Re: Headphones

Hello,I own a pare of creative hs-390 headpones, with two plugs, one ofr the headset and one for he mic. I like these because you can hear whats happening around you, as they dont cover the ear, just sort of sit on top of it.However, Ive experienced quite possibly one of the strangest issues ever. So, the other day I ordered a new pair of these, because well, my old pair was dying. Low and behold, they arrive, but then when I went on Teamtalk, people said the microphone sounded different. Interestingly, I had a test of it, and, well, I odnt really know whats happened. Could it actually be that even though they are the same model, as its getting odler and they want to make it cheaper, could creative be using slightly different, and cheaper, microphone components?

Re: a few complaints about the blind comunity

@Afrim and Gene, funny, I could say exactly the same about attitudes among the general population over here. Whatever laws Britain does or does not have, generally unfortunately the blind = alien attitude still persists. Its interesting, my friend with the arthritis went from having a very invisible disability with her depression which people treated rather badly, to having a very visible and acceptable one with her wheel chair and has often stated how nice people are, both about access, and just on a basic social level. Its still unfortunately true however that if your blind, most people think you dont exist. That people dont know about screen readers etc is understandable, sinse obviously if youve never had to use one why would you know about it, but what bothers me more is the attitude of blind people as alien, as intrinisically different, as not being part of society. Indeed, I always think it is quite odd that now there ar
e lots of different characters on tv in wheel chairs, from villainous to heroic to annoying, but on the few occasions a blind person is shown on tv their blindness is still the major and most important fact about them, whether theyre a super dare devil sensomatic awesome ninja, or a completely helpless person who cant do anything for themselves, either way it is their blindness that is their chief defining feature. Ive actually begun to think in the past few years that in addition to provision for equal access, ie, the state attempting to compensate for biological short comings, there should be some provision for equal inclusion or some compensation for the fact that most blind people end up being very alone and not treated as part of society generally. what form this compensation should take Im not sure, though I will say it is another reason I dont feel overly guilty about accepting disability bennifit or any particular

Monthly chat July 2015

Well another month, another monthly chat topic. As usual the rules are the same, casual discussion ahoy. Tell us about your life and what your up to in school/work/university, what your playing or watching or reading or thinking at the moment and anything else vaguely interesting you feel like having a bit of a chin wag about. Once again I get to start the roll balling, hmmm, oh dear, that was actually a typo but I left it in because I seem to be turning into agent Crab Tree from the comedy series allo allo, I wonder if Ill start telling people how the onglish bummers are farting for france .As well as checking through and hopefully finishing my charley and the great glass elevator review today, one job Im doing is looking into becoming a voluntary majestrate. Its interesting, its not something I wouldve ever thought of do
ing but it was a suggestion of my brother, and the other week I saw one of my dads friends who does it regularly so was able to ask her about it. If I decide to go for it and if I qualify with the training, basically it would involve myself, as part of a group of three majestrates evaluating cases in majestrates court. These wont be murders or assaults or anything like that, but more miner offenses, and though they could potentially be passed on to crown court if theyre demed serious its also not beyond the possibility that I could be required to decide (along with the two other majestrates), whether someone goes to traffic school or gets a month or two in prison. On the one hand I do sort of think what would give me the right or expertees to decide that, or have potentially at least some of the power to apply that level of punishment on the other hand, well its sort of like a real world version of what Ive been doin
g on this forum for close to nine years now, though where as on this forum my moderation decisions tend to be made with respect to, well what I happen to think is the best thing for the community, my decisions as a majestrate would be more like looking at the correct bits of law and seeing how they apply to any persons given offense. I do think itd be an interesting thing to do, particularly for myself as an ethicist, and also stimulating to the brain as well, and a handy way of seeing and learning a bit more about people sinse I do have every intention of publishing fiction in the future and its important for any writer to get a good sense of how people habitually react if she/he wants to write convincingly three dimentional characters.Of course this might come to nothing. I do know blind people are exempt from jury service in the Uk, although there are certainly blind judges, indeed I suspect my brother will finish his career as a judge, but I
thought it was an interesting thing to do, and a good voluntary job I could have a crack at, particularly sinse commitments of time only tend to be one day a week so it wouldnt be over loading.

