We've been on 4.5 for almost 6 years and this is my first upgrade (our SA is
receiving help from our Remedy Support too).

and have new servers, databases, etc. that we will be using.
In the past when we've migrated/moved our Remedy, we have moved the data by
exporting it through the User Client (our largest form was only 45k

Chunk out the data for the large forms. This should eliminate the timeout error.

Correct. I would start with about 50K records and adjust up and down. Also, I would disable any workflow that fires on merge until the cutover is completed.

By chunk out, you mean export large tables in separate batches - xx records at a time, then import each .ARX individually, right?
