One suggestion I can think of is to have some kind of tone to represent a projectile in motion, the pitch of which could change depending on its vertical location relative to the players horizontal location.

I dont think scrolls should be removed, I just think something should be changed about the mechanics. For example random scrolls are just ridiculous. I dont think you even have 150 milliseconds to respond.

Ah I figured it out. You should change the key to space, as of now you cant use control and the arrows to run while firing.

Read the manual. When your close to a wall it will play a tone indicating the direction. When that tone stops playing, you can move in that direction unimpeeded. The tone increases in volume relative to your distance from the wall.
