Hi friends.I'm no longer angry about my Redpots problems.  Remember at the end of my last post I discussed new games?  Well this fellow who goes by AProneMan just released two accessible games, I already mentioned Forest, but his even better game, cats away blew my mind.  I never knew all of the different ways in which cats could be weaponized.  If this game's developer ever developed the technology featured in the game, he could probably rule the world.    Anyway, I'm glad you all are still enjoying RedPots, but as for me, I've moved on.For those of you on the forum complaining about other such games, I'd suggest you all do the same. Better yet, if you have problems with a game, complain less about it and put more work into writing something better.  Use A Prone Man as an example.  He started as just another gamer like us, but he decided to change his lifestyle and wrote amazing games like Forest, cats Away and Towering Warts.

Well.What I have been doing is going to video-download.coand just downloading the videos at best audio quality is one of the choices.The file in mp3 is a 520mb file but you can do ogg and flack to if you wish.I use listentoyoutube.com for the normal youtube things the only issue I get with videodownload is there are no progress bars when downloading the file however in reguard to listentoyoutube it downloads it itself, converts then you get it I think with videodownload its all on the fly.Its true I do have video conversion and extra digital software on my system but compaired to it the interface is a lot easier to use and I use it mostly for actual video files rather than what I origionally got it for which was at the time streaming.

Hi. In the name of darkness I would seriously suggest to everyone fighting with start menu and other stuff, to install classic shell. As I jumped right from Xp to 10, it was definitely one of the first things to do to my new system. So probably I havent tasted the worst stuff like all the sluggishness and else, but I simply didn't like this all new stylish start menu and other tricks mainly aimed at visual users.There are also other nifty tools like Winaero tweeker, for modifying more advanced stuff related to interface and overall behaviour of the system. There is even some unofficial thingy for uninstalling Cortana completely. I did it with a big sigh of relief, as I don't like sutch kind of programs simply clogging up the system and having free resources for breakfast, especially if you don't have the newest and funkiest hardware on the planet.

Well we all know what happens if we are to eager to get off the ground.Remember the james north saga.For all that are new here, setting a release date way before you are able to release and being to confident about it spells trouble.Life is a hard master, and so is time and well, stuff happens.But you have a date to do.Suddenly you are going over that date never mind you aunt died or you had to go to hospital for a couple years and suddenly you are overdue like a tax return or a library book overdue and getting flamed or fined for it as the case may be.Eventually you loose what reputation you have or cash taking the other thing and suddenly you are nothing.Its happened a bit to often where stuff was going to go out and well never happened on time.Look at breakerbox, good games, but all those preorders some I did, stuff not on time now breakerbox seems off the net completely.I think keeping tight about a release till there is actually one or you know there is one is a good idea.I had the same issue with some music and such and some other computer stuff I was ordering.The stuff said in a week, then it was 2 then 3 then 4 and eventually after a couple months I asked the seller, and they said there were issues getting it.6 months later I asked again and they admitted things just didn't pan out for that particular product or supply and I got my cash back.Sadly in most of the blindy preorders of games and such your cash is pritty much gone.So lesson is if you are going to have something, make sure you have something out and make sure it is.As for this game well it aint out yet, but we have a soundtrack at least and a few videos.Even if the game takes a bit longer now at least we have the music for it.

I wouldn't say I'm upset, just antsy. Yeah I mean if its gotta be 2018 please please early early early 2018 lol. Here's one thing though, as a player of mainstream games, devs think they can button up evreything, get to every possible contingency, then have a smooth launch, well it like, hardly ever works out that way, plenty of games have bad launches where many patches have to come out before its playable, now, true enough, a lot of those are multiplayer games, but yeah. You can also try to have a wide variety of hardware on your beta team, but that also doesn't guarantee that some weird configuration won't happen when the game hits the market and someone with an XP machine thinks they can play modern games. It's not such a bad thing with consoles, but it still is a thing.

