Qgil added a comment. One problem with this approach is that most probably there will not be projects only for bugs. Within a projects you will have bugs, development of new features, and perhaps even other tasks taking time from developers, like writing documentation of running a tutorial in an event. If we really want to see only bugs in wikibugs-l, then the only way is to allow reports and triages to mark bugs as such, with a tag or with a custom field. If adding all the activity of projects likely to contain bugs (software components), then we need to have a list maintained manually. That list could be maintained in the extension itself. What about a special page (can extensions have this?) on projects could be added using type-ahead for comfort. It is, however, not just a simple front-end change. Since we are talking about site names that just happen to be language names in the scope of Wikidata, the database would need to contain all the translations for each site name. A more robust alternative would be to radically change the way sites are stored by having sites stored as entities. Regarding the specifics of Wikidata, the translations could be hacked in using ULS, though that should definitely be done in form of a gadget and not be part of the Wikibase code. The problematic part would be to enrich the site selector widget to allow typing in the languages in the user's language. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 35342] WikiEditor: Add SVG versions of editing toolbar icons
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35342 --- Comment #53 from Derk-Jan Hartman hartman.w...@gmail.com --- Paladox, I'm not sure how I need to explain this to you and it hope it doesn't come across as rude, because it's not intended to be that way, but this whole stuff is simply not reviewable right now. If I go trough a patchset, read the commit message and the diff, test it in my browsers and NOT have all my questions answered. It cannot be merged. Things I should not have to do are: 1: Go trough 50 patchset rebases 2: Go trough 15 comments interspersed with these rebases, for finding answers that should be in the commit message, if they affect the review. 3: Pick and choose between 3 patchsets, for one change. This Bug ticket is about converting the Original PNGs to SVG. 1: M4tx did some nice work 2: This work was not pixel perfect with the original PNGs, but that was fine 3: I approved the SVG change on that basis 4: It turned out that there were problems with the SVGs in production. This should have been cause for reverting the change. 5: Instead of reverting I gave people a chance to fix it, Pro, you etc. 6: You currently are the one making those proposals for changes. 7: You can't answer the questions in a way that gives enough people confidence to approve the changes. (either by lack of experience, by lack of your mastery of the language, of not actually being able to prove it all works as expected etc.) 8: This means the patches cannot be merged, and that means that it's about time to bite the bullet, and I need to admit that I should have reversed the original commit back then when it became clear there were some problems with the original change to SVG. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
[Maniphest] [Created] T919: Reporters are not automatically subscribed to migrated tasks

There are no dependencies on the tickets, there are no comments on the commit message that indicate this. That first link already mixes three issues in a way that I'm not confident anymore that something unexpected is mixed into it as well. [Maniphest] [Changed CC] T687: Convert Bugzilla's Bug NNNNN links to TNNNNN links in Phabricator
PleaseStand added a subscriber: PleaseStand. PleaseStand added a comment. Something to keep in mind: When auto-linking the tasks, the original bug number should be retained somehow. If some bug number shouldn't have been auto-linked, it should be possible to find out what it is. That could happen for phrases such as Mozilla bug 123456 or wikilinks (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65779 vs. https://bugzillapreview.wmflabs.org/T3084). ! In T687#15275, @Qgil wrote: No, linking directly to comments is just too hard, because Phabricator doesn't give them an attribute based on a position, but on an ID. For instance, @He7d3r's comment above is #10, but look at the actual ID: T687#15271 Not worth the fight. So in cases where someone had referred to a particular comment on a bug, you expect everyone who wants to read the comment to count down from the top of the page to find it? I suppose that to some extent that would still be an issue even with auto-linking (off-site references)... scfc added a comment. I think Phabricator strongly encourages not to use numbers without prefixes as they may relate to different applications, so 982 will always refer to Bugzilla bug #982 and to refer to {T982} one would always write T982. As long as the existing links continue to work for the foreseeable future, using different numbers is fine with me. We had a similar situation with the migration from Subversion to Git. [Maniphest] [Commented On] T687: Convert Bugzilla's Bug NNNNN links to TNNNNN links in Phabricator
Qgil added a comment. ! In T687#15547, @PleaseStand wrote: Something to keep in mind: When auto-linking the tasks, the original bug number should be retained somehow. Mozilla bug 1234 is an interesting use-case, although in these (unfrequent) situations I would expect that such URL would be mentioned in See Also. We cannot detect the Mozilla bug 1234 case with a script. It is fair to say that most bug 1234 references will point to Bugzilla reports. The benefits of T1234 over a link to the old Bugzilla URL are notable: * Users will see whether such task is open or closed. * They will be able to hover and check the details of the task. * In the destination task, a This was mentioned at (link back) action would be listed. So in cases where someone had referred to a particular comment on a bug, you expect everyone who wants to read the comment to count down from the top of the page to find it? Well, yes. This is a complex migration that nobody else has done before, and it comes with a few compromises. In some cases the absence of this link to a comment will not be a big deal (either because the link doesn't matter anymore or because the destination task is fairly simple). In some cases it might be important and non-trivial to find that comment. If this is the case, then someone can quote the comment and point to the current destination, or you can edit your own comment for good. We have gone through this when we moved from fab to phab. A little annoyance for user me saving a big headache for the developers that would have need to work on this problem. Thanks to chunked uploads and CopyUploads we can upload files up to 1 GB if the user is able to jump through some hoops (having Image Reviewer or GW Toolset permissions, owning a server or having the ability to operate a bot). But even for these experienced users there is no possibility to upload files bigger than 1 GB, like these: * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2014-10-23_Zeitzeugen_-_25_Jahre_Berliner_Mauerfall_-_Armin_Schuster.webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2014-05-10_Wikimedia_Hackathon_Lila_Tretikov.webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2013-11-22_Ein_Entz%C3%BCcklop%C3%A4discher_Abend_(GEMA-frei).webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2013-11-23_It%27s_all_on_Meta_-_Beteiligung_in_der_internationalen_Wikimedia-Welt.webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2013-11-23_Wessen_Neutralit%C3%A4t%3F.webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2013-11-23_Fossilien,_Forschung_und_Fakten.webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2013-11-23_Achtung_kompliziert!_(Konfliktl%C3%B6sungen).webm * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2013-11-22_Ein_Entz%C3%BCcklop%C3%A4discher_Abend.webm A fix for this situation - without having to file bugs every time and pray for a developer that has time to deal with the uploads - could be to allow asynchronous Copy Uploads. [Bug 49969] OOjs UI: Dialogs should be repositionable/draggable
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49969 --- Comment #23 from Juan de Vojníkov juandevojni...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Trevor Parscal from comment #22) I would like to avoid adding moving and resizing to dialogs, because I believe it solving the problem in the wrong way. At it's root, this is a workflow problem. Making the dialog resizable and movable does not adequately address it. More of these processes should be non-modal, especially authoring edit summaries. This would allow users to contribute to edit summaries as they work, rather than having to write them at the very end, when the changes they've made are so temporally distant. Even if the dialog is movable an resizable and movable, the contents below are only visible through a semi-opaque mask and the contents cannot be scrolled because the modal dialog is capturing events (on purpose, it's modal). This is a good point, but I dont think, its related to this enhencment. You are right, that if I am doing a lot of different changes and/or editing the article several minutes, I forgot, what I was doing. But how this problem is related to the fact, I cannost drag the DW avay to see what is behind? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
