Kaye,
You don't say what format your load file resides in. Also, if you are trying
to send data with $ characters, I believe you will have a problem. You
should import numeric fields with 2 decimal points (cents) - which has worked
for me in the past.

Simon,
We have experienced a problem similar to the one you are describing.
Our problem does not have anything to do with the ar.cfg file. We have
multiple users who attach files to every ticket that they create. When
they attach a file to a Remedy Ticket, Remedy writes a copy of the file

I am running ARS 6.3 patch 21. ARS 7.0.01 may have different rules.
I have created a user ID (in my case RON FARISS TEST). When I want to
see what a given user sees, I go to their User ID and copy all of their
Access Rights to my test ID. Then I can login as myself, albeit test,

Andy,
The following is the content of my dde.ini file for sending data to
Excel. Please note that the Path statement needs to point to your
Excel.exe file (not mine). My dde.ini file is located in: C:\Program

Misi,
Assuming the path to your Excel program is c:\program files\microsoft
office\office\excel.exe, otherwise you get an application error.

Eric,
Can you roll back the UNIX changes to try and start the system from a
known starting point?

Frederick,
Ok, probably a dumb question, but are you sure that your Escalation
Logging is turned on and if it is, that the name of your escalation log
file is aresc.log. Mine happens to be aresc2.log.

Lisa,
If you rename the .csv file to a .txt file and then open it with Excel
and format the Request ID as text, all of the zeros will remain. The
problem is that Excel sees .csv files as spreadsheet format and assumes
that leading zeros are unnecessary and unwanted

Rami,
We open (and update) several hundred tickets each day via e-mail. The
e-mail is pushed to an incoming e-mail template (in-house created form),
then a set of filters edits the information and pushes pre-determined,
required fields to open the actual ticket. After creation, the Ticket

I don't know whether you can disable the Ctrl-H function that will list
the Status History. If you get a knowledgeable user, how do you hide
this?

Bob,
Can you read the file with Excel?
If so, after you load the data into Excel, press Ctrl-End to go to the
last column, last row.
Make a note of what the last column and row are.
Typically, I find that there will be several blank rows at the end of
the spreadsheet. If blank rows

We randomly select tickets to use to send surveys. However, the process
depends on how esoteric you want to be when selecting random tickets.
We select all tickets that end with a specific character, i.e.6. That
gives us an approximately 10% of all tickets generated. This is not

I have been having the same problem. UNIX server - Solaris. I noticed
today that my 5.1.2 email engine is restarting for some unknown reason.
If it continues I plan to disable the executables in that old directory.

Andy,
Rename your .csv file to a .txt file.
Open Excel

Use the delimited option and ensure that the Text field delimiter of

At this point you should be able to read the data as it was produces