Ah ok, I thought you were using something like choicescript from choice of games.They have a hole heap of these text games, but I've never really bought any of them.I'm not sure if their language has a limit to what you can do with it, plus I think you have to pay for their engine, but I'm not entirely sure on that one.I don't really like the idea of playing a game, clocking it and then that's it.For those who don't know what clocking is, it basicly means once you finish a game, it has no real replay value.I'm not sure if something like this can be open world, cause eventually you'll need to add more interaction, especially if you're talking about building a town and whatnot.But all this is probably way off in the future.I do hope I can have a proper look at the basement though.From what I played of it so far, I didn't really get much of a look.I think at the moment you can only explore the mansion, but not interact with anything.For example, the letter you get at the beginning says the uncle kept some sort of journal in the studdy, I'd like to read that eventually.It would explain some things.I'm hoping for more background stories from the girls, why they are the way they are, ETC.

@Defender, per your request, post 1 has been edited with a link to the TTF Objects repo. Also.While looking through old tweets, I managed to dig up two recordings of the game in its very early stages. These recordings, just about a year old, are extremely old versions of TTF, and one of them was even made before the game had a proper name. I also have an old version on another computer, but that computer is currently getting repaired and I do not have access to it. Hmm, i downloaded the latest version of this game, and even though the changelog says the newest version is 2.7, the window title reads scrolling battles 2.6. And at least most of the changes in 2.7 seem to be there, I read them in the changelog and they seemed to be effective even though the window title said version 2.6. Is the version number in the title misspelled, or something? Not sure though if all of those changes in the 2.7 changelog are there though, as the window title said version 2.6, not 2.7, so thought it was a typo.

Good question.Here is the bad news. A lot of the "big" attacks appear to require the fighter to be at a certain distance away from the opponent. Currently, there is no great way to determine this (stay tuned in UFC 3 however). So, I have found that sustained standing combat is a bit of a guessing game. To be honest, most of great standing attacks came when I was fighting as an actual UFC fighter in Fight Now. I can certainly do another part talking about purchasing moves and perks.Great record, by the way. My legend record was 34-4.

fully agree with this. I have been in so called school for the blind though I would call it the place where you learn to be a good guy and where you get everything when ever you wanted it. That's most likely why I more like being in a mainstream school. Yes, not menny of them know how to exactly to diel with blind people in the terms of speeking. For example, when the teacher asks a question, he doesn't say My name, and even if he does, there are more then one students with the same name. That's why there are some persons called assistance. they help the blind persons do there job while still not making it better for them. For example, he helps me go froo the school because menny kids run froo the coridors, etc. But, for example everyone that were in that old blind school that I was talking about earlier, they always you are all on your own and what ever, While they always say turn there and there, there is something in front of you, Well, That shurely doesn't meen that we are on our own. Although I have less in the mainstream community, that's maybe the main reason Why I stick to the net and stuf, because I don't have any real friends that are not only contact way is team talk or skype or such. Again, I fully agree with this artikle.

If you decide to try CCleaner, beware!First off, CCleaner isn't exactly what I'd call screen reader friendly, while object navigation will help you get farther than you normally would without it, you'll run across options that don't tell you whether they are on or off, even when you toggle them.Even worse, Piriform has seen fit to pollute their once clean installer with crapware such as Internet Explorer toolbars and other such generally unwanted junk that you have to opt out of or have installed on your system.I used to highly recommend CCleaner, but not any more.

Hey folks, just a few random thoughts.  First, has anyone else used Daedalus Dust after Dustin joins you in the Tower? He comes along and you get to have quite a good training experience. You can keep him with you as long as you want and take him anywhere you want, provided you don't advance the story.  Next, does anyone have any idea what effect there is if when pulling a Manamon from the Transportal, you instead choose to pick up the Manamon? I'm wondering if it has a purpose or if it's just an unused mechanic.  Third, if anyone is interested, Ninjarkin now gets Stone Fist at level 47.  Finally, what species of Deviant Manamon does everyone have? I just ran across a Deviant Reefe with perfect HP and Special Defense.

