscription version so only a portion of the stories
will be accessible. You can upgrade to the full version by paying for editions
of the paper or a subscription from within the app.

And for interest sake this article that states that the NY Times app has seen
1.8 million downloads this week and speculates that digital downloads may save
the troubled news print companies.

Hi Carlo

Thanks for the URL's. I managed to get the story about Krumovgrad via Google
last night. It is a pretty, but obviously poor, small town near where I was
working in the early nineties and I can understand the residents' anxieties.

Hi Severin,

Like you, my last WAMUG General Membership payment was on 15 September 2010.

I don't know if Peter Botman is still the Treasurer?

Hey all, I'm trying to unsubscribe to the list, but sending emails to

issue with the subscription process?
Any assistance gratefully appreciated.

P.S. Ah - I just realised its possible that as I've been a subscriber to WAMUG
at this address for around 10 years, my e-mail address may have changed
slightly (thus causing the issue).
If the list Admin could contact me off list that would be cool. : }

If John could post WAMUG's BSB and account number, quite a few banks
allow you to transfer money directly these days.
