So here's the skinny, at least as far as I've seen it.If you go into an urgent care clinic (read: not the emergency room with a life-threatening emergency) you are placed in triage. this means that people are treated each according to the urgency or seriousness of their ailment. So if you show up with moderate to severe belly pain and a bad headache, but nothing else, you're going to be in line behind the person who comes in with half their hand missing after a car-related mishap, or something like that. If you come in when an ER or urgent care clinic is understaffed, you can wait several hours. It's true. But twelve? I've never once seen that.Also, this is not a flaw in the Canadian health system. It's a flaw in triage, and most health systems worth their salt use triage that's based on medical severity, not money paid out of pocket. Because the alternative is that if you can pay, you get treated right away. And I'm hoping to Christ you're not suggesting this as the right solution, because it means that you're supporting systemic oppression (in this case, classism). You're essentially saying that poor people deserve to wait, and perhaps die, because the rich can pay their medical bills or can stand the debt incurred. And the fun part is, most poor people don't have the freedom to live how and where they choose, the same as wealthy people often do. This means that they often get to live in places with more pollution, less reliable utilities and the like. It means they often can't afford the right meds, the right food, the right supports. It means they usually work more, get paid less, and the money doesn't go further. This can lead to chronic undersleeping, chronic stress and, in turn, chronic medical issues. Put bluntly, the poor, on average, need health care more than the rich do, owing to the systemic barriers they face. And as far as I'm concerned, once you get to the hospital, you are no different than anyone else. Your social status, your money, should not count a whit for or against you. You shouldn't have to wait five hours to see a doc just because you don't have money, and you shouldn't be bumped up to first in line just because you do have cash.So...uh, yeah. Next time you want to criticize the Canadian health system, I kindly suggest that you do a little more research and get your facts straighter. We're by no means perfect, but the fact that you're trying to find fault with this specific aspect of the system makes me think you support a capitalist model of health care. Talk to the poor. As I posted before, I just experienced a fever, headache, slight cough, and such, but I am still here. We can't let the unknowns of this thing turn us into a mass of stupidity. Oh, I forgot. That seems to have already happened with all this hording going on. I know people want to be prepared for whatever, but there is a big difference between that and being downright selfish. I've also seen where folks want to try and make something political out of this and that's even lower than people hording all of this stuff they don't need. It's really amazing what fear can do, and this whole thing that's been going on recently just serves to prove it. I pray that people get their heads screwed back on properly really soon before this mess gets any worse. Even if 80% of the population were just fine, covid-19 is spreading much faster than the standard flue, and hospitals are just not equipped to deal with that many cases requiring ventilation. So, while many in this thread think the government is overreacting, I for one think it is grossly underreacting and downplaying the situation. For one, Trump did not close federal offices, potentially exposing government employees to the coronavirus even when private corperations and schools shut for weeks. Second, no closure of non-essential activities/business was ordered, which means people are still walking around, going to work, and spreading it to their coworkers, and the public they interact with. Third, no action was taken against gross stockpiling and price gouging that retailers have engaged in. I know i said that i went to blind school, but it was only after i graduated from primary and secondary, so i went to a school where people from all over the country went. We were all adults at that point, some having recently gone blind, and that's actually where I got to learn braille music upon request, so I was really happy that they gave me the braille teacher that taught it without me having mentioned that desire yet. Spent about 9 months there, and went home every other weekend so my family wouldn't missed me too much.Before that, I absolutely refused to go to blind school because all of my friends were in mainstream and I really didnt want to have to readjust to a new environment, so when my parents brought it up to me when I was a kid I was like no way, and my teachers supported my decision so I got out of that. Still I kinda wonder what I would have become if I had gone. I always thought that the kids that went all acted weird, but looking back at that today I wonder if it was just me. That's also part of the reason I didnt want to go, because I didn't want to become like those silly kids who talked funny and made silly noises all day, and I'm not talking about kids with a different accent, they sounded like cartoon characters. One blind dude openly hit on girls all the time and that weirded me out, so I kept thinking why doesn't anyone put him in his place? That's really why I refused to go to blind school as a kid, or at least part of the reason anyway.So of course I was happy to go after graduation, and I'm glad that I went. I sure did learn a lot, and met many interesting people, was able to help many people, and gods I finally learned how to recognize and understand traffic patterns. Playing Every class in A Hero's Call for youTube Hello guys. Due to the Covid-19, I'm home for at least a week, plus the weekend. So, I decided to do a big AHC playthrough. I'm gonna create a save file with each class and see which one's the best. I'll write a text file afterwards with my opinions. What do you guys think? I'm thinking about having each episode be 245-30 minutes. Any suggestions? Should I do a playthrough with just the differences between male and female characters? Yes, this virus can be deadly, and yes it has caused people to fall ill and has killed sum. However, we need to remember that the flu has killed at least 20 times as many people in this country as the Korona Virus has killed here and yet no one panicked. The effects of this thing are very similar to those of a bad flu, so why all this fear and worry? The real pandemic here is fear and not this virus, and the stress that can be caused by the fear can weaken you to the point where sickness can become a real problem and even a serious danger. I know this because I have seen it in others, and once experienced something on those lines. So, the best thing you can do is to go on with your lives as best you can, living them to