I myself have pretty much tried everything, I started off in a primary school as the only blind student, then went to a residential special school for a couple of years, then a secondary school with a Vi unit, and finally finished  my a levels in another school where I was the only blind student again. I can say the specialist school experiences I had were pretty dreadful, and I am fairly sure from talking to people I had some of those experiences were universal. Not so much about the teaching or technology, but about the attitude and the way the hole school was run. Everything ran to a strict, almost Victorian time table with things like bells for brushing your teeth, you weren't even aloud your own shampoo  in the shower but had to get out and have one of the staff squirt it onto your head. If you disobeyed the rules, or  did something in a  the system didn't allow for you tended to get some pretty extreme reactions, eg, I once got a severe yelling at for the "crime" ofopening a can of pop myself and drinking out of it, or failing to eat any part of the school meal (really this was a major deal).Contrary to what others have said, I actually felt more an outsider at  special school since I'd not been in the system from the age of five and therefore others saw me as the outsider. the laugh of course, is that the people I knew at specialist school have grown up as Sir Badger said a large percentage only able to interact with people they were at school with. A more serious problem is general lack of motivation, since when you've been in an environment where everything is completely controlled by others, you don't get any experience of thinking for yourself. To take one example, I know someone who happens to enjoy driving  had played Top speed when he'd seen it at some  of blind get together. I asked if he'd downloaded any extra tracks and cars or checked out other racing games, or indeed other audiogames at all.he replied no in a rather dispirited manner. This wasn't because he wouldn't enjoy them, but simply because it didn't occur to him to explore anything outside the confines of what he'd been shown to be available. Likewise, he'd done computer science at university (because that's what blind people usually do), but had absolutely no interest in the subject and didn't even know what a programming language was.This is to me the main issue of special school, the environment is so profoundly artificial, that it encourages far too much reliance upon that environment and discourages a person to think for themselves or act outside familiar box. Now of course this isn't to say universally sticking people in any old mainstream school will work either, since that depends heavily on the school, the support and technology available etc etc which can vary hugely, but simply on the basis of an artificially created environment vs tteaching someone to function in an environment along side sighted people I'd always advise the latter, plus of course, how the hell are sighted kids going to actually grow up to see blind people as actually the same if they never meet any vi kids?Btw, in ~Britain these days Special schools are being phased out pretty much, mostly because they're expensive to run and send kids to. The school where I went is now closed. This is certainly good in the case of visually impared kids, though with other disabilities the question might be a different one.

[[wow]] post 3, I thought that it was a spelling error. Though I musst agree that really a first letter put at the last position is, strange.@21. Sam is 14, even 15 by now, second, that all depends on the maturity and basicly the type of the person. If a 10 year old kid is dedecated to programming and stuf, he can code really good things, while someone who has 20 years but hasn't simply got that kind of idea for programming, even the most expencive sound libraries and loads of packages wouldn't help him.And, @1I would suggest you right a mutch better review of redspot, typing everything right, and don't use joke words to show your point. This is just a level below personal attack, and maybe it's even considered as a personal attack by the moderators. And, as the post 5 all reddy said, there are allot more games to be found. I actually wonder if the fact that I'm running classic shell might be partly why I've not seen these issues. While Nvda does certainly work with the default windows start menu, I definitely wanted the classic one as I  proper program groups etc, however classic Shell also apparently includes a classic windows explorer. I don't recall any issues with the windows 10 default one before I installed classic shell, indeed I actually like the windows 10 file explorer better than that in windows 7, but since I haven't modified classic shell's default settings for explorer it's probably got the classic view there too. With respect to task manager, I have noticed on windows 10 that hitting ctrl alt delete brings up the secure desktop which is like the windows login screen and lets you do stuff like switch user, change passwords or even lock everything, so unless you have Nvda set to read the login screens I'm not sure if it would read this and you might be  with something you couldn't interact with.

