excellent note about the corrupted index on LTO cartridges. Since then I've
had a couple tapes become corrupted. After the incident, I checked out all
my tapes and checked them in with CHECKLABEL=YES. This identified all the
tapes with existing corrupted index chips
with performance on AIX because our TSM server was
bought as
a black box (kind of).

I had this same issue. Do the following to correct the problem:
1) note the path where operational reporting is installed
2) use Add/Remove programs to uninstall it
3) reinstall to the original location and be sure to choose the Everyone
radio button during setup.

Yes - this bug is addressed in APAR IC33455, which is fixed in the 4.2.2.5
level of TSM and the 5.1.1.1 level of ITSM. The 4.2.2.5 level was released
last Thursday, and is available for download from the Tivoli Web site for

I was talking to a Tivoli Level 2 person and got a bit of good
news on this - TSM has maintenance levels of a.b.c.d as we all know (for
example 4.2.2.5). When changing server levels, the first 3 numbers of the
TSM Server level have to match the San Storage Agents when applying