@yukio, audiogames.net is organized by the Igda game accessibility special interest group, a charity based in Holland who campaign on behalf of game access. That is why we have a number of valuable resources and academic articles on site as well as the forum and database, so you might want to mention the organization and hosts of the site in your reference sinse it makes things more formally recognized than just some random place on the internet where people talk about games. Id also as I said, highly recommend asking permission of whoever wrote the bk3 article to use their actual name rather than their forum one. Good luck with the appeal, I hope it goes well, though I know writing such things is not always fun.

Re: bgt functions for sharing

Hi,I dont have the function you wanted Colton, but I do have some misc stuff I can put here:First is a set of speech functions. All thats there is a function to autodetect a screen reader and a speak function which has 2 peramitors, the text you want the voice to speak and weather it will interrupt by default this is true. The speak function uses the function to autoselect a screen reader.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24767067/speech.bgtSecond, is a little class I created called parsed data. Basicly this flass can parse a file or string containing such text as, for example:name=personage=21Or something like that. The constructer takes 3 peramitors. A string of data, a string that is the encryption key, and a Boolean which states weather the name is a filename or actual data. Please note the encryption key is used with string decrypt, not file_decrypt.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/247 … d_data.bgt

Re: iOS interactive story game released!

2015-07-01 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — New releases room : Dark via Audiogames-reflector

Re: iOS interactive story game released!

Well Ive finally given this one a try and finished the game, sinse Im generally a gamebook fan. Firstly I do like the system, particularly with how your stat increases were held over between deaths so that you could survive stat checks, the access fixes worked extremely well too, although there were some occasions when I found that when there was just the one choice the magic tap then double tap didnt function for some reason, sinse the double tap wouldnt register, (It didnt seem to occur at any points in particular, accept having a chance at some pages with single choices). Actually the game wouldve been a tad annoying to flick through choices without the magic tap system, so cudos on that one. As to the game itself, I did enjoy the story with the surreal landscapes and plot, and the various choices given to you, the writing had the atmosphere to make things appear stranger as time went on and I liked the way you were encour
aged to explore by being given a max stats run through, indeed the stat increases insured that the death traps werent too irritating. Beware! here come then the spoilers of horrible spoilage! All who doth want their games unspoilt must avaunt! My only problem is that firstly i agree with Orin, the end was a little too much a cliff hanger for my liking, so unless a sequel is planned I do feel rather dissatisfied. Secondly, Im afraid the use of localization settings to customize the game didnt work for me for several reasons. The less important reason is that the character and setting in the game is blatantly American and I am not, so talking of hiking ini the collerado mountains or California style beds (Im not even sure what that means), just didnt work if the character in the game was supposed to be me. I certainly dont mind playing an American character, but the immertian failed for this reason, s
inse the idea of cops in durham or of me having A basement just felt completely out. The second and more major reason was to do with the ending. Sinse it ends on a cliffhanger and I have no idea who this character is or what his holyy mission is supposed to be, there was no way in heck I could convince myself that this character was me, sinse to be brutally honest the idea of me stabbing my friend when he shops me to the police or me killing people or what not is just so completely ludicrous it took me out of the story. I actually think the localization attempt was over all a bit of a mistake, sinse it is obvious that this story is about a character of some sort with distinct motives and history, and trying to force the players real world self into that roll just reduces the suspention of disbelief, particularly sinse the player doesnt actually know what this murderous characters motives are or what is actuall
y going on outside of the dreamscape. Im going to be interested to see what the commentary has to say about the ending scenes for this reason. so, a nice game over all, but I would suggest that perhaps if a localization and an attempt to involve the real rl player and his/her best friend is tried, such blatantly specific character motvies should probably be left for a character with his/her own history whom the player takes on, --- sinse Id have found the ending much more convincing if I was playing American psycho cid looking for his best friend, rather than actually playing as myself. Sorry if this sounds harsh, as I said there was a lot I liked, I just found myself rather let down with the its all a dream ending and hints of some other story that just seemed to peter out, sinse answering one question with another question which remains unanswered isnt a technique in fiction Im a fan of. of cou
rse, if there is a sequel planned which will answer the questions, then Ill gladly eat my words and I look forward to trying it.

