Re: [Wikimedia-l] Wikimédia France new Board members

Hi Lukas,

I'm glad it interests you, for we do consider that all
that is able to strengthen links between community and "official"
entities (chapters/affiliates) is important.

You can find a
description of the whole process on Meta:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimédia_France/Gouvernance/Siège_communautaire

along with the motivations that lead us to this choice.

For now
it's only in French tough… (as soon as a good will translates it, I will
let you know on this list :)

Bien cordialement,

[Wikimedia-l] Wikimédia France new Board members

2019-12-01 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin via Wikimedia-l
Hi all,

On November 16th, Wikimédia France held its annual General
Assembly and partialy renewed its Board. We are particularly glad and
proud of announcing that for the first time our chapter has reserved a
seat for a candidate appointed by the community.

Here is a brief
presentation of the newly elected Board members, including the
community-appointed seat ratified by the Assembly:

* Pascale
Camus-Walter, elected for 2 years: On Wikipedia since 2011, Pascale is a
Wikimédia France member since 2015.

* Jonathan Mouton, elected for 3
years: Registered on Wikipedia in 2007, Jonathan is the one elected as a
Board member by the community.

* Diane Ranville, elected for 3 years:
Wikimedian from Grenoble, Diane is committed in Wikimédia France since
2017.

* Carole Renard, elected for 3 years: Feminist, Wikimedian
since 2017, Carole is contributing on Wikipedia, Commons, Wikidata and
Wikisource.

* Benoit Soubeyran, elected for 2 years: Wikimedian since
2012, Benoit has been a librarian and a blogger for several years.

This
brings the number of women on our Board to 4 on a total of 12 members
(Improvement in progress).

The other Board members remain unchanged,
as well as the executive bureau:

* Pierre-Yves Beaudouin: President,
whose turn will end in 1 year.

* Benoît Deshayes: whose turn will end
in 1 year.

* Julien Gardet: reelected for 3 years.

* Roger Gotlib:
whose turn will end in 1 year.

* Nadine Le Lirzin: Secretary, whose
turn will end in 1 year.

* Pascal Radigue: Treasurer, whose turn will
end in 1 year.

* Willie Robert: Vice-President, whose turn will end
in 1 year.

We would like to thank Marin Dubroca-Voisin, Pierre-Selim
Huard, Pierre-Antoine Le Page, Lucas Lévêque and Hélène Masson, whose
turns just came to an end, for having worked with us at restoring the
good health of the Association. We know you're still around :)

Board of Wikimédia France,

[Wikimedia-l] Wikimédia France new Board

2018-11-19 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin
Hi all,

*Bonjour à tous et à toutes,*

Last week, Wikimédia France elected its new board. It is my honor and my
pleasure to communicate members and roles of this board to the movement [1].

All the three outgoing candidates were re-elected. Five people are joining
for the first time the board of WMFr, including a former employee and a
former intern ("service civique").

Three members of the previous Board left us:

Florence Raymond, elected for two years in 2017, resigned in September
2018; and two administrators, whose terms were coming to an end, decided
not to re-apply:

  • Samuel Le Goff, who joined the Board in 2014, before assuming Vice
Presidency in 2016, then Presidency from June to September 2017;

• Charlotte Matoussowsky, elected in 2017, who has been our Vice
President.

We thank them for the time they have spent in serving our Chapter and the
whole movement, knowing they keep on serving by other ways, and wishing
them the best for their present and future projets.

During this general meeting, we were also proposing new bylaws. Written
with the help of associations governance experts, their main goal is to
improve democracy and transparency in the association structure.

There was a large consensus in favor of the new bylaws. Unfortunately the
quorum has not been reached (25 % of members must be physically present at
the general meeting to change the bylaws, we were rather around 20 %).

Per our currently still standing bylaws, we will have to organize another
general meeting (without quorum) in 2018 or during the first semester of
2019.

Last but not least, the 21st edition of the general meeting was for the
first time available in French Sign Language.

New board composition:

– Pierre-Yves Beaudouin, *chair*

– Willie Robert, *vice-chair*

– Marin Dubroca-Voisin, *treasurer*

– Nadine Le Lirzin, *secretary*

– Benoît Deshayes

– Julien Gardet

– Roger Gotlib

– Pierre-Selim Huard

– Pierre-Antoine Le Page

– Lucas Lévêque

– Hélène Masson

– Pascal Radigue

A few more details about us on our website [2].

Friendly to all,

Nadine Le Lirzin

*Secrétaire*

[Wikimedia-l] Wikimédia France Governance review

2018-07-08 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin
Hi all,

As announced last month on this list[1], the Governance Assessment Report
by external auditors "Associés en gouvernance" has been published, and we
want to share it with you.

