I don't remember where this setting is, but you use to have to check something in a settings screen to use the file manager on the desktop. I haven't run Ubuntu in several years, so I don't remember the exact steps to do this.

Hi folks,after some time, I am again taking a Linux journey, to have fun and learn some new things, but also for few practical purposes with my projects.I have reinstalled the whole thing on my vm with the fresh, just few days old Ubuntu 20, as I have forgotten

that's actually true.I was also wondering about that because i didn't had that problem previously when using 18.04, but when i was now using 19.10, that problem was there.I cant tell what causes it though.Generally gnome3 is just a mess, get ubuntu mate