So, its extremely important to submit credible evidences using real writer names or organizations.I was going to submit the article to show that my games are played worldwide, rather than the article was written by a certain person. But it may be much better to include who wrote it and what kind of group Audiogames.net is. vmware fusion low latency audio?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get less audio lag in vmware fusion 7? I followed the instructions on bryansmart.com, but when I reboot, Sound just gets completely cut out. I unfortunately cant seem to be able to reinstall vmware tools, as there isnt any speech to go through the setup prompts with... Im running a windows 7 vm on a 2015 macbook pro.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Dark.Thank you for your response, and allowing me to quote. The point you mentioned was what I was worrying. The staffs dont know anything about Audiogames.net, and how much the site is known to bisually inpaired people worldwide. Its extremely important to submit credible evidences using real writer names or organizations.I was going to submit the article to show that my games are played worldwide, rather than the article was written by a certain person. But it may be much better to include who wrote it and what kind of group Audiogames.net is. As you in the previous post, its univercity level.I also would like to appreciate you giving your information for quoting. Since there is one month remaining until the final submission, Ill consider what is the best way for appealing myself, and do whatever I can.

@aaronUnfortunately neither copyright law nor the Berne Convention grant you any right to download a copyrighted work without the copyright holders permission even when the said work is no longer for sale. There may be doubts about actual enforcement when or if the copyright holder cant be located, but technically it still constitutes copyright infringement. But talking about torrents in general terms is not illegal.Whether a given torrent contains copyrighted material, or if its illegal to download it, should nhot even make any difference provided that we stick to a general technical discussion.

Re: Is it aloud to quote articles on this site?

Hi Yukio. That is an interesting question and not one weve had before. As far as I am aware, all of the articles on this forum are public domain, sinse theyre available via Google, so feel free to quote away so long as you acknowledge who wrote the article in the first place and give them credit. I would suggest however, that you contact the author of that article and get permission to use their actual name rather than their forum signature, and then site the article as by so and so, published on such and such a date on the Audiogames.net website, property of the game accessibility special interest group. I know in Britain academic references always have to be given in a rather strict and formal sense, with as much information as possible, and just writing a forum post by dark demon bunny would not be acceptable at university level. I wouldnt be surprised if the same is true in Japan as well. So, while there is no problem qu
oting the article, Id recommend that perhaps you look for more information so as to have a more correct reference. Btw, if you want to quote anything from the database, feel free to quote me as Dr. Luke Hewitt, university of Durham, England, audiogames.net administrator.

If you want to make it your default voice on a 64 bit machine, this goes for any sapi voice, in a command prompt change to c:\windows\SysWOW64\speech\speechux and run sapi.cpl. Its the same dialog that the control panel brings up, but it lets you change the more advanced voices like eSpeak, which will not appear in the control panel dialog.

Re: Swamp Campaign Scripting (SCS)

The zombies behave normally, but most of the things you mentioned for allies need to be coded, except I think ally.name.health works. ... Yeah, ally.name.health works, but it is read only.If you want to heal an ally, use the hurt zombie command, with negative values. Example:+-1+block fire event Field kit
set var x1=[player.x]
set var y1=[player.y]
set var x2=[player.x]
set var y2=[player.y]
add x1 by -10
add y1 by -10
add x2 by 10
add y2 by 10
hurt zombie -25 -20 x1,y1,x2,y2 ally
end eventI dont think theres a way to figure out what items are in a given area, so itd be harder to let an ally pick them up. IIRC, theres a way to remove items, but I havent used it so am not very confident in that one.If you dont give allies guns, or give them melee weapons, they simply wont fight. You can simulate melee for allies using a timer and a hitbox like in the field kit example above. (Preferably, add a zombie count check first, and be aware that zombie count any will count allies toward the number of zombies in range.)If it helps, heres one of my ally time events:+-1+block while wolfdead=0 and time6 event m=0 s=1
set var px=[ally.Wolf.x]
set var py=[ally.Wolf.y]
set var dx=px
set var dy=py
add dx by -3
add dy by -3
add px by 3
add py by 3
set var temp=0
zombie count dx,dy,px,py temp=any
if temp1 then ally sound Wolf=weapons\Machete\fireM.wav
if temp1 then hurt zombie 75 300 dx,dy,px,py any
end eventI never bothered keeping an ally count variable, so if there are variable numbers of allies in the same place, you can have allies swinging at each other. Sending any to the hurt zombie command doesnt seem to hurt allies--you nee to specify directly--but you might add an extra line there to heal allies, just in case theyre killing themselves this way.The biggest issue Ive had with allies is just the bizarre bug where they occasionally just cease to exist for no obvious reason. This usually comes after a jump command, and my attempts to isolate it suggest it actually takes two. Its gotten better with recent updates, though, so Ive paid less attention to trying to debug it and just put in a chat command to tell the game when theyve disappeared (hence, the wolfdead variable in the above snippet). Also, if zombies are killed with the hurt zombie command, it doesnt seem to fire a kill event.
I set up a campaign where youre being chased through a temple by an enormous monster, and simultaneously trying to kill a raider to take his stuff... and had a melee ally kill the raider instead, making it impossible to win!(I tried to add some failsafes afterward, and started telling my ally to stay put until I could take out the Raider, but that whole section is intense enough that the couple times it ended that way were frustrating. )

