A while back there was a thread about issues running CAT5 cables along the entire length of solid steel tower legs. We've run into a problem where we can't run 100baseT reliably on a couple APs. CRC errors will go away if we force the switch port to 10baseT. Interestingly enough, packet loss

Damn near every tall tower I've done straight up the legs and zip tied right onto the legs. Grab shielded cabling and do it again, I bet you have water in the line. Double check your connectors at the bottom for corrosion or water. Josh Luthman Office: 937-552-2340 Direct: 937-552-2343 1100

We are using shielded cable with the drain wire grounded. Also, we are collocated with a 2-way transmitter. It runs at 400mhz. We confirmed today that it's not interfering because we still took on CRC's with it powered off. We have verified that there is no visible water in the cable. The ends

This is with Cambium gear? The issue is the sync over power creates enough of a inductive spike to cause CRC errors. The fix is either to separate the wiring from the tower steel, provide sync over the sync port at the AP, use the internal sync on PTP450, or swap one wire from each of the

Keep in mind the 450 already has tvss built into the interface on the radio. we do not add additional ss near top. we have not had any issues with cable errors since day one of deployment of our 450 systems. If you add additional ss on the lines especially long runs of 200' or more expect crcs.