Okay this is really crazy, my credit card isn't working either. I don't get this, since the payment for code 7 seemed absolutely fine and I know my Paypal account is working okay on other things, it just seems to be Warsim. The only thing that occurs to me is that there is some sort of weird issue with trying to use Paypal in the uk to buy something from someone selling in the Uk, which is truly whacky and not something I've seen before but maybe it's an Itch.io thing, I did notice that there was no address field on the payment form for Warsim where as there was for code 7.

Agree whole-heartedly with the above post. Due to a combination of circumstances, most of which I will not delve into here for personal reasons, I have never left home and my mother and I live on my disability benefits and the ones she gets for being my carer. It's enough to get us both by and I'm content with the arrangement. As far as I'm concerned, unless a job will pay me more than all these benefits, it's not worth considering. I also know that as both a blind person and a woman I am considered inferior to sighted male applicants, or else someone who can easily be exploited and taken advantage of. That is not a position I ever wish to be in.I love to write, and once I get my procrastinating butt into gear, I fully intend to self-publish my novel series and either code the game based on it myself or get a team together to help me. That is what I aspire to do, to see this world I have crafted come to life in novel and game form. Until then, my current living arrangements are sufficient. I have access to the internet, I have my own computer, and I refuse to let other blind people tell me I'm doing it all wrong just because I'm not interested in working. And the government would be far better off not wasting money on pointless wars and funding corrupt companies, taxing the 1% of wealthy people a set percentage of their incomes, and putting it toward helping the people who need it most. Compared to how much those practices are costing them, disability benefits are a drop in the figurative ocean and given the choice between taking everything I have a right to and dying of dehydration, I'll take it.

@15I agree with you here. This is also a problem. From my experience, staff put forth no effort to try to teach students that they shouldn't do things like rocking. They often miss the opportunity very early on and so the student ends up developing an almost unbreakable habit. I also know several very young students from one school I attended whose parents were very transparent about the fact that they were just sending their child to the school to get rid of them. Some parents didn't know what to do with their child, so they just dropped them off at the school. Those are pretty sad situations.

ok my findings so far. I just managed to find a good deal on ultimate street fighter 4 for steam and have installed that, also had mortal kombat complete so tried playing with them both.not sure if I've set something wrong but street fighter 4 gives me next to no feed back. I get sounds to tell me I've moved in the menues and health updates but that's about it.mortal kombat reads the menus, or a lot of them really well. some of the sub menus for configuring etc, not so much and doesn't read the chars in the selection screen.this does look like a great start to what I think will be an apsolutely fantastic piece of software.

Just checked back in on the thread and realized I wasn't subscribed. I should hopefully get new message notifications now. Regarding eventual distribution, I'll need to evaluate options again once I get closer to that point, which will be quite a while yet. Steam is a must because it has the biggest market and also has mod support and some other features that I'd like to integrate. After that, I'll need to look what makes sense. Each new marketplace may mean another version of the game to maintain. Because it's just me, I'll need to be smart how I go about it. @dan_c Those alerts for energy are frequent because you won't be able to build new buildings without adding more energy facilities.@dark Thanks for adding the DB entry!@aaron I want to make the beta accessible, but it's too early in development to make that promise just yet. The game is moving from a text-based game to more of a 3D one. I'm not 100% sure what the gameplay is going to be right now because I'm working through some technical prototypes. Depending on what I'm able to accomplish, I have some ideas about how I could make things accessible, but I'm don't know how that will translate or how hard it will be to implement. So, no promises at this point. However, making the alpha accessible has been a good experience and it has made me realize that I need to be thinking about accessibility from the beginning if it's going to be in there. It's on my radar, both for this project and future projects as well.

I did wonder if it was a video setting issue but the sonifight software uses memory addresses etc to read things, not the screen.or maybe we just needed the basic sf4 rather than the ultra adition which has a hole ton of extra things bundled in it.

Hi.I have a question regarding the online mode: Does Narrator speak any parts of those features on the XBox? I live outside the US, so if I choose to buy the game for ps4, I have no tts available, and I don't know how to invite a friend etc. So if I buy the game for XBox, I hope Narrator at leased will read the friends list so I know what I'm doing.Am I right that an extra subscription is required for online gaming both on the XBox and on the ps4? I hope I finally can get into online gaming on the XBox, since I find it too challenging on the ps4 without TTS.