Re: make unity 3d accessible

Hi,I will support this, but I cant ever say that it is possible. Unity uses 3D rendering in its user interface and, as it currently stands, there is absolutely no screen reader that can interact with, and work well with, a 3d interface. So, it is unlikely that this will work unless we can convince Unity to completely remodel their user interface, which is unlikely. However, Ill support it.

hi all.I was wondering if we could share a few functions in our code, either voluntarily or somebody asks and somebody else says heres a function.I didnt want to create a new thread for every function I wanted, or the same for others, so I put this up.The function Im looking for, Im pretty sure cae will be able to answer this one.I need a hex_to_decimal function.I, of course, can not use hex_to_string because it returns binary strings, not decimal digits.Say, e do this.string thing=number_to_hex_string(1372); //returns 55C.//I did that calculation before, I dont actually know hexadecimal.now, I cant exactly do this one.string thing2=hex_to_string(thing);i wanted 1372, and I dont get that. Does anybody have like an include or something that will convert hexadecimal to decimal? Prefferably returning a double. And if you make this, keep the following things in mine. One: H
exadecimal doesnt support subdigits, i.e, 3.14, would come out as 0x03.Two: I do not believe hexadecimal supports negative numbers.Or maybe these are bgt limitations. So, can anybody give me one of those? Also, any functions you need just post here and somebody should return you one!

Re: a few complaints about the blind comunity

Maybe I take it for granted. But Canadians generally have a much more open attitude... of course you still find people who treat us the way Dark was describing it above, but if its any indication, it feels like were much luckier here than the UK. I have a good circle of friends most of whom are actually sighted, Im involved in a good number of organizations where blindness is not a factor. Of course there are times when I dont feel like m as big a member of society as Id like, but those are fewer and further between than they used to be. Having said that, our national institute the blind, the CNIB, is very similar to the UKs RNIB in the sense that they focus pretty much entirely on people over the age of 60... but we also have a non profit here in my province that is geared towards kids and youth, which is a huge blessing if there ever was one. And althouggh we may feel like people who are blind are the only people who get pushed off to th
e side, I dont think people who are in wheelchairs or anyone with another disability have it any easier. I do agree with dark, however, on the fact that most characters who are blind on TV tend to have it as a central feature... though especially in Daredevils case, I dont know exactly how true that is. He doesnt have superabilities because he is blind, those are a result of his accident with the chemicals which blinded him in the first place... people just tend to lump the two together.

Re: ps4!

Its a rectanglular shaped thing, probably the size of an old VHS player. There is a CD slot in the front The top is a rougher plastic, but youll feel a strip of softer plastic running the length of it and down the front. IF you feel carefully, there are two slender indentations. one on the top front, above the CD tray and one to the bottom. These are actually touch buttons, similar to the old tech. One is power and the other is eject, but I forget, because I dont use them.On the back there are various ports. There is a power port for the cord, which is not like the PS3, its only got two pins. There is an HDMI port, and the proprietary playstation to composite port. There is also a camera port and an optical port for audio. Moving to the controller. The D-pad is on the left, you orient it in your hand just like the other Dual-shock controllers. The two analog sticks are below the dpad, there is one on the left and one on the right. The thing in the center, i
t feels like a smoothe bar that wraps to the top of the controller, and extends left and right, this is the touchpad and works similar to a laptop trackpad. to the left of the touchpad, a strange shaped button, this is the share button and to the right, is another so shaped button, this is options. The touchpad also presses in as one ,and youll feel it click in. A lot of times, this has the functionality of the select button of PS3 games, because select was replaced with share. The action buttons are exactly the same as the PS3 controller, if you think of them as a baseball diamond, X is home plate. Circle is 1st, Triangle is 2nd, and square is 3rd. The shoulder buttons, L1 and R1 are very similar to the PS3 but have a different feel to them. And L2 and R2 are triggers, but they have a little lip so your finger doesnt slip off as easily like on PS3. There is a receiving end for a micro USB cable for charging the controller. On the bottom, you have the headphone jack. Oh,
the PS button is in the middle as well as a little speaker which some games take advantage of. Also on the top, near the back, kind of in between the triggers, youll feel a smooth plastic thingy, this is a light bar which is always on when the controller is on and games can change its color, it also serves as a battery warning because it will turn red.

