To obtain Host ID for Solaris box - From a command line type: hostid
The value that is returned will be in hex.
Enter this value in a scientific calculator and convert it to decimal.
It should return a 10 digit number that will be your host id

Well I'm just in the process of upgrading from 6.3 to 7.5 and so far its

Ok, thank you very much for the answer, Isabel.
Now, I'm trying to do the upgrade in two steps:
- First, upgrade from 6.3 to 7.1 (Succeded)
- Second, upgrade from 7.1 to 7.5
I didn't try the second step yet. I hope to send you good news when I have
done it!!!

We ran into the same thing on 7.5 with the disk space issue. I opened a

Thanks for the info - we have been able to get the client (v7.1) to run

Just as an FYI, the 64-bit versions of desktop OS's are not supported for use
with the Remedy User client - so such installations would be considered
unconfirmed per the compatibility matrix. BMC tests the Remedy User client
with 32-bit versions of desktop OS's like XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Hi there,
is that true that there is no Perl API in 7.5?

So you're still on ARS 7.5?
Is there anyone here working on 7.5 already and using the Perl API?
Someone told me he read about BMC no longer supporting Perl
It depends.
For now, there has been no official release of ARSperl for ARS 7.5.
There is a developer version on Sourceforge which can be downloaded via
CVS, see http://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=cvsgroup_id=116013; how to
do this.
This version is known to work at least on Windows. On Linux,
You are 100% correct that I'm still on 7.1, but it's funny, BMC has never
supported the Perl API...it's always been community supported...:)

It has always been one of the unsupported APIs.

If there is a 7.6, does that mean that support for 7.0.0 is now over?

Apparently, for some reason, DEV started to pick up the expired temp
licenses instead of the permanent ones (they didn't clean up the temp
licenses). They reapplied new licenses and it's now working fine.
Thanks!
