@post 11 I wouldnt exactly say that the original series isnt ment for todays audianse. In fact, I got into the original series around 4 or so months ago after I decided it was finily time to give star trek a full on look. I personally prefer the original series sounds to the next generation ones. Call me frank but ive clapt out my ears so offen on the stupid space mud soundpacks, all using the next generations sound designs I could actually take the basic elements of the various backgrounds and turn them into their tng counterparts. If were talking actual planet background noises/phasers and such, I agree the sound quality of the original series was tarible, but the enterprise bridge background, even the background hum of the corridors in my opinion are softer, easier to listen too, and I can actually bare them unlike tngs sound design. @dark im afrade its a little too late, ive already watched the first episode of voyage
 r. Considering im never willing enough to sit down and watch a tv program on an actual tv for 5 minutes these days, I dont think ill ever get to the next episodes. I did however skip ahead and I rather liked the episode end game, even if the borg were destroyed in a crummy way.

It is a roleplaying science fiction online space game, its rather difficult to explain the concept, but you can pilot starships, explore planets, a hole lot of things actually. And for project alpha. Huge bug in windows 10 and alt-tabbing

Hi guysIm writing this post with my testing platform which is running windows 10.So, apparently there is a huge mess in windows 10 regarding alt tab.The problem is, that alt-tabbing will no longer focus onto windows prompts, errors, and confirmations. those little windows that pop up as an error, or confirmation.This is very disheartening to me, Ive filed this bug in the feedback ap two months ago, but still nothing.Please, If you run windows 10 make sure to put this in the feedback app, in accessibility section.Windows 10 is approaching its development deadline, and I feel that accessibility-wise It has just broken things instead of improvements.narrator is good though, Its sluggish and slowI wont use it cause its slow.CheersHadi, but its good.

Steve, that is a fairly common mistake made by new programmers. The problem is they are often so eager and excited to be writing programs that they dont stop long enough to learn the essentials such as terminology, core programming skills, and how to think like a programmer. All they can see at that moment is the end goal of creating this new game or whatever it happens to be and give up in absolute frustration when things dont work out as intended. As much as I hate to admit it Ive done it and so have a lot of others, and it is difficult to pass on that experience to new programmers because they are often just too young and eager to listen to more seasoned programmers about what they should focus on at first.

Its easy to get that when learning programming. After all, programming isnt an easy task. Im not sure I myself am quite past that. While I have gotten fustrated with dmnb quite a few times, I know that we are still in early phases of development, and this is how life of an mmo begins. Pure basic may not be the best, but I picked it and it sirtenly has done well for the load its handling with spaceships and such. I never give up on dmnb, or any of the projects released if I can help it, because I know I eventually get the bugs bothering us sorted, it just sometimes takes me a while. I gave up on snow race because the code was getting more and more difficult to maintain, pluss with the offline structure being completed, their was very little to add in. Project alpha hasnt quite died, im just not sure where to take it now that the storyline is finished.

it isnt actually too bad once you figure it out, unfortunately though theres no real walkthrough for the game as far as I knowbut basically what you do is jump up the first platforms that look like stairs, try to spring across from those to the ones that the balls are on and bingoif you fall in between you just hop back on the left side platforms, but the timing on that jump has to be a little more precise because you move at the peek of the jumpalso, do you use the camera? it helps a lot with navigationHTH

This is an intresting idea and certainly worth investigating albeit its been discussed before see This topic My concern, as I discussed in that topic is how you would distinguish the difference between viewing simply a random collection of blocks in 3D positions, which the blind player would necessarily have to view in a fairly small way, eg, block by block or region by region, as compared to viewing macro objects which code wise are collections of blocks, however in terms of their actual connection resemble objects. After all sighted people have direct perception which means if something resembles! say a house that is what it will be perceived to be, where as to a blind person it would just be x stone blocks together with x wood blocks positioned above them.I personally am not against the project, though to be honest for a dynamic building game Id be more interested in somethin
 g with complex recipes and on the spot object creation and in depth task management, eg, you build a house by gathering clay, baking into so many bricks, gathering sand and water to make cement, putting the bricks together to form walls, then gathering straw and thatch (or making tyles), to form a roof and put those elements together etc, sinse direct object creation is probably going to translate better into the sort of view an audio game can have. So, accessible minecraft? A nice idea and worth a try though whether successful I dont know, albeit Id be glad to be proved wrong. However accessible dwarf fortress! very much so!