the fullest regardless of the fear that is all around us at this time. And, don't just go with everything you hear on the mainstream media alone. Be sure to research things for yourself and be as well-informed as you can. We don't even have that many cases here in Pennsylvania, and yet all schools have been closed for at least the next two weeks. that includes cyber schools like the one my daughter attends. I can understand canceling in-person activities, but instruction should go on as normal because it is all online and the teachers usually teach from their own homes. See, this is what happens when people give into fear, all semblance of common sense is tossed aside. And remember, if you do come down with something, don't start thinking that it is this stupid virus that everyone's so worked up about. It might just be you've got a common cold or something like that. I am just getting over one myself and I am doing fine. So, keep healthy, use common sense, keep living your lives just as you always have, and, most importantly, do not panick. I'm dealing with really annoying ads (sometimes some that redirect me to other pages entirely), and I'm wondering what the most accessible, secure, and best ad-blockers are for Chrome for Android and for desktop. I'm also finding it difficult to read PDFSs, as the Drive PDF Viewer doesn't allow me to switch pages, for what I know of. Hi,While I can sympathise with you to some extent and in some situations, I will definitely say that I don't miss the school for the blind I went to despite the fact that I met three of my best friends there and whom we spent a memorable last year at school.Before getting further into the discussion, I should point out that the bad experiences I had there far outnumbered the good ones, this seen both from an early and current perspective. After 8 years of graduating from there, I can still feel the marks the life at that school has rooted into my personality.But what does life look like inside that environment?Firstly, you get used to a very narow sense of life. What I mean is that by always living at the same place with the same people and under the same routine, you lose so so much from the reality. You are in fact living in a different reality because when you go out of that school, you see that things are not as they have been portrayed to you by your teachers and other staff members. You also become insensitive and inconsiderate to differences, diversity and you neglect opportunities that you would take, just because they seem too different to what you have got used to. So, having this pattern of life where everything is almost identically the same seven days of the week, you create such an independent personality in order to feel your time with some kind of activity and you learn not to need someone around you. Everything plays inside your mind. You live a whole reality there. Everything is there: friends, games, entertainment, hobbies, discussions . . . everything. You don't need interaction with other people because you have it in your mind. If you think as if you are playing a game with your best friend, and that friend may be so far away, it doesn't matter to you because you create the scene in your mind. Only later in your life, where, due to this skill you have acquired, you face isolation and lack of activities, you get to understand how harmful is the concept of having a separate school for the blind and how much it has harmed you. I have to tell you, my friend, I still suffer from this skill my brain has created and it has made me lose so much throughout the years in terms of new opportunities and experiences.Connected to the first point, secondly, the life in a special school for the blind leaves you with numerous socialisation issues that take years to be tackled. While living and interacting with people of the same category, you lack interaction with other groups of people that live not in your environment. You don't get to see their ideas, their viewpoints, their reactions, their trends, and so on. Why is this important? Because sooner or later you will go out of that school and even if you live in a community where the majority is blind, it is still too small and too unpromising. You need to be already familiar with the way things go out of the school for the blind. When I went to a public school for the first time, by the way, I felt so lost to the point where I didn't have the courage to say hello to the friend sitting on the next bench. Seen this after around 8 years, it seems so ridiculous. I could say without any hesitation that even today I have some minor socialisation issues which I attribute to that bloody special school.There are so many things I want to write here and I would say that I want to talk, just like you, but this post would get so long and nobody would have the patience to read it. In brief, I want to tell you that you are still in a new ambient where you are not well integrated. It's like migrating to a new country where you don't know their language, their regulations, traditions, culture, habits, and so on. You are still in an early stage of integration into that school. Later you will be able to hang out with friends just like you did in your bording school and you will do many wonderful things with them. That GC was a beast also, it was one of the early models with the digital video connector before it got removed, I probably could've sold it for a decent chunk of change if my mother didn't make me give it away because I stopped playing for a while lol.. The controller it came with was the interact superpad and I realized my life was a lie when I saw the official GC controller, I had to get my superpad back, I loved that controller. In linux, for example, I would be able to have Undead running, but I am not sure how many people do use Linux enough to justify the development time.#94 and #95, I will think a little bit about translations. Probably I will take management of this, but I'm actually thinking about how to do it as easy as possible for everyone. I will contact both of you and prior translators when I have something done. I have thought in a website where you have an account, and you can translate the catalog from there. Later a software will generate the .po files based in those strings. If the economy crashes, we may face another depression which could cause issues such as people having to pay high amounts of money for simple meals such as a loaf of bread. Then, we'd start seeing bodies in the streets because people can't aford to nourish themselves anymore.Here's something that could affect you specifically. In Canada, they have free health care. I've heard that on a normal day, people have to wait at hospitals for up to 12 hours to be seen by a doctor. With all this Coronavirus stuff going on, I hope you don't get sick with something worse. If you do, start packing a suitcase and be prepared to move into the waiting room for about a week, because that's most likely how long you'd be waiting.
