Hi Chip,
Yes.
Open 4D first.
Choose “File -> Open -> Open Local Database.
After highlighting the database, do the following:
On PC, click the drop down menu icon found on the “Open” button
On Mac, click the “Options” button at bottom left.
For both platforms a drop menu then appears. Choose

Don't know of a key combination but you could probably could do this
without a mouse.
Select "Local Database" from the File menu and you'll see a dropdown in the
lower right corner of the open file dialog (lower left on OS X). You can
choose between compiled, interpreted, or MSC though
I set a database to run compiled, I now want to open it interpretedly.
I can not load the database because there are uncompiled components.
Is there a key combination which will allow me to choose the how to
open the database (compiled or interpretedly)?
Thanks

The SET ABOUT command is not used in this app.
When testing David’s suggestion, I had also tested running the service both
with and without checking the “Allow Service to interact with desktop” checkbox

I agree that PDF Creator is terrible on the server. I tried it briefly and
it was a headache. In addition to the points Lutz made doing any printing

Hi,
Tested on Windows 4D v17.0
When I click with my mouse in a text string (enclosed by double quotes) in the

Then it looks like the cursor is after character Y, but it IS after character X
(1 character before Y)

I second the statement below. We did some testing with PDF Creator in the
Past and were not convinced. Especially we wanted to use it on the server

creating PDFs for providing via the webserver.

Hi David,
Thanks for your tip.
I have conducted the test as per your suggestion and from the results of the
test, it does not appear to be a firewall problem.
a) 4Dv15.5 (32-bit) - server app launched directly - database server appears
on Available tab on Client (works OK)
b) 4Dv15.5