Hello,Im so glad I preordered the PC version and not the ps3 version now, I definitely went with my gut for that decision and I think it has paid off. I dont have a next-gen console yet so this is the way to go for now, but well see what happens on the next-gen front, especially with Sony starting with a tts, and hopefully Microsoft following suit, thats actually the thing Id like, because Microsoft stand a chance at porting narrator to the xbox one. After the way Sony Europe have been treating their customers, delaying dlc for months and months at a time, well Im now annoyed at them. Especially where music games are concerned. There some new rock band sogns coming out and theyve been coming out for a while now, but guess what? Sony Europe are not releasing them. Harmonix sent the music to Sony and are, basically, being refused, and its making harmonix annoyed as well as the customer. Its being disrespectful not onl
 y to the customers, but to the developers who are putting time and effort into releasing content, and not getting it approved.

Hello,Starfight was an old game, a bit like battleship, developed by someone called Robbert Betts, someone behind the website called games for the blind, and they were all games like black jack and such. When I say old, its very, very old. Going way back to the 90s and early 2000s. Science Invasion was a project that Philip Bennefall was working on at one time, for pb-games. It seems to be some sort of side scroller, there was a beta version with two levels that was going around at one stage, after the project got abandoned.

Lol Danny, ah better luck next time. I can understand troubles watching actual tv stuff without description, and I know there are issues getting audio described startrek. Personally I can see enough to recognize the next gen cast, indeed sinse in Startrek the action is on average slower and the dialogue has more explanation I find it easier to get to grips with visually, particularly sinse the federation uniforms are all recognizable and so many character like data are distinctive enough even for my level of vision . I dont unfortunately know anywhere that does full on startrek scripts, however Memory alpha wiki found here has very detailed synopses of episodes, indeed Ive been looking these over myself when finishing episodes just to get some perspective, sinse not only would
  it help if I miss stuff but also the directors writers comments on each individual story are interesting to know.

Aaron is correct, however on the plus side star traders 2 is being built from the ground up with access in mind, and that looks to have a good bit more complexity than the original star traders including far more complex faction politics so might serve the same function.

Orin, the ending doesnt change. The story only progresses one way no matter how you swing it. the QTEs only change the result of any fight that happens during the cutscene. In the example shown on the stream, Johnny Kage is double teamed by Scorpion and Sub0. If you win all the qtes, he comes out on top before you have to actually fight them in the game. If you lose, he gets his rear handed to him, but the dialog doesnt change, and you still have to fight them. So there are no multiple endings, according to the stream I watched.

This is why I like python so much. The concepts in python are very very very well named, there is one way to do things and when you read peoples code, you know what you will see.It is also very logical.For a variable you do:f = 25to add to f you doa = f + 10to make a function you do:def function_name(thing_to_pass):  print(thing_to_pass)Then to call it do:function_name(a)To define a list it is:my_list = []to add an item to a list it ismy_list.append(a)and to access an item in the list you just say the cardinal number:z = my_list[0]Now z and a are the same!It is beautiful and there is no need for return statements, typing or (when you get into classes), pointers.There are also more libraries in python than I know what to do with.If ever I need a new library and there is the library I want in C or C++, I can write a wrapper for it.
 As for indenting:NVDA and Jaws both have support for tab characters.So put \t (the symbol for tab) in your screen reader and do a replace all function in peoples code then you hear something like:def my_func():tab print(hello world)There is no forgetting braces, it is a matter of selecting a huge chunk of code and hitting shift+tab to unindent code in EdSharp and frankly, once you get used to it, you only check indentation with code online once or twice in a huge script and that is when they have bad coding practice.There is something called pep 8 in python so all python code is laid out the same.You can break it, but every developer tries to follow it as pep 8 results in the cleanest and easiest to read code.I do admit that I break pep 8 a little, There are rules like:never use l as a variable or label all global variables in capitals or import everything on its own line, or using tabs instead of spa