To clear things up, Jason was not banned. I saw him on earlier. So, no worries there. If you have problems connecting to the server, keep trying. For some reason I dont think your told if your banned, though, if your banned, it will just sit there when you press enter on connect to server. Thats one way to tell if your banned. Also, if you leave your character on a colony supply mission, it will take some time for the data to load. Upwards of 30 seconds.Hope this helps.

Re: Accessible radios?

I dont recall those, but that might not mean much. Then again, I may had known one or two people that had some kind of kit. As for the wire antenna, that should be easy enough for me to put together. After all, that will mainly be a wire put in the clip on the side of the radio I have and switching the switch to external. Then again, I will have to run the wire making sure that the run is clear from any RF noise such as my PC. LOL. That should be a cheap antenna to do up. I would find it interest if I could set up a dipole in the area I am at. The one good thing about the Grundig Satellit 750 is the choice of connections. Granted it’s a choice between a BNC and a wire clip type connection for antennas on the shortwave. The FM band on it only has the BNC connection witch leave to two bnc connections and a wire clip connection. It also has a 3.5 MM jack for the AM band here in the US. The one thing I should had done was a little looking over all before buying, but this topic is interesting so far... If I can pull in the shortwave stuff alot better than I am now, I may be talk in to get another to put some where else in the household. That is if I can come up with the cash and a good reason. At this time, that is a big if.

Well, I know he forgot to mension this thing:condission ? true : falseBasicly, the condission part is something youd put in a regular if statement, like gender==1 or something, and then theres a question mark, followed by the thing to do if that condission is true, example male, and then a colan followed by the thing to do if its false, for example female. So you could do something like The player +player.name+ is a +player.gender==1 ? male : female

Re: a few complaints about the blind comunity

@DarkAs a blind person I find life difficult but sometimes we can change anything to improve it. From going to school, to setting up your own family is hard. Many sited women wont agree marrying a blind guy since they have no information how things work, or they may just not want to marry a blind person, and that is their answer. Dont consider an offence, since Im blind myself, but marrying a blind girl would be very very difficult to cope with life. You may have money, you may have a good infrastructure there where you live, but two completely blind people cannot live together, on their own.As you said, deafness and blindness are the worst disabilities with communication issues, but they also involve other factors as well.Things may work very well when you find good people, and especially those who create a good attitude twards us. I didnt ever think things would go so good in my public school and it has been a really really
good time there.I sometimes get bord by my blindness. I like to go out with friends, or meet more frequently those ones I have actually. I like to enjoy the attractiveness of some girls I really like but that is impossible. I love driving with my car listening to my favourite music loudly, but that is again impossible. Being stuck on your computer most of the time is frustrating.

Re: a few complaints about the blind comunity

@dark;I know what you mean about blind and vision impaired oriented organizations. I got my rehabilitation training at The Lighthouse for the Blind, turns out the training they gave me was so minimal that it might as well be non-existent. My mobility training was one hour a week for seven weeks. I got my white cane training while still had enough vision that I didnt need the cane. So during the training I use my eyes more than I used my cane, and they approved, never even attempting to force me to rely on the cane. So when my vision deteriorated to the point that I really had to rely on the cane, I was basically having to train myself to use it. I realized I needed help so I decided to retake the mobility training. When I tried to sign up to retake the mobility training, they refused, saying Id already taken it and couldnt take it again. And then theres the issue about screen readers. The only screen reader theyd recommend was JAWS, when
I heard the $900 price, I asked if they knew of any less expensive alternatives, they told me not really, there are other screen readers, but they cost about the same as JAWS, but arent as good as JAWS. It turns out they knew of NVDA, but for whatever reason, refused to say anything about it. The really irritating thing about this is that many blind or visually impaired people simply cant afford to plunk around a thousand dollars down on a piece of software and The Lighthouse would rather leave them in the dark than tell them about NVDA. And these people are supposed to be helping us?I have since discontinued any association with The Lighthouse. They have prooven to me that they are not my friends.