@Virtuosi Media, obviously if the Beta could be accessible that would rock, though I know that is more difficult with graphical games as opposed to text based ones. if the beta is not going to be accessible, I do wonder if perhaps the textual version of the Alpha could receive at least some final end conditions or hard to complete achievements similar so that it is a complete game people could play from start to finish. I'm afraid Steam is probably the worst plaform choice access wise owing to Valve being scuzbags regarding accessibility and forcing people to use their stupid software to access games, that is why something like Itch.io might be a better bet since it's a standard website so no access issues, but obviously as you said these questions are a ways off.@Mike, if you look on the audiogames.net db page, I attempted to provide something of a layout guide for Junction gate because the page elements it uses aren't necessarily what people are used to. "tab" in this case just means an informational panel you can  switch to have the page display a different area of the game. For example if you want to read the log, you just hit the item marked "log" and scroll down, while if you wanted the top display to show your workers rather than your resources you just hit "workers" hth.

Sadly player the majority of Schools for the blind I've heard of in Britain, and at least a few of those in the states were pretty authoritarian and did cause the sort of reliance on the environment I mention, this might be different elsewhere, but I've seen too many examples  of people who've come out of that system and end up damaged by it, heck, my mum still has lasting issues from  time at specialist school 50 years ago. The independence teaching was also less than stellar because the specialist school was so bent on doing things one, and only one way, they even had specially constructed liquid level indicators with one bleep for the amount of milk in the cup, and another for the amount of hot water and tea, and no you didn't get a choice on how you took your tea or whether you would rather have coffee. This translated then a few years ago when I ran into someone I went to school with who was horrified at the idea of not! using a liquid level indicator.If I could also make one miner correction, actually mainstream school and taking notes on  a perkins brailler is quite possible, I did it myself quite a bit, albeit the work then had to be transcribed, my mum still! prefers fast note taking in braille. All you need to do is make sure there is a thick mat or something under the brailler to stop it being too noisy. Actually, the special school I mentioned had such a rigorous way of teaching typing, I had typing lessons for two years and was literally taught two letters on the keyboard a week, had their teaching been better I could've moved to a laptop a couple of years earlier than I did which would've made a major difference in which secondary school I went to.

I did wonder if it was a video setting issue but the sonifight software uses memory addresses etc to read things, not the screen.or maybe we just needed the basic sf4 rather than the ultimate adition which has a hole ton of extra things bundled in it.

@stasp, please let us know you are actually a human and not a bot. You don't need to write a massive introduction essay, but just something that doesn't sound pregenerated, eg, if you have an interest in audiogames, what games you've played, are a developer etc. At the moment I'm afraid all you've said in your first post is a name and a skype contact, and a few random letters in your second post so I am not sure. We have had issues with spambots on this forum, which is the reason for this system, particularly since it's hopefully less intrusive or inaccessible  than one of those dreadful automated capchas.Hi bookrage and welcome. I'm something of a literature enthusiast myself (I also write book reviews for fantasybookreview.co.uk), and I'm certainly not the only one around here. Feel free to pass on any game news, we're certainly not omniscient where games are concerned and always appreciate hearing about something new.

30 seconds between search, why?

OK, so I do admittedly use the search feature not all that often, but when I do, I must wait 30 seconds in case I need to broaden the scope, or refine it, this is a bit absurd. I think maybe the motivation behind this might be to stop flooding or DDOS attacks, but that doesn't really stop anything, all that need to happen is packets flowing, so I can't honestly understand why this is in effect. I'd like to request this either be taken out, or reduced to a more tolerable threshold, like 10 seconds.