Hello,I had trouble getting my new pack to work on other peoples computers, but its fixed now, I had to use the packs old name. Also, I dont know if the game supports capital letters or not. The pack is still in playtesting and design, as theres a lot of music to work with for this one and its deciding what would work in the context of Beatstar. I have sent off Into The Woods to oriol with an idea to go with it, but I dont know if that idea will make it into the game. However, the next pack Im working on is just a regular pack but as Ive said, a lot of music to choose from so its taking longer than expected.Also, regarding the Disney pack, I agree, the dubbing idea is great, but the action sounds could seriously use some work. They sound... all chopped and sometimes quiet. Unfortunately though, I dont know what sort of sounds Id use for this sort of pack.

I dont think making it playable would be so difficult.I think getting the aesthetic experience is next to impossible And I like trying the impossible. Lets see what I can come up with::: The mod does some sort of optional audio effects, based on certain arrangements of blocks or geometric features. Making it possible to build terrifying surround-sound haunted temples, or a logic calculator that plays a song, or Bolstrams Disney Land.That seems difficult, to tell the truth. Doable, but a pain, and Im not ure at how exactly said mods would ultimately work, so it mmight break something.

Lol Danny, ah better luck next time. I can understand troubles watching actual tv stuff without description, and I know there are issues getting audio described startrek. Personally I can see enough to recognize the cast, indeed sinse in Startrek the action is on average slower and the dialogue has more explanation I find it easier to get to grips with visually, particularly sinse the federation uniforms are all recognizable and so many characters like data or Quark are distinctive enough even for my level of vision . I dont unfortunately know anywhere that does full on startrek scripts, however Memory alpha wiki found here has very detailed synopses of episodes, indeed Ive been looking these over myself when finishing episodes just to get some perspective, sinse not only woul
 d it help if I miss stuff but also the directors writers comments on each individual story are interesting to know.

Hey everyone, this question is going to change the subject, so please forgive me.  I always wanted to try steam, but because of PC issues I couldnt. Now I have a decent PC not great, but is able to run it. I created my account, and installed the program. I also logged in, so that part is all set. I would like some help on what else I need to do. i got the OCR plug-in for NVDA, because I read, and was told that that will be something that is definitely needed. Now I turn to you guys for any other things I may need to do, and pointers, and of course any game recommendations. What annoys me mostly, is that samsung TTS engine in British use Victoria, while they could use Oliver, which is a great voice.Anyway, updating these voices wouldnt be a bad idea. Hope they have already done it in Samsung galaxy s6, but it will be too expensive as it will make me not complain about iPhones price anymore. Its 700 dollars or more and I need to pay an arm and a leg to buy it. But over all, reading its specification, it really sounds a great phone, doesnt it?

Hi guysIm writing this post with my testing platform which is running windows 10.So, apparently there is a huge mess in windows 10 regarding alt tab.The problem is, that alt-tabbing will no longer focus onto windows prompts, errors, and confirmations. those little windows that pop up as an error, or confirmation.This is very disheartening to me, Ive filed this bug in the feedback ap two months ago, but still nothing.Please, If you run windows 10 make sure to put this in the feedback app, in accessibility section.Windows 10 is approaching its development deadline, and I feel that accessibility-wise It has just broken things instead of improvements.I wont use it cause its slow.CheersHadinarrator is good though, Its sluggish and slow, but its good.