Ah Mike, I now realize what i was doing wrong with the map, you need to click on galaxy then choose one then region and choose one then system and choose one before you can get down to viewing individual objects like gas giants and moons and so on.Actually what you seem best off doing with the map is clicking on the coordinates of your base, then looking at your home planet and then going through your home system and region and galaxy to see what is around you from there. As to access generally, I havent encountered anything yet with Supernova that was too different to anything Ive seen before, Ill need to check all the numbers and such and I was initially a trifle confused by things like the construction kew box, and as I mentioned the map but the game doesnt seem too inaccessible on the surface from what Ive seen so far.

Re: Hi all, Can somebody help me with this?

Not being able to use $_POST sounds weird to me. Not being able to mod php.ini makes perfect sense though. On free hosting (or even paid shared hosting) the host cramps as many people as is physically possible on the same server in order to keep costs down. They couldnt allow any one user to make server wide configuration changes, and you probably dont have a full fledged hosting account. To be honest, text files really arent the way to go anyway. If youre serious about this you should really invest the time to learn SQL and put together a server side solution which uses a database and PDO.I wouldnt use the MySQL_* functions that the many old php and sql tutorials online suggest as those make it really easy to write code with huge gaping security holes.I too would be willing to nagociate something with you as far as some hosting goes. As to access generally, I havent encountered anything yet with Supernova that was too different to anything Ive seen before, Ill need to check all the numbers and such and I was initially a trifle confused by things like the construction kew box, and as I mentioned the map but the game doesnt seem too inaccessible on the surface from what Ive seen so far, albeit it looks towards the more complex end interface wise, though partly this is simply due to needing to show
  lots of information.

Re: a few complaints about the blind comunity

@Assault freak, Ive heard as much of the Cnib, and you may well be right about Canida generally, certainly Ive noticed the Dutch, the Germans, people from Scandinavian countries have a much better attitude towards disability generally blindness included. I do have to say though that from the research Ive done blindness and deafness are the two disabilities with the worst communication issues, deafness for obvious reasons, although in the case of deafness there is so much group identity and language identity (there are many deaf people who even claime to not be disabled at all), that there is at least a much more active cultural element than with blindness. Part of this is undoubtedly practical, sinse one of the major tools used by sighted people for communication is eye contact, and thats something blind people cant do, however I dont see why if a sighted person can realize someone in a wheel chair cant walk acros
s the room to say hi, they cant realize someone who is blind cant make sodding eye contact. this is compounded by the issue that conversation is something of a dying art form, and eye contact is largely replacing it, look at how much of social life revolves around environments like crowded pubs and night clubs where ambient noise makes any form of communication but eye contact near impossible. I will say in the right group and environment, things can work extremely well. During my degree and time at university things were amazing, I was not only accepted by most people as a default but I even got to engage in some fairly responsable positions of authority. Unfortunately, university is different to pretty much any other environment you will find and sinse I finished my degree Ive only ever found that level of open mindedness around students, which is just plane depressing. @gene, one thing Ive noticed about a lot of blindness org
ganizations is they have very much a our rules or nothing sort of mindset. jaws is what they! offer so they tell people its best irrispective of anything else, they have set cane teaching techniques that they use for a set amount of time for eaqch person irrispective of sight level, preferences or anything else. I will say this is my I have issues with a lot of blind people whove gone the institutionalized route sinse they tend to have adopted this mind set, that they assume there is only one set method or set idea in life, and take what is given and dont enquire outside it.Oddly enough it makes me feel rather more alone among other blind people, sinse when i mention having friends who arent blind or using the train or what not and get the disbelief response it can be rather annoying, plus Ive noticed a tendency among rather a few blind people to associate only with that small number of people they met during their t
ime at specialist school and nothing else.

