All: Just a reminder about our meeting tomorrow evening at 6pm at the Wikimedia Foundation offices (149 New Montgomery St., SF). Looks like we'll have a small group, which is just fine -- we're mainly just looking to kick around ideas for the WikiSalon series. We do need a list of names for the building's front desk, and you'll need to bring a photo ID with you. If you plan to attend, *please send me a confirmation by noon tomorrow*. I have a prior engagement for next Wed., but I am very excited to do a Wiki Salon! ^_^ Also, if we are looking for locations to host, with the common desire to bounce back and forth across the Bay, I can arrange to host at Impact Hub Oakland. Hi, I’m very interested in this, but won’t be in town on that evening (spring break!). I look forward to seeing what comes out of this. I’m talking to SFPL about having an LGBTQ editathon that would draw on their special collections resources. That would be in June and it would be lovely to build some support for that, and other events, in advance. It will be at, or at least near, the Wikimedia Foundation offices. (Should know if their space is available shortly.) If it's not, I'd imagine we'll find some place nearby. Probably 6 or 6:30pm. All- Several of us are working to set up a recurring monthly wiki meetup in San Francisco! We're using the name "WikiSalon," which has been used by groups in NYC and Washington DC. There's a planning doc on Meta Wiki: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Monthly_WikiSalon_in_San_Francisco (Some of you might be more familiar with the "Wiki Wednesday" name...same idea, more or less :) We plan to get together the evening of Wednesday, March 30 to solidify plans.
