I had AR, Atrium, ITSM, SLM, and SRM all installed in about 7 hours. For ITSM
I selected all 5 modules to install at once and it took about 2 hours. I was
using Windows 2008 64 bit.

Hi Friends -
How long does an ITSM installation take when all modules are selected at one go?
For me , its 21 hours and installation is still going on?
As an work-around my colleagues tried to install module by module
which seems to take less time.
Kindly Suggest.

My two cents is that Oracle will be the buyer of BMC or parts of it one day.
I always felt that that would be a great match and bring the ARsystem up to
the next level.
I might not be right and it's just my two cents, but you never know.

If you see recent Gartner's chart, no body needs to tell BMC that they
cannot enjoy the comfortzone they used to because
1. Their competitors are closing on and looking attractive.
2. They are eating their own dog food by the way of remedy ondemand.

At WWRUG, Jay Shankar, VP of support was there with her team of

a session on customer support. They did a good job of explaining how

I attended that morning session. They laid out some improvements they have
made and listened to some we thought they still needed. Things are far
from perfect, but they have been far worse, and seem to be trending well.

John,
I also encourage you to join us next year at WWRUG. At the conferences I have
learned a lot about the software. Over the years I have meet many of the

John, up until v8, I would agree with you about BMC SRM being the weaker of
the two. But not now. BMC completely rebuilt it, and the customer
feedback so far is very positive. In fact, having just spent the week at
WWRUG seeing the new version of ITSM, BMC has raised the bar again.
I encourage
Patrick: I guess it depends on what you mean by 'replace'. Different
products have different functionality. HP SRC is far slicker than BMC
SRM and seems perfectly adequate in the role of allowing a user to

HP's ITSM products also aren't integrated with one another nearly as
seamlessly as BMC's, making implementation more time consuming and
problematic, and even relatively simple customizations complicate it
further. I have seen enough of both, and a few others, to say with
confidence that BMC is th
HP: They have a good ITSM product, and it doesn't require 4GB of RAM and
20 minutes to start, so if BMC ended up at HP then AR System may bite
the bullet. And on that basis, it doesn't seem a likely option.
