This makes the frame parameter a better choice because the video is displayed at full size. However the frame parameter doesn't support the thumbtime parameter to select the initial image before the video is played. This is inconsistent. Currently, a previewed edit does not display [[WP:NAVPOP]] popups since NAVPOP can't register its mouse event handlers on the dynamically created links. There is a workaround that checks in intervals for the spinner to disappear, and makes navpop reparse the preview. That's rather ugly, and I presume other scripts wanting to react on the preview have the same problem. I propose adding a simple hook which is called once display of live preview is finished (pretty much exactly like [[User:Js/ajaxPreview]]). RevDelete's log link failure issue was a problem with limited use and a couple of dozen oversighters. Enabling it for 500 - 900 active admins and widespread use doesn't compute. Two efforts are underway to fix it - Chruch of emacs via RevisionMove and Aaron via some code he has said he's dusting off. Among many things, it will have a direct impact on the complexity of instructional materials associated with Bookshelf and the Public Policy Initiative. It seems to me that there is a pretty standard and functional way to address this: simply put a small text link saying Advanced Search next to the search button. See ebay.com, britannica.com, corbisimages.com I'm sure there's been some usability research done around this sort of feature, so I'll just state this as my personal opinion: a small advanced search button seems to present all the functionality of the former Go/Search setup, while eliminating the confusing choice. Otherwise I see multiple such hook systems being built into MediaWiki itself in the future, it's easy to predict that it will get more and more javascript functionality down the road. It would probably be more ideal to use jQuery bind event system somthing
like:
for the add hook you would use something like;
$j( mw ).bind( eventName , function( event, param1, param2 ){
// stuff to do at eventName time
});
Then the run hook use :
$j( mw ).trigger( eventName, [ array, of, params ] );
A bind system is more general and can be applied to interface objects .. rather
than just all in a root name space.
This is already used in the usability extension and mwEmbed makes extensive use
of this binding type system in conjunction with the scriptLoader it enables
modules to conditionally extend each other while preserving a single server
request for all script and css resources.
For example the timedText module conditionally extends the embedPlayer request
with its timedText stuff, the set of dependent libraries is dynamically built
out binded to object specific events.
i.e:

However, no colon is prepended to the page name, leading to unexpected behavior if the page being transcluded is a file or a category page (or an interlanguage link, but I don't think there's any sensible reason to try transcluding those). While such pages are rarely transcluded, it does occasionally happen; in particular, this behavior recently triggered a rather nasty bug in the ImageAnnotator script on Commons: see http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Village_pumpoldid=39469993#Many_megabytes_of_unwanted_downloads Incidentally, the code also doesn't prepend the template namespace to titles with no namespace given, which means that such links will incorrectly point to the main namespace instead.