The auditors did a great work, first in their rather good understanding of
our movement complexity, and then in the numerous improvement suggestions
they delivered.

The consultation of our members – to fully associate them to the rebuilding
– is still in progress. Main changes will be submitted to a vote at next
General Assembly, by the end of the year.

The document has been translated in English and is now available on
Commons[2].

May these suggestions be useful not only for Wikimédia France, but also for
any other chapter or affiliate that would be in need of governance advice
or ideas.

Best regards,

Nadine Le Lirzin
*Wikimedia France Board Secretary*

Re: [Wikimedia-l] Does anyone know what wikimedia france are up to with the Request Network ?

2018-05-28 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin
Hi all,

Update on the topic.

Since Request Network were so slow and reluctant to change their delusive
communication into a fair and clean information, Wikimédia France broke the
agreement with them. Thus, this partnership is over.

We deleted our blog post about it. And we keep on trying to obtain the same
from Request Network (who are turning a deaf ear until now).

Once again, sorry for the noise and thanks for alerting us,

Re: [Wikimedia-l] Does anyone know what wikimedia france are up to with the Request Network ?

2018-04-28 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin
Hi all,

First of all, thanks for reporting the issue. Impressive reactivity :)

Then, sorry for the intempestive and unwelcome communication about this
local partnership. The agreement is quite clear, it has been established by
Wikimédia France (of course *not* in name of Wikimedia Foundation) and our
partners are obviously *not allowed* to use any of Wikimedia projects
marks.

Today, Request Network updated their posts to clarify things and suppressed
Wikipedia logo from their communication messages :
update_to_clarify_wikimedia_france_partnership/
— https://blog.request.network/request-network-project-update-april-27th-
2018-partnership-with-wikimedia-woocommerce-plugin-c598372e9b58

We updated our blog post as well, with an introductive warning :
annonce-partenariat-fondation-request-network-accepter-

After the week-end and labor day (1 May), we are expecting that all
occurrences of this misunderstanding have disappeared.

Thanks for your “congrats” and/or wishes of “good luck”. There is work to
be done but the mood is joyous!

I read you all, but fearing of spamming such a big list, I often don't post
congratulations when people announce good news. I'm probably wrong.
Actually, it's very pleasant to get good feed-back :)

[Wikimedia-l] Wikimédia France new Board members

2017-12-08 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin
Hi all,

We’re glad to briefly present to the community the two new members elected
on December 2 to Wikimédia France Board of Trustees by our General
Assembly.

— Pierre-Selim, 35, is a Product Manager and Data Scientist. Long-time
wikimedian, he enjoys contributing with his pictures to Wikimedia Commons.
He has already served on the board of Wikimédia France previously, in 2013
and from 2015 to Spring 2017. His term runs until October 2019.

— Hélène Masson, aka Edhral, is a 41-year-old Business Analyst. She has
been a Wikimedian since 2006 and strives to explain how Wikipedia works to
all her relations. Her term runs until October 2019.

Three other members of the Board, who had been elected in September for
this very short period, have been successfully reelected too.

— Kvardek du, 22, has been contributing to Wikimedia projects for 7 years
and organizes events like Art+Feminism editathons in Paris. Their PhD
research focuses on operational management in transportation. Their term
runs until October 2019.

— Lucas Lévêque, 29, a librarian and a passionate wiktionarist, arrived in
the association in 2014. He co-founded Lingua Libre and he registers
regional languages for the Wiktionary. His term runs until October 2019.

— Florence Raymond, 37, is an assistant curator, at the initiative of
Wikimuseum Project since 2016. She works for a better place of common goods
(photos and contents) in cultural structures. Her term runs until October
2017.

We are now 10 members at the board, but there's work for all :)

[Wikimedia-l] Thanks to our colleagues from DE, NL, SE, UK and ES

2017-09-24 Thread Nadine Le Lirzin
We sincerely thank our colleagues from WMDE, WMNL, WMSE, WMUK and WMES.

We have been very happy to receive your wishes of support and help.
Actually, you already did what was the most important for us: make us feel
we are part of a community. Thanks!

We would be glad to accept your feedback on your own chapters experience
and we will contact you soon.

If some of you are considering coming to Strasbourg for the *WikiConvention
francophone* of October 19-21 (https://meta.wikimedia.org/
wiki/WikiConvention_francophone/2017/fr) it would be a great pleasure for
the community to benefit from your input.

At the latest, we will meet you in April in Berlin.

Thanks again to you,
And to all who sent us marks of sympathy,

The board of Wikimédia France