Hi. I dont know if this has to be in an other thread but the samsung pack... Well, i made it to level like 22 or something but its really hard.The sounds have pauses at the start, they are way too long; and the music doesnt loop right. And the sounds are really fast and sometimes drowned out by the music. Sorry for critisizing, but thats how i feal about that pack. I like the menu music though. If anyone wants to know, its the default ringtone in the samsung galaxi S-IV.

As far as oliver goes, they have already done this on the S5. The samsung TTS on that phone, when you go to the install voice data option, lets you choose between a male or female voice for some languages. It also supports way more languages, might be the whole Svox catalog.As for me, Im incredibly excited about Galaxy Talkback, but today Im planning to sign a contract and get the S5. I had to give my trusty S4 to my dad and Im currently stuck with a half broken Nokia E72, and I found a very nice deal for the S5. I also feel that Samsung made a lot of compromises for that slim 6.8mm design on the S6 that concern me somewhat, non-removable battery and micro SD aside the fact that it only has a 2550MAH battery concerns me, especially with a 576 PPI screen. Theres only so much you can optimize in software

yes. but if wed start building, wed actually have a Problem because from what i know, to build something you actually Need to place the blocks yourself. Well I suppose it could work if the modder creates a blueprint for say a Strip down house which has a few rooms and there should be enough space to both store items and furniture and stuff. If what Im saying is not acurate I cant do much about that, Im not much of a minecraft expert. The modder could get the Screen Reader to just tell you where to place the blocks, but leave the nature of the block to the one building.

@mirage, Clok is very reasonable on the rp front, generally as long as you speak as your character you can get on fine, I had no problems, actually I need to log in again and continue practicing my archery. I think its because the Clok community is one of the most streight forward Ive seen.There is certainly lots of space for solo exploration, just make sure you dont say something like this is a great mud on an in character channel, and that if you say thank someone for a resurrection you say thank you to their character and not hay the death mechanic in this mud is annoying! . If you need to o ooc discussion, do it over tells, and otherwise just make sure your character acts reasonably towards other characters in the mud not like your own personal disposable mud voice.I once for instance got
  a resurrection from someone, said thanks in character but then sent a private tell explaining that I had to log off and run and catch a train so didnt have time for in character politeness, and they were fine with that.

I mean, its not imperative to build magnificent structures. You could just be like me and build huge plots of land and grow farms on it. If I do this, Ill probably work tightly with you guys to figure out what works best. It may not be exactly the Minecraft experience but its some

