Someone above asked why Vamshi is shifting to iPhone. While I'll let Vamshi 
comment, here are my thoughts.

Off late there are great improvements in Android. Apart of great level of 
accessibility, there are a lot of limitations in iPhone.  Not many of their OS 
featres works in India.  Like Home app etc.,

Good luck Vamshi. Be sure to get a stock android.

[Ai] Zenfone 2 and talkback

Presently, I am using Zenfone 2 and I find difficult to type on it with the 
help of talkback.
I have to double tap on it while typing. While I am comfortable in touch and 
type mode.
Please suggest to me as to how I can switch to single tap for typing on my 
Zenfone 2.

Hi Sir,
We have  Print screen option as  an OS  inbuild  function , are you using the 
same or any third party APP?
Usually , JAWS is  compatible  with  Windows  Print screen features.
However  in case  you are facing some challenge , please use  JAWS "
Pass through  command" -Insert +3, before  pressing  your usual Prinscreen 
command.
Steps:
1. Press - Insert +3.
2.  Use your Print screen command .
A.   Print screen Key  alone- copy the complete screen to Clip board., or
B.  Alt+Print screen   - Copy the Currently active window to Clip Bord
3. Now you could paste your Screen shot .

Note:
Once you press "Insert+3"  JAWS   allows  , user's  next command  to
directly  interact with the System , instead  moving through the Screen reader 
inter-phase.

[Ai] Screenshot and JAWS issue

I have an issue with screenshot And JAWS.

I am not able to print screen/take a screenshot with the help of JAWS. If at
all I have to deal with it, I first have to put off the JAWS, copy the
screenshot and paste in the place  I want it. However, I cannot do the same
while  JAWS is on. 

Whoever is dealing this type of work, kindly guide me.

does the jaws OCR feature also read JPEG files? like a photo of a text-file?
i tried  running a document OCR on it by pressing O and then D, but every
time there is a bell/ buzzer kinda thing that goes off, like its the wrong
command.

so please let me know if there's a different command for texts in pictures.
i don't mean a scanned document, I mean a photograph. the 1
that opens with   windows photo viewer.
I'm using jaws 16 with windows 7.

Dear Team,

To be bank specific, it is mandatory in all the public sector banks for all the 
bank officials/assistants to disclose  their names, index no. and designations. 
So need not worry. If a VI person visits the bank branch/office without any 
assistance, he/she can very well ask the person behind the counter or any other 
person to help him with the required details of the concerned person.

I would further suggest to all the applicants, VI in particular, to bring to 
their notice that any denial of service is being carried out by a person or a 
group of people and not by a bank in particular.

genral practice, public service official don’t disclose there names and don’t 
give any written refusal.

and george sir, this left right combination applies to all the government and 
public sectors, even private sectors. we can not blame bankers only.

we can take example from railway counters. also denial of admision in schools

Hi all,
I had visited a place called Vangni near Mumbai recently, where I met so many 
visually impaired couples of whom a woman is efficiently managing the entire 
household activity round the clock without any assistance or maid.
Their everyday stories are untold just because they cannot well articulate them 
or maybe they are not that much educated to write it. But, surely hats off to 
those people!. And I think managing their houses in so much of adverse 
conditions is more of a challenge than anything else.

House hold work is a team work also in many of the houses.
Employing maids may not afodable for every family.

Working VIMoms  manage the same way as non VI  but working moms Rajesh. If you

This is commendable indeed. Juggling with maids is not easy at the best of

“It is time to celebrate with a Chocó cone!” Both Mother and son sit at the 
dining table around 10 in the night and thank God for the end of May and the 
beginning of June as they count their blessings reminiscing about how the past 
month has gone by peacefully with a few hiccups. The breeze is pleasant ,with a 
touch of pre monsoon showers bringing in fresh reasons to celebrate the 
beginning of yet another academic year.

A month ago was not so far away when all three of Payal’s maids informed her 
one by one that they would be taking off to their respective villages. “You 
guys will be allowed to take leave only when you find yourselves a substitute!” 
teased Payal. Payal has been living all by herself with her nine year old son 
since the past four and a half years after her divorce. Her marriage had been 
one of constant bickering and when she could bear the emotional harassment no 
more she opted to live a life of peace having accepted total custody of her son 
Nihaar. She knew that she had to build up a support system to be able to focus 
on her home management, her job and her child’s academic goals. She chose to 
have three different maids – Manisha for cleaning the house, Sarita for 
managing meals and Satyavati Maushi, an elderly but calm and patient woman for 
babysitting her son during the time Payal is at office.

The maids have been with her since the time she began living by herself with 
her son. Since the beginning she has been clear about treating the maids well 
but keeping money matters separate. The women respect her for her clarity in 
thought and instructions. All three maids come and go at regular timings and 
are clear about pampering Nihaar but not crossing the line when it comes to 
discipline.

Manisha was the first to inform Payal that she would visit her village for the

As the subject suggests, I would like to know from those who are SBI credit
card holders and are receiving E-statement on their mails.

What I observe that when I try to open the statement with the password,
which is my credit card number, I get the message: "The Author sets this
document's security settings  in a way that prevents access" after that
"Protection failure".

I want to know as to how do I open that attachment. 

While I ask you this question, I am not looking for an alternative for
viewing my credit card statement. My query is problem specific. So I request
you all to guide me pertaining to this particular problem.

Which version of jaws you use? Generally, if you encounter any inaccessible
screen then press Jaws key+Space followed by o and w. it will perform an OCR
on the currently focused window and then you can click any particular
element in that window by taking root pc to jaws.
This feature isn't dependent on internet however, provided that the OCR
compone nt is properly installed in your machine.

Very delighted to be on this inclusive informative list.

Presently, I am looking in to our SBI complaints. While doing so, I get so
many mails which have attachments in the form of PDF files which are created
by customers by clicking snapshots of their querries, which so far, Jaws is
not able to read.

What I want to know is that like the software for mobile i.e. Eye-d which
helps us to recognize images, do we have any such thing for PC as well? So
that I can work without any hassel.