Hi all, I've yet to actually play much of this as the music or background  music is far too loud for me to hear what's happening with my screen reader. Don't get me wrong I dig the music and its affect, but its just too loud.My SR of choice is Jaws 18, and I'm still using at the moment IE 11. I was just going to ask if there was a quick way to turn down the volume on the background music and sounds? but maybe I can do that with the volume mixer as part of windows.Also, the tabs, as they are, throw me off a little bit as I'm not quite sure how to interact with them. As its not a tipicle web page element I'm used to dealing with. When I click on a tab, does it act like a combo box? Or what behavior should I be expecting?Thanks for the help and feedback.Also big thanks for building accessibility into this title, and for thinking about it and us in future projects from the ground level. (Volume control is added in the beta). I'm not sure if there is a way to selectively adjust volume in Windows.To the best of my knowledge, all tabs should function as normal tabs. I'm not exactly sure why your getting this, I use the search feature a great deal myself and haven't noticed any sort of restricted time limit, even when I specifically tried searching at super fast speed. I also checked the admin settings and couldn't find anything related to search restrictions and time, so I'm not entirely sure what is going on.

That is an interesting topic. I never thought, that other schools for the blind were run in such strict ways. I guess, I can count myself lucky, that I was visiting a school for the blind, that was pretty progressive in it's ways. And I must admit, that I am glad, that I was at one of those schools. Today, things would be probably different. But in the early 90s, the technology just wasn't that well developed. Not everyone had their own Braille display. And imagine, you are sitting in a classroom with sighted people, and you have to take notes on your bulky, and very loud Braille typewriter...I think, it is ok, to be in one of those schools, at least for the first few years. Long enough for you, to learn propper reading, and how to get around with your cain propperly.Especially Darks post was, well, sort of disturbing. That really sounded more like a prison to me. In my school, they taught us to be independent. Of course there were rules. And there was enough stuff, that the staff was doing for us, simply for timely reasons. But through the years, we were taught, to do more and more stuff on our own.I guess, in the end, it all comes down to how good a school for the blind really is. You could be lucky, and get to one, were you really get prepared for your life, or you end up in one, where you lose all your independency.

I just remembered Peter oneshot one of the bosses with a single mine on PG13. I don't know why it happened, but seems like it's a bug. I don't think I've changed codes related to explosives though... it's certainly happening. I'll look at it if I had energy left after university.

True Ironcross. I'm a fan of the Lufia series of RPG's which in Japan was called Estpolis. Well the first two games were released for the Super Nintendo. Five years after the second a third game was announced for the Game Boy Color. In mid development the story idea was scrapped in favor of a completely new one. That game suffered countless setbacks and was delayed by more than a year from its original projection. So it definitely happens even for Tripple-A developers. And even with all those delays the game, while fun, was still full of typos and bugs.

@85I am having the same problem with Street Fighter. I've tried quite a few things, but I haven't gotten anything to work. I can't even successfully find the submenu text in CheatEngine which is even stranger. Putting that aside, I even tried playing a couple rounds, and none of the triggers seem to be firing. (including the health ones, the clock ones, ETC) The MK one seems to read menus really well, but I haven't tried the InGame triggers yet.

Yeah. If he'd come on here and said the game would be out by June no questions asked and we were still waiting five months later, then I would be more upset. Too many devs have done just that in the past, and while I'm certain that some of them may have thought they would be able to meet that self-imposed deadline it hasn't helped the community's trust when it comes to new folks. I personally am expecting a 2018 release which in any case isn't necessarily all that far off, but we'll see. And 2018 would actually be more convenient for me since I'll be done paying off my extra expenses and will be able to shell out a little more for interesting new games and perhaps even help fund Kickstarter projects for others. I just wish I had something even close to Steven's talent for composition. I may not be able to program worth beans but if I could compose I could still contribute in a meaningful way.

I just bought this game, and I got a .zip file that's about 50 MB. Upon opening it, I click on the .exe file, and this loud music starts playing. So loud, that' I can't hear my screen reader. I'm trying to use Jaws, can I use jaws? Do I need to use the Jaws curser? Would NVDA work better? Or, it says that this game is also available on steam, is there a key combination I need to  press to get it working for visually impaired people?Thanks so much for any help you can give me.
