Hi Kali,
I've done quite a few of these. The best method I've found to use is:
1) Create/Open the CSV and sanitise the data.
2) Open the ComputerSystem form in the user tool and work out which column on
the CSV you want to go in to which field on the CS form. I then write the name

Hi Mike,
Thanks! So I just need to import in 1 form? For example, if I want to
create a Computer System asset, I just need to import to the
AST:ComputerSystem form?
Also, how do I know which fields are mandatory and which ones will be
automatically generated? (e.g. Should I just leave the

schedule a Reoccurring Change request with specific Change Template?
I have heard of Asset Maintenance Scheduler, but in it the Change Template

Outage should not be more than an hour but don't panic if it takes two.
Mileage may vary, so don't be surprised if others reach it first.

Hi,
You need to do one import per form type.
As for mandatory fields, first of all, manually create an entry on the form,
and see which ones it demands (not many), then you'll need the data set id I
mentioned below.
Thanks

Matt,
Yeah we seen the 11G Requirement and actually have access to 11G server so we
are going to try a fresh install on that DB server with that client to see if
that works. The customer has few funds and cannot upgrade the AIX 5.3 32 bit

How are people importing People relationships (ie. Supported By, Owned By,

You would have to create entries on the AST:AssetPeople form. In my

exercise. The key field is the recon ID mapping to the field on the

You say you captured an SQL filewhat about a combined

How many CPUs are allocated to the VM?
What version of VM software are you using?