Hi.Having played the game Id actually like a continuous version of it.Ie you complete jobs in the town and other things. However Id like the ability to live your life in the town, maybe try to mine gold etc.If I went the violent crime way kill everyone in the town or something crazy and become the king of the underworld or something or get killed with appropriate messages or be the good guy or simply muck round for all time.I would also like it if I was one of the towns chars or could get a perminant job with people but still do odd jobs and other junk. This game for 5 bucks is really good but Id really like more.If nothing else Id like to actually play it till I die or until no one has any jobs for me.Id also like to get better weapons and maybe buy more ammo etc.And Id like random things such as a bank robery or a jailbreak to contain etc.Its a good game for what it is but I
  want more.

Well with free hosting like x10, im not sure you actually get to mod that, or if it is necessary. I mean this in the kindest way, but hosting a chat client on free hosting while atempting to get data from a txt file loads of times, your host is gonna freak out and it probs wont work. If you want I can host the php for you and you might have better results. I bet its just your web host. Something that could work though, use file_put contents. like this?php
$nd=$_POST[data];
$cd=file_get_contents(events.txt);
file_put_contents(events.txt, $cd.\r\n.$nd);
?warning! This code isnt tested and could error, but it should generally show the get and put contents methods. If it doesnt work just find a tutorial online, but it should.

Re: Size of muds?

I have tried disckworld mud earlier this year. As I said above, Anke Morpork was indeed truly gigantic, or at least it certainly seemed that way, and the descriptions were extremely good, even in the basic newbie area, let alone the game itself. There are also some extremely good textual directions and explanations of city maps on the wiki, however the city was so well described with the roads named, each building being distinct that I could actually navigate very well by simply remembering where I had been, what road things were on or looking for familiar landmarks.I however got deeply frustrated very quickly, sinse basically the game gives you absolutely zero, none, zippo, nada idea of what to actually do. There isnt a way to find quest masters, and the goals command which just gives you a mega long list of doom just isnt adequate at all. The game kept promising lots of activities and things from smithing, to potion making, and it also had a very f
luid guild and experience system as well sinse you could actually learn stuff on your own or be taught by other players, however I just got really! frustrated with having not even a hint of direction and feeling like I was basically wandering at random, particularly sinse what I actually wanted was a game where I could feel like a character in the Disc world books, be sent on missions by the patrician, get into bar fights in the mended drumb, have commander Vimes request I help the city watch etc, however though there were one or two recognizable faces with the npcs, there just werent many ways to interact with them at all, no quests they would give or services they provided, indeed the only npcs in Anke Morpork I found who served any purpose were trainers and shop keepers, and even those were a bit useless sinse there was nothing to fight unless you wanted to go randomly killing ravens and rats for no reason at all. I dont know if people on that mud are more into
rp and that is the reason it felt so empty, but the hole thing I just found completely impenitrable and more than a little disappointing. I might try again at some stage, sinse its certainly one of the best written and best describes muds Ive seen, but for activities and actually stuff to do beyond wandering the streets Im not sure, ironically the most fun I had was in the newbie pumpkin village area precisely because that had a recognizable tutorial and easily locatable quest masterts who gave me stuff to do.

Re: make unity 3d accessible

Theyre rendering text as 3D objects, true... but Id be amazed if they arent using a render function that knows when its rendering text--Either they have a render_text function, or a generic render function that gets the data from the text object. The former is easy to make screen reader accessible. The latter would be more inefficient, but having the text show up in the accessible layer whenever its geometry is accessed shouldnt be hard.(Unless the geometry is accessed directly, rather than through methods, which would be odd for a big professional project like Unity.)Alternatively, if there is a render(object) function, there could be a line like:if object instanceof text then render_accessibly((text)(object));Even if it would be better from the ground up, it would need to be a horrible Eldrich cludge of an engine if accessibility in some fashion couldnt be worked in. Excellent accessibility might be difficult to impossible, but we have people who stuck with Android in 2013 and I still use Noteworthy Composer, so mediocre accessibility would still be an enormous improvement.(Ahem. Insert rant about tactile displays here )

Well, as for undocumented features of angelscript, theres also class casting:@a=castb(c);Where c is an instance of a parent class of b. Results in null if c is not an instance of b.I dont think sound_is_playing in the sound_pool was documented. I think its supposed to be used internally, so you should use sound_is_active instead... except I think this was before the persistent parameter was added, so sound_is_playing is actually useful.
