There is no "TDP for Cassandra".
Some ideas to consider:
1. Leverage the new "S3" interface to the Spectrum Protect server (instead
of the TSM API).
2. Use the "dump and sweep" method, i.e. dump the backup to a file and
then back up the file with the Backup/Archive client.

One way to create two copies of your backup data stored in

Hi Arnaud,
For question #1 ... The reason the information is in the document is
because Spectrum Protect restricts it. Stay tuned though, this could be
allowed soon.
For question #2 ... The only reason we recommend using 1 pool is strictly
for the best possible deduplication rates AND the
Hi Jonathan,
Spectrum Protect 8.1 server dropped Linux on Power - Big Endian (you can
still get it for Spectrum Protect 7.1 server).
Spectrum Protect 8.1 is adding support for Linux on Power - Little Endian.
It is targeted to be released for RHEL within the next few months.

Hi Eric,
A few things:
- Client-side provides better overall throughput for Spectrum Protect
because the deduplication is spread across more CPU's. So if you can
afford to do the deduplication client-side, that is the best overall
result.
- Client-side helps reduce network traffic

Hi Ben,
Here are some items to get you started:
Backup-Archive client with limited, high latency network (WAN backups):

TCPWINDOWSIZE 512
RESOURCEUTILIZATION 4
COMPRESSION Yes
DEDUPLICATION Yes
ENABLEDEDUPCACHEYes

Hi Stefan,
In that case, you should open a PMR since we don't want to get into a
debugging session on ADSM-L.

Hi Stefan,
There is nothing obvious here except that you mention 'dsm.opt'. Not sure
if this is just a general name for the opt file but the datamover opt file
generally includes the datamover name. Is it possible that the dsm.opt
file that you changed is not the one being used by the

It means that the Backup/Archive client for Solaris SPARC is not shipped
starting with Spectrum Protect 8.1. The API is still available for the
TDPs that use it and you can still use the Backup/Archive 7.1 client for
ontinued in future versions of the product?

This is not referring to running the BA Client in guest.
This is referring to the legacy commands like:
DSMC BACKUP VM
DSMC RESTORE VM
DSMC QUERY VM