@locutus, its interesting you say original series startrek is not meant for todays audience this is actually something I was discussing with a friend of mine the other day, sinse one major difference between sixties doctor who and sixties startrek is that though the Doctor who stories had their moments of Oh this is to dangerous for the women or Susan the supposedly unearthly timelord continually spraining her ancle because they were essentially written almost more as long, at least three hour telivized stage plays than specifically directed peaces with highly experienced theatrical actors, most of them translate fairly well sinse what is center stage is the ideas and the acting. With Original Startrek it often seemed that sinse they were written as entertainment and hope for the future with rodenberrys conflictless utopean society, with lots of action and character architypes the audience would mostly recognize, eg, the bould drama
 tic captain, the crusty old ships doctor, the pragmatic (and something of a walking cultural sterriotype), scottish engineer, they were written to appeal on a slightly lighter level which doesnt as often stand up today. then again of course there are exceptions, city on the edge of forever for example. As regards the Blisch novelizations Wanderer, Ill agree they arent hugely descriptive although they have their passages usually in an ironic way with Blisch emphasizing the beautiful aliens Kirk meets or the strange spacial anomalies etc after a quick scene setting. In fairness to Blisch bare in mind that at the time he wrote most of the novelizations he was! just working from the scripts, sinse they didnt show the episodes in the Uk (or more specifically ireland), at the same time as the Us (and that was back in the days when there was sometimes yers of waiting time), he got the scripts posted to him by air mail along with photos and 
 comments from the directors which could be why he doesnt go deeply into characterization or the like, though I personally feel he got the tone of original startrek very well . Its been a long time sinse I read the Peter David novels, but I actually think I enjoyed Q squared just because! of the time line mangling, especially with how dark some of the alternatives got, though I cant speak of his other work. @Locutus, Id be interested in your comment that voyager is just fun sinse as I said above that was the series I looked forward to most, but which disappointed most. Characters who never really progress (accept for Parris and Bilana which doesnt really progress much until season 7 anyway after they get together), an endless parade of anomalies and throw away planets, nobody with a really strong personality and far too much
  shenanigans with 7 of 9. I definitely saw things picking up with the plot surrouning the Kazon alliance, the Trabe and Sescas betrayal but that all just went down like a damp squib and didnt particularly continue, similarly the conflict with the bork and species 8471 was presented really well in Scorpian and then just fizzled out with the Borg proving very wussy, quite surprising after their unstoppable and awsome presence in Tng, and the fact that 7s blasted nanoproes were actually used to solve a lot of plots. I also never really found the characters did much, not with the setup of a federation and maquis takeover, Chacotay who was basically religated to just pointing out the odd American Indian reference occasionally rather than actually disagreeing with the school mistress from Hell aka Janeway, harry I am the eternal schoolboy kim, and Parris who, after showing his initial edgy character proovednot to do much. Only Belana and 
 the Doctor really managed to do interesting things character wise or have personalities that sustained and grew in the series, and unfortunately even they were taken in screwy directions,  the Doctor and 7 romance was never explored, and Bilana should really have had her baby far earlier, and the less said about naomi wildman the better. Actually Jo Fords above blog which I gave the link to has some very good reviews of voyager and its problems, and while I dont fully agree with him i do think he raised some good issues. Its odd, I still love the premise of voyager, and I remember how pleased I was when I first saw the uk premiare of Caretaker, but now I just look at the series as a big bag of wasted potential and throw away stories, the hole thing felt like it was trying to be Tng but with far weaker characters and little to no recurring plot whatsoever.

Hi.If someone updates a soundpack, it will appear in the downloads. Defender:1.  After the first track, there is no time to learn the beat of the song before the first action starts like there usually is, because the first action starts when the song does, instead of waiting one measure, this makes it very hard to deal with, especially on fast beats, as you can lose before even knowing what hit you.Ill look into itThe other thing about loops not being synchronized is because of the music I believe. Sometimes it will be a little off because some older packs or even new ones dont have exact bpms, sadly i dont thinkw e can fix it unless we do all the bpms againthe pre sound I should fix.Rhythm challenge mode... I dont know if its worth itm it could be.What key would you like the freeze sound to play on learn actions?Greetings

Theres a lot more to the game than just building. Sometimes players lazily just etch out a 2x2 pit somewhere so they can put their bed down and sleep, and then continue the game.I was pretty drunk when I came up with this and its derived from a bit simpler of an idea, so I may just develop that idea instead.Basically it was a 3D game where you play as a blind person who is the only survivor in an apocalypse scenario on an island or space or something. I was thinking that could appeal to sighted players too.

For example, I cant tell you how nice it is for my phone to only ask me for the password when Im away from home, or to automatically turn on Bluetooth at 8:00 A.m and off at 12:00 A.m to save battery since that is the only time I need it. I can close all of my apps at once, send any file I want via Airdrop, have numbers as a fifth row on my keyboard at all times, use my fingerprints to control music, etc. There is so much that you cannot do without a jailbreak. So at least in my case Burak, no, the normal iPhone is not good enough for me; at least not right now. It does appear that apple is slowly loosening their grip on iOS and this is a good thing. I can say that the need for a jailbreak for some of us has definitely gone down with the release of iOS 8, but it is still there.

