does anyone know if there are any hand grips out there that just have a
standard mic stand thread?
I have looked at the rycote ones, but they always seem to be for specific mics,
and not either the rode nt4, or blue yeti pro, which are the 2 mics I mainly
use.

I personally like the ultimate vr or ultimate voice recorder as it is
otherwise known app. the quality is customisable, and recordings can be
automatically sent to dropbox or something like that.
as far as external mics go, there are a few to choose from. a lot of them
however, don't have any
trouble is that there don't seem to be any really good audio interface units
for android phones, like one can get the apogee duet for the iPhone.

also, this interface mentions that it works with iPad, but doesn't mention
iPhone at all.

personally doubt that you will find an audio only box or card featuring it.

I can think of 2.
the first is the one I use, the Aphex in2, but that does need power, so if
you intend using it where no power is available, the other one is the
steinberg ur22.

have, is the Decade FM-850.
also found a soundcard that u can alter presets in the playback
settings
but never in the recording settings.

or studio setups, so it could be worth while investing in one of them, as

longer range, get a transmitter that has a proper antenna connector, such as
BNC or PL259, so that you can connect a quality antenna to it,

not sure what to suggest if you want to make them on the go, but if you are
just making them in one place, you could get a good quality bluetooth
receiver, (I personally like the audioengine one), and just hook
personally, I would use a decent USB sound box for this, something like the
aphex IN2, or the latest version of the Steinberg UR22.
this will also give you actual hardware level controls, rather useful if you
will be transferring a number of different tapes.