I did download the pack, and though Ive already purchased a good deal of the libraries demonstrated in this package, it was still nice to see names Id not come across before, and which I will investigate and purchase from in future.Kind of sad that I didnt see Frank Bry or Tim Prebble exhibited in this release, but maybe theyre more exclusive with their material. Hello,Just a heads up, the ps3 verison has been delayed, and they have chosen high voltage to develop that version, and that might be a little concerning. At the same time though, it might not be so bad because petty much all ps3s have the same system specs, so I dunno, maybe High voltage will do a much better job, and, just maybe that was why they were movd to previous gen development, maybe they specialize in that generation rather than the current one?

Hello,The quicktime events will be optional, they will always happen, but you could, perhaps, think of them like, in a weird way, mini gamebooks within a game that dont seem to effect the overall outcome.Regarding Steam, that will take a bit more to explain. During this week Im thinking about working on a few things, and one of those will be a more updated steam guide of sorts. Even with this guide though, you wont be able to use all of the program.Anyhow, I think right now he mainstream games that are interesting me are Mortal Kombat x and Killer Instinct, but I dont know if that one is coming to the PC or not. I also have a copy of Dragonball Raging blast but Im a bit stuck so am taking a break from it for a while and focusing on the upcoing Mortal Kombat. For Killer Instinct, I own the n64 version, which actually entitles me to legally download a rom of the game for backup purposes, which is exactly what Ive done, but I have

Some people like to do things that Apple would not allow. For example, I cant tell you how nice it is for my phone to only ask me for the password when Im away from home, or to turn on bluetooth at 8:00 A.m and off at 12:00 A.m to save battery since that is the only time I need it. I can close all of my apps at once, send any file I want via Airdrop, have numbers as a fifth row on my keyboard at all times, use my finger prints to control music, etc. There is so much that you cannot do without a jailbreak. So at least in my case Burak, no, the normal iPhone is not good enough for me; at least not right now. It does appear that apple is slowly loosening their grip on iOS and this is a good thing. I can say that the need for a jailbreak for some of us has definitely gone down with the release of iOS 8, but it is still there.

No, but once you started with the recordings, I remember it being doable. It wasnt really worth it in the end, since my voice wasnt accepted, but it killed some idle time I had, anyway.

@Sean, I think your synth must be causing havoc if your confusing D a N Y and D a N I E, with orphius the two sound very different. I didnt know about Bpc programs troubles either, which is sad news indeed, though Im glad theyre still open sinse even if they arent able to maintain their pace of development of new titles just selling their games is a good thing, so nice to know that they arent dropping off the map as you said. As to Danies actual problem, well whether he/she is in a school for the blind or a country with restrictions or whatever, all have the same solution, contact munawar and discuss a way to pay.

Hmmm, probably a personality thing there Danny. While I admit I dont find watching tv as compulsive or as absorbing as reading, if it is a good series with interesting plot, setting, characters etc Im quite content to sit and watch for a while, indeed I was just introducing my dad to the classic fourth doctor story The Sunmakers, which we watched all two hours of quite happily. I do find I have less patience with Tv (even on an awsomely good series like several parts of startrek), I can only manage about 3-4 hours at most and sometimes far less), I also find that I can do without watching any tv at all, where as I couldnt live without reading/audio dramas, (if I dont read for at least half an hour a day and usually far more I feel like something is missing and wrong in my life). Still I suspect this is a personality thing. Interestingly enough a sighted friend of mine feels the same way about tv vs books/au
 dio dramas, she watches! tv series (shes a fan of startrek though also loves comedies), but cant live without reading, so I dont think this is as much a sight thing as it is a mind thing, sinse obviously when your reading or listening to audio your not spoon fed with all the relevant details and your imagination is far freer due to the perceptions being indirect. In fact I just had a highly interesting experience of that sinse I was at a concert featuring a peace called godzilla eats las Vegas said to be a soundtrakc for a movie that had never been made. Apparently there were pictures in the program but obviously I didnt get those, and yet I had no trouble telling what was going on from the music, and several bits made me laugh for just how well they were depicted, like Godzilla munching his way through las Vegas caborays, or when hes finally defeated by the Us army and falls to the ground, after the epic celibratory ending there was 
 a clear sting indicating that he would be back! .